I was going to say..it didnt sound bad..lol...My rig sounded bad...I picked the guitar back up at 50..Ive played for years..just pretty much it took a back seat to me trying to support myself as I had broke my back and neck (8 vertebrae)..I dont even have a guitar now..I sold the one I had to pay a bill..it was on its way out,,I wore the neck out(C Mixolydian anybody??),the reason I said this is it was a good guitar..like an 85 ibanez ..emg active pickups 81 -83 ..it sounded like crap...I know it was the active electronics..but even with new batteries so the signal was strong....you would switch to the bridge and it sounded like it fell down a rain barrell lol...good guitar..in my opinion...THAT SOUNDED BAD!..LOL...God bless you brother!...keep playing like that..you will never have to worry about that!..let me handle the BAD sounds....I got used to it..that damn guitar..if you got the bridge sounding good..the neck sounded horrible..and vise versa...neck..you could dial it in a little..but it fell flat(all bright/no tone when you switched back to bridge...playability wise...the neck was incredible...however..I wanted you to see this..it really was my second attempt to play this..I worked out the three positions..(D major/G major/a major..and if you look at the scales the are blatent cut and dry segovia scale runs...thats what Randy was playing here...may be a blatent scale..but it was Randy Rhodes playing it..I kind of was screwing around as I immediately recognized all those classical guitar scales in the solo..very classical feel(not me maybe) but well..I now realize why Randy was sooooo BADASS...I hope I didnt ruin this song for you..I was basically just showing people..if you practice faithfully..THEN THEY COULD ACTUALLY PLAY THIS STUFF..not me so much..but with just an attempt..I think you get the picture....thanks,man!...I just subscribed to your channel.awesome execution!

That bend at 0:04 That effect you played at 0:17 sounds like a Stallion neigh At 0:23 that bend and immediate shred was fantastic Tapping effect at 0:27 The stallion sound again at 0:31 Now that's one Million Dollar Solo. 👍🎸 Keep rockin 'n' rollin buddy.
@@Stuka55 I think it's a natural harmonic (light touch, left hand) as opposed to a pinch harmonic (right hand, pinch). The changes in pitch (with 2 notes) create the "warble effect."
The stallion neigh is a "dive bomb" (natural harmonic + whammy bar). Plenty of juicy examples here on youtube now that you know what to look for, the coolness/difficulty ratio of a dive bomb is pretty insane :D

The good kind of disgusting. The type that makes you make THAT face that out of context would look concerning but is actually a compliment of the highest order from a fellow player. Both the tone and the play fit this!
you are doing something wrong man . I just some cool legatos, harmonics and pentatonic all over, i am pretty sure you can do better after 30 years of playing

I have that same guitar , it has become my number 1 of all my EVH guitars , most comfortable to play , best sound in all 3 pu positions , imo they are better than the specials , standards and yes even the USA model .....
man, i love finding videos like this. we lost EVH last year and each time I hear a bit playing that he's inspired, I'm reminded of why I picked up my first one at the age of 23 last year
agreed, i screwed up one of my les pauls from doing it the toggleswitch way and had to get it repaired so now if i ever wanted a killswitch i'd get one with a button installed like on these EVH guitars or just get someone to fit one in
There's so many different colors and different types. Which is the exact guitar, if I was to search for the EVH 5150 guitar? I'm looking for a new six string and Eddie is a huge inspiration to me and I want to get it right. 🤔🤘
