    At 04:09 the miters are NOT 45 degrees - because of the tapered wedge fitted to the back the purfling mitered angles are slightly above 45 deg and slightly less than 45. So when one uses the mirror trick to gauge the angles remember 45 deg will not provide a good fitting mitered joint in the purfling! Great tip of using the mirror finish though I'll look at doing that myself but only to help mark where the cut needs to be - i'll use a sharp scraper blade to cut the purfling rather a chisel!!

    Thanks. I did mine in a different, much less efficient order! Next time I will get the end wedge in before I route my binding channels. Thankfully mine still came out pretty good!

    Thanks the great tip. Do you need a particular type of metal to get the mirror finish? And how fine do you go? 16000 grit stone?
