Really surprised to see the Southern heritage unit back in action! That unit was involved in a pretty big derailment a couple years ago, and I’d have bet that scorched earth NS wouldn’t have ever repaired it.
I had no idea there were any Southern locomotives on the NS system. Love that color scheme. Only color scheme better was the red and silver “War Bonnet” on the Santa Fe system.

Boy that engineer kinda took off like a bat ata hell, in loco # 1043, pay attention to the first car behind the loco, as its extended coupler gets yanked out quickly, then the engine slows down immediately to compensate for the rest of the train to start to move into motion.,🤯😵😱. Spectacular footage.👍
Two Aberdeen Carolina and Western (ACWR) GP40’s …the green and cream painted motors ! Those were ex CN Zebra stripped units when they first came to ACWR. Those and that ex CP GP38 are heading to private ownership. It sure why it lists them as “rare locomotives” though….

Maintenance of Way (MOW) Crew. Geometry is NOT part of the MOW Crew and is a Stand-alone Car with the Various a Class I Railroads.

Great catch with the BNSF geometry train and the UP weed spraying train. Nice close up view. I saw it in Tucson last spring.
Thanks for another GREAT recap! Am waiting for NS 8099 to go through Tucson as I write!
We appreciate it!
As an armchair railfan and not a rivet counting foamer, some captions or narration would sure help!

That UP MOW train always looks suspicious to me...

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed they're former ACWR units. Wonder if it was the slug set they had.
I noticed them too… I live near their tracks in Stanfield North Carolina
ACWR units, no doubt, wonder where they're going, Port of Houston, on a ship? To where.
is that an EX KCS GP9?
We aren't sure yet. We tried to look up its origins but didn't have any luck. I think its an SD7 or SD9. Maybe someone can help us out?
KCS never had GP9s painted in their gray scheme.
Yes but they did paint them in the White Ghost scheme before the grey ghost was a thing@@killersopinion1829
It's sad to see the state of some locomotives :(
Why is this a "must see"??? Nothing to see here... I don;'t see anything out of the ordinary...
