    I have been watching people fix up sailboats for a few years and this is the first rebuild I have watched on a power boat. You guys are doing a great job it is definitely interesting watching you both. You do a great job of keeping it interesting and I like the fact that you both talk about how you are learning as you go..

    It's nice to watch a series that doesn't sexualize it with thumbnails of the wives body for clickbait. I'm excited to see the end product. Good luck you two. Keep it classy.

    I had a black cat growing up. His name was Mr. Crowley from the Ozzy Osborne song. Digging the videos and making great progress on the vessel.

      We have a few holes underneath which are hand holds to pull out boards, we may need some more. We'll monitor humidity and adjust accordingly, thanks for the comment.

    Hi people 🙂did some Binge watching last evening and watched all the 15 episodes :P good filming!! . I have to say i am i kind of jealous, me and my wife we rent every summer a boat to go for 3 ore 4 weeks for our holiday on the the Dutch waters (jep I am from the Netherlands) We would love to have our own boat and do what you do but the nearest harbor is over 2 hours driving and that's a bit of yeah not ideal to do a project like yours, we both have our day jobs and just don't have the time traveling every weekend to the harbor so we can work on it, and that also would take far far to long so we keep renting.... Now about all the work so far, what i have seen is pretty amazing and it becomes more livable and looks nice!, I have fait it's all coming together and i know one thing, your two will know every nook and cranny when your done. I think that's a great plus about having your own boat and knowing it so well. So keep posting dose videos, there very enjoyable to watch, like the cat ho he is managing around you two working, sits ore lying on top every time is nice and fun to watch!! I don't know if you have thinking about 'what to do with the 'dark' wood' inside the boat (al the strips, doors, drawers and so on) but what i think that would really help is a good rub with some linseed oil. It's easy to do it takes just an old towel put on some oil and than rubbing the wood and later on polish it up when dry ore repeat. I think the wood will come back very good like it was when it was new, just one thing!!!!! watch out with the towels and the oil, soake them in water when you stop working, the towels otherwise will go scalding and they can start to burn (been there done that......) So be carefull with that. So for now Aye, aye, captains!! greets Mark.

    • @SeekingSeas
      @SeekingSeas  2 года назад

      Hi Mark, thanks for watching. We love to here peoples stories in the comments and get to know them a little. We started in a similar situation as what your in right now. We both work day jobs and live about three hours (including the ferry) from our boat. At first it was difficult coming out every other weekend to work. Eventually we got the boat in good enough shape to live on a couple weeks at a time. It helps that we can work remotely. Thanks again for watching and sharing.

    Down the road you could put some teak veneer on the chain locker bulkhead for a yachty look. Crosscut wood in Seattle has a paper backed Teak veneer in glue up or peel and stick. You would clear coat it after its up. Rebedding the portlights would be a good idea also , leaks are a pain. The teak veneer would be good for damaged wood as you find it also.

    Hey guys. I just found your project today and have subscribed. This is awesome. I have an old Bayliner 3288 I found several years ago that sat on the hard for over a dozen years. It was a long but awesome process bringing her back to life. And I too work in the cybersecurity space here in Seattle. Anyway, looking forward to watching your progress and now have an idea for what to do with my old wallpaper and the grey "monkey fur" Bayliner stuck over everything.

  • @phillipmullis7904

    Don’t glue the carpet down. Use snaps or Velcro so it can be removed if it gets wet. You may want to use a waterproof paint underneath the carpet also.

    I literally binged watched all episodes tonight and honestly they were absolutely great 👍 so I love how the remodel is going!, just and idea but will y’all replace all 12v light with new LEDS plus that will save a ton of power and the brighter the better😁 so my second question and statement kinda is y’all work so good together and I know this boat will be sentimental to y’all and being y’all’s jobs are demanding and you have to be in the general area can y’all and I can see y’all possibly doing other boats to Flip!? I know this one y’all will keep, but will there ever be a thought to flip some? Y’all just work so good together and that would be so cool to see!!!! Thanks for the great entertaining vids!

    If you are going for some insulation - which I want to agree - be sure to chose one that takes no water / moisture.
    My experience (from sailing boats) - sleeping in the v-berth you often touch the sides. If they are cold, it's uncomfortable all the time.
