- This paper marbling tutorial guides participants on the process for making the Star and Crescent, part of Portsmouth’s Coat of Arms.
Portsmouth City Museum is hosting events for Bookfest 2023, I am collaborating with Hamza from www.craftdraft... to run a workshop for participants to create marbled paper that they will use to make their own hand-bound book.
The marbled paper designs are inspired by the City of Portsmouth's Coat of Arms and seaside location.

Thank you karen 😁
Absolutely superb, I love it ❤
Thank you! 😊
Really beautiful work. I’ve been testing out some samples for an art project that I’m working on but I’m having a tough time and I’m not sure where I am feeling. I wonder if Carragegan is too thick. I’ve had success with a couple colors, but failed with the other two. The twos that were successful, were ready to pour paint, which I did add some water to and the ox gal. The other two were tube paint which I added water to an ox gal, but I just couldn’t get them to sit on the surface enough. They always stayed small, and slowly sunk. Right now I am doing small batches to test what I am doing before I start a much larger project.
It’s tough on your own, I admire your perseverance, keep going!
Great! Thanks. Do you leave the brushes in the paint?Do you keep the colours wells covered when not in use?
I leave the brushes in the paint until I’m finished working at the end of day, then I clean them and cover the paint
Thanks!
So beautiful.. love it on the journal ❤
