🤣 Coon has a very different meaning here. A bit of a old school now days. It cracks me up every time thinking you can't say that now days, I know it's not the same meaning. Southern chaps talking about hunting them, trapping them, stealing your feed 🤣 Hunting them was banned in Australia in 1973 1840 treaty was probably the final cut off point in NZ We don't have racoons here.
I tried something similar to that and it didn't work. Have you ever used shark teeth? If you have please let me know I'm thinking about using that next. Thanks Ron self
@@bamagot13 thank you. Ive been having problems with coons just now on my boss buck. Raking out protein onto ground. Im gunna do this. Almost bought the shark teeth strips but a lot of bad reviews.
@@davidfinigan4565 Yes. My feeders are the Moultrie standard feeders with the square metal legs. Tons of squirrels and raccoons where I have the feeders. Whenever I fill the feeder I apply a fresh "coat" of Vaseline. I bring paper towels to get most of the old stuff off first and then just smear the new stuff over. The scent doesn't affect the deer in the least. I have used that method for 5 years now and it works. A little messy but I just remember to bring disposable gloves. If I get lazy and neglect the Vaseline it will break down and then, sure enough, I will have pics on the trail camera of a squirrel or raccoon hanging from the motor. I heard that Cayenne pepper mixed in works as well, but I tried that a few times and it blew in my eyes! LOL.
I did mine this way and it worked great.
Check out Spring Sliders. Keep raccoons and squirrels from reaching the spinner or the hopper.
Keep em on the Ground!
I have the same feeders I’m gonna give this a try! 🦌 😎

I've heard of carpet tac strips on the legs works well.
Can confirm they will still figure out a way unfortunately. They are tricksters
I tried them and it just gave the coons extra grip…😂😂
We've got doZens on each feeder def gonna try this, we came up with something close already but this even better
I painted them just to blend and not stick out like a sore thumb....
Have you posted video of coons on the feeder after you put pvc pipes on?

I haven’t but I’ve had buddies tell me it’s like adding stairs….
Shark teeth from boss buck do not work. Can confirm. I'm going to give this method a try.
like the idea was thinking of adding a spring of some kind to top so it moves down as well if they try to climb on.
Good idea.
What's the name of your video where you put tubes on feeder?
ruclips.net/video/G5Gc3XcUJFU/видео.html
Thanks saw video gonna try cause the coonhoods are 175
What size is that pvc?
@@karalewis2908 6”
Ok cool gonna try thanks and love your video!
Thinking about getting one. How long does the corn last in one?
Depends on deer density in your area along with time of year....
Does the diameter of the PVC pipes effect the ability of bucks with big racks to be able to get to the feeder spouts?
No sir. Bucks come and eat like before. No issues.
Has anyone tried vaseline or grease on factory legs?
Vaseline works, gets dirty but holds up surprisingly well
What the name of video how you made them so I can look at?
Coon proof deer feeder
How long is each pvc pipe on each leg? 3 ft?
Yes sir

@@codyw9259 its been really successful for us. hope it works for you. good luck
Great idea
Anyone tried rubbing grease on the tubes. I don’t think the deer would care.
Thanks !
Have you tried smaller pvc in 6” sections? That spin?
No but good idea….
add vaseline
Have you tried vaseline? Did it work on factory legs? I was going to try grease.

@@jeffsalsieder640 Great advice. Sounds allot easier than all the leg contraptions on youtube.
