I love this 80s remix version so much, you make it longer, catchier and more extraordinary than the original song.
How do you make these? Explain like I have zero music production experience
Well, I'd say first of all one should have some (basic) music production experience 😅 Then probably hours, days, months or even years of sucking in the zeitgeist of certain periods of the '80s. I think it helps if you're able to tell if a song is from 1982 or 1988 (both years of the '80s, but vastly different) as well as familiarizing yourself with synths, drum machines etc. used back then.
I'm usually trying to go for a specific period, not just throw together random synth sounds. For example, I'd say this one sounds like something coming from '87-'88. Then it's just listening to the original track and/or acappella and imagining a different arrangement (though I don't think my arrangements are _that_ good). I'm then trying out different vibes until I find something that sits and feels right and I start building on that until the whole thing comes together.

@@boycrockett Haha when it comes to writing arrangements or composing, I’m really good (and could help out) since I have a degree in arranging.
Then there’s the music production… gave up on that long ago. Too complicated to even set up on my piano, let alone download VST’s and apply them to the software.
