    Some of the devices seem to be testing transformers, usually cascaded, like at 1:53 (first stage to the left, second stage in the middle). 3:01 even seems to be a three-stage configuration.

    This facility is for testing electrical components/equipment during a artificial lightningstorm.
    and for measurements about the maximum distance of high voltage powerlines.
    also research about electromagnetic pulses are done here.
    to measure the behaviour of electrical components while exposed to EMP's
    and many more scientific projects.

    Is that place abandoned? The equipment looks rather old and neglected but I find it strange that they would leave it all there if it wasn't going to be used?
    Surely it would have a high scrap value?
    When was the place built?

    nice music, nice pictures, im guessing its not in use anymore, thats sad, if they had listened to teslas reseach you wouldnt need all of the marx step up systems, just specially designed tesla coils like wardenclyffe. wardenclyffe would generate voltages above 30 million volts - 100 millionand even more than this!! poor tesla . great video thank you, places like these should be made into museums with running devices! thank you

    Also what are those corugated cyclinders (the brown ones at 3:13, or the clear ones at 3:08)

    Dove sono queste linee? Io ero rimasto alle sperimentazioni dell'Enel negli anni '70-80 per linee di questa classe di voltaggio (avevo visto i documentari sul loro sito), ma avevo capito che in seguito il progetto fu abbandonato. Ero rimasto che oltre i 380 kV - parlo di linee AC trifase - non ce n'erano in Italia.

    If this place is abandoned, would it be possible to get some capacitors out of there?
    I think those big caps would be rather expensive to buy and it would be fun to do HV-Stuff with those^^
    One of these caps would store around 1367 Joules @125kV, that would be cool.

      @CaptainNorris 2 года назад

      @@GeoSciful You are right. I heard, they even restarted it in 2014 and made some sparks, so it is at least partially functional. It would be a sin to steal equipment from such a facility as long as it is working. Back then (13 Years ago) I thought it was totally abandoned and a decaying ruin.

    This is not a so called 'HAARP' in FSU but a multiple HV PSU/source in order to test the longevity of electrical insulating equipment for HV a.c. transmission gear. Not too dissimilar to the old facility in Leatherhead near London UK, which was used for similar purposes (UK NGC reserach). Massive tesla coils, mark's gens & cockroft multipliers too. Big arcs, big bang's - nirvana for HV heads like me. Cool vid + music. 10/10.
