Same here or maybe even more. I always remembered a racing game with powers but probably this was it. I still remember the cars being slightly different and having some other powers that I don't see in this video. I should probably buy grip. But I don't think the multiplayer exists anymore sadly.
I lost count on how many hours i've played this. Pc Gaming was, like, ''rudimental'', but there was something about it that doesn't exist anymore. I miss it like hell
games where made to be fun , now are all super mega realistic graphics, nothing else, sad but true.
Back then, games were true passion projects and meant to be as fun as possible. Nowadays it’s all about making money and the use of possibility addictive mechanics to keep you wanting to spend money

Graphics looked amazing back in the day. Loved the different environments. Game play was so simple and effective. Roll cage rocks.
This is such a literal ride down the memory lane for me... At 03:14 you had the perfect defence. You drive normally like you would, let the rocket pass you, and just when it's about to hit you, you deploy the spiral rockets you had - no damage, continue the race :)
So good to see these race tracks again. Like seeing old friends. Takes me back to 1999 playing my flatmate on PC. Great game! He mostly won!
I remember that from abit over 20 years ago when I had the demo of that for the PS1. My friend came over and we would play the first level and spend hours tearing down the buildings and then restarting the demo to do it all over and of course play "Fireworks" where we collected different weapons pick-ups and then drove onto the beach that is just besides the road aim for the slope and basically drive up into the sky and then we would fire off our weapons to make it look like fireworks...the simple joys of being 7 years old.
I was a bit older and enjoyed that as well with my friends on a PS1. Epic soundtrack by Fatboy Slim.

@@toshido_yamada GRIP had an early access thing in 2015 when they announced it.
PRO-Tip: when you are first and the homing missile is shot at you, you can destroy it with drill-rockets. the moment when it turns back on you you need to go streight forward. you have a pretty good chance to hit it
Me and my childhood friend used to play the multiplayer split screen mode for hours. Sometimes his little sister would join us and we would play with the screen split on 3 and on one keyboard haha
Who wants to play this --- look for Rollcage REDUX! It will run even on Win10 with improved effects and no lags. Author of originak game rebuilded it for modern systems.

played this on amd 586 with diamond monster 3d Woodoo 1 ... that game, turok and forsaken were something graphicly incredible at the time

Ah, the memories, was reminded of the struggles with a voodoo 3dfx card and its glide drivers back in the days after seeing this video. : )

I can't remember the name and try searching, it's all most 10+ years then I gave up, but today I searching another retro racing game name Powerslide, finally rollcage appears related to that game, so happy I can unlock my hardest childhood game 😂 😂😂

@@Squakenet Me and someone were arguing on TIkTok about the originality of the three new Fortnite game modes. The other person was saying that both LEGO and Rocket Racing were original whilst Festival wasn't. After making a sarcastic remark which pointed out how it's kind of stupid to say that the modes that were created specifically for competition against other, similar games are original, he for some reason really focused in on how Rocket Racing was original for its physics and unique gameplay (i.e. sticking to the tops of tunnels). That is when I wanted to find a racing game that played similarly to Fortnite's racing game, which is when I found this gameplay footage which looks almost exactly like Rocket Racing just without the Rocket League cars and the modern graphics.
I looked up, I remember those days - began to cry

holy shit this game was good in my childhood
it was fun to mess around in this game's demo for hours, but the vehicle was hard to steer (too much oversteering if i remember correctly)
