From Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the NBC series revolving around Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), a New York City Police Department (NYPD) detective in Brooklyn's fictional 99th Precinct, who often comes into conflict with his commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher). The series also stars Terry Crews as Sargeant Terry Jeffords, Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago, Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz, Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti and Joe Lo Truglio as Charles Boyle.

the writers were sooooo good at subtle humor. holt: “meat.. from the street.. sounds like a treat” then follows up with “ha! i’m a poet..and didn’t even know… [it] I was rhyming those words.” hahaha ok, good rhyming captain.

@@Bob-hz6fp lol i only say subtle because of how they set up their scenes. their funniest scenes imo are the ones that cut just after, but a lot of people overlook look those scenes bc the show still has very dramatized scenes that are loud or catchy

I’m pretty sure they accidentally created the perfect character in Captain Holt.
I was pretty scared of Andre Braugher after Homicide Life on the Street. But I absolutely loved him on B99! Also. If you watch closely a lot of scenes, the characters outfits color matched. I guess it’s a quiet way of showing how much they really knew each other🤔

Rosa and Holt are frank with each other and so at ease. Honnesty is beautiful. It tests trust and acceptance. Unashamed honnesty makes us feel brave and true to ourselves, even if it's about the little silly things.
Dude what a phenomenal actor, that part when he's saying goodbye when leaving for PR really gets me

Rosa and Holt Moments are the best. 👌 He’s the dad who pays extra special attention to the independent child who taught themself to be strong but still needs help and is afraid to ask for it. 🙏
Also, I love how swiftly Rosa proceeds past admitting she’s bisexual. She didn’t even leave a second for gasps or reactions. 😂
Growing up as bisexual and never being able to come out to my family, brooklyn 99 was the show that inspired me to come out and now I have been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years and listening to captain holt and rosa brings me to tears everytime.

What's great about captain Holt is that at some point he eventually becomes the most adorable person in the cast. And the best part about it is, that he doesn't really change.

rosa and jake's relationship is so great. even thos she is quite reserved its pretty clear that aside from holt, jake is the one she cares for most in the 99 as a brother.
