After last night's sold out show in LA, I have a very strong feeling that 2024 will be the year of Emei! What's you favorite track off her 'Scatterbrain' EP?
Yeah Scatterbrain is a beautifully strange EP. It be giving me Björk vibes. And imma have to remember, "finish my musical sentences", that's some good vocabulary right there. Great interview overall. Could I be your next guest?
@@Lee-vb4vh No Björk is from Iceland. Emei is from New Jersey. But both are able to sing across irregular asiatic string patterns and alternative drum tempos that few outside FKA Twigs or James Blake could accomplish. Her and I share the same music distributor and academic background that only artists like Kehlani would understand the level of difficulty in having to lean on your own songwriting muscle and not be like most of these other muhfuckas nowadays who are just singing covers. She's basically the east coast Jhene Aiko and if anybody has anything that can say see me 'bout it. And her next album is gonna be the shit too. #DramaKidz4Life
@@MrVenMusic ok great thanks 🙏⭐ for insightful interesting music info. Sounds like you have deep understanding into music theory, genres, instrumentals, rhythm, vibes, etc. I just discovered Emei, so find her and her band refreshing. Love their energy and onstage interaction... Like Freddie Mercury. I'll check out your DramaKidsForLife links. Thanks again for outstanding comments. Continued blessings 🙏✨🎹🪘🎷🎻🥁🎸👍
