In California the minimum wage per hour is 16 USD (on 2024) so an 8 hours work / gig with the bare minimum salary is 128 USD per day (around 2850-2950 USD per month). So, 15 USD for THAT amount of delicious chinese food?, SIGN ME IN!!! 🥡
Just go to a place that looks like an old strip mall find the Hong Kong or Chinese thing with red letters they always do it because they have more food and places like Panda Express have more people so yeah

I got a place near me that has a lunch special that's 6.50 after tax, they don't stuff it quite as much but I get at least 2/3 that food and a can of soda which is pretty good for less than half the price

to be completely honest, this doesn’t seem like a bad deal for $15. especially since panda express’ taste is hit or miss, and more than half of the time they don’t even fill your box up all the way. they give you small portions for like $11-12 (probably around $13 after tax) but this place fills the box up all the way for $15. i agree that it’s justified.
it all depends on where you live. i live in a state with a low cost of living, and i can get that amount of food for $8. if he's in california or a place that has a higher minimum wage than in my state, could be justified

Cooking doesn’t just consume the time and efforts when you cook, you need to buy recipes, prepare them, cook, and then wash your dishes and clean your kitchen which no one likes to do. With that being said, why would I choose going through all of these if I can just buy (likely a better version of) it somewhere?

No, we go here every Sunday since we live nearby and we get the same portion as in the video. These influencers go there to film for content. The staff don't treat these influencers special.
Yes it is always justified 😂 During my break for lunch I always go to a near by Chinese place to get food and they do the same as you see here for similar pricing. And as a small guy whom eats only one meal a day, its perfect cuz one box of food lasts me 2 days.

We have a local place near us under new management. It was once one of the most overpriced and mid American Chinese food. New owners have some serious passion. Lowered the prices, updated the ingredients, way upped the portion sizes....and they have been JAMMING ever since. Thier pepper steak, egg foo young, and crab rangoon is better than any i have found outside of Chinatown in Boston.
