Fun fact: Hylos currently is in the top 3 highest winrate hero in all ranks and mythic+, and top 11 in mythical glory+ and seing that, I don't understand why his pick rate doesn't go up. yet.
His a counter pick like Lolita he's usually pick 3rd or 4th. In high elo comp . But not as a tank but a core/hyper.
Fun fact, he has the high winnrate is because he's rarely picked and whenever players choose him it is because they see high chance of countering their enemies's line up after seeing some of the enemy's heroes.
Win rate doesnt directly increase pick rate. Many unpopular heroes have high win rate than meta heroes, mainly because they are not fun enough to play, take hylos as example, unlike alice who has more control satisfaction, he is just walking around and his basic attack does nothing, all he can do is wait for the enemy to die and run around them. Another example is carmilla, this hero is always not as fun as other tanks and also support, she was popular once because her adjustments made her too strong and op
I never play hylos but when I pick it I always win 😂. Even when I got troll team, that somehow still mystery 😅.

I've been using Hylos for quite a while recently and I can confidently say that it has a been a blast playing him now. The new buffs really did him good, along with the new Dominance Ice he's pretty much the most annoying tank you can face. You can even solo Heroes if you really try Hahahhaa.
he really is strong, but remember that time when twilight armor had mana and true damage AOE? hylos was a monster
Hylos is pretty strong currently with this buff. He can only solo heroes that will commit to fight him face to face but nothing can be done on agile and heroes with slow immunity.
i build him w/ CoD, FoA and Oracle + Revitalize for the spell, most fun i ever had
hes a pretty capable tank qnd can also slay immobile marksmen
Even before the buff of his mana consumption, he able to solo kill any squishy hero as long he has the lead or atleast equal/even (even againts mm). Clearing jungle creep? You can. Solo clearing wave? You can too. But the thing is, you need especially guardian helmet to achieve it (cursed helmet for pve, dire-hit for pvp). The downside is hylos not really flexible for building the first 3 main item
And i still dont know why they choose mana consumption for 2nd skill to buff him instead just give more damage or more sustain. Did they forget the possibility him to have (big) lead while have blue buff at same time? The mana consumption of 2nd skill is the way to keep him to be freely switching from dive to brawl tank to counter him beside keep distance from him or without buying any %health damage item
Have you tried him with the new CoD and Thunder Belt? The hybrid defense stack every time he deals magic damage is literally custom made for his S2. Plus TB gives EVEN MORE slow on his basic attack. Dom Ice, IQW, TB, CoD, Immo sounds like a recipe for unescapable Hylos.

Thunder belt passive only procs when you do a normal attack to enemy hero every 10 seconds.
You can try Hylos in the exp lane with sprint, take 2nd skill lvl 1 and proxy the wave right away (use sprint). oh also take the explode tank emblem ( +tank emblem with and armor / discount). buy the fire orb first so u dont have to spent mana for clearing (im fully aware about hylos passive). play aggressive once your sprint is up so u can pull the enemy team agro towards you, hence space for your own team. your enemy may keep the gold lead with crab / jungle creep but you always have the pressure after clear. always open enemy jungle to see their position. banned enemy : cici, and another kiting / constant dps hero. item : boots, fire orb -> domi , ice queen. free (finish orb / thund belt / red staff for tanky enemy, armour, other tank item, etc).
Hylos is great before and after update because in my build I always use clock of destiny for 2k+ hp because of his passive and the concussive blast/ shockwave just make it a nightmare for squishy heros because its hp scaling but since this update dropped the mana usage for Hylos is significantly dropped he could tank more than usual because not using his hp and rushing to the enemy turret with this hp can make your whole team go for the gank (if they ever listen XD) paired up with revitalize and ult makes me almost immortal (if it weren't for that Karrie)
New Dominance should help against Karrie. I also personally like using weakness finder and focus on slowing and stunning enemies rather than doing dmg

idk but hylos 2nd skil with IQW doesn't work, the ice icon on enemies didn't show up, only on first initial hits,which mean u hv to turn on N off iw u want to trigger the slow effect, or is it just a visual bug ?
The reason is he has no way to close the gap and having hp based survival is just not good enough, especially when Karrie is still dominant, Trinity is as powerful as ever and Dominance got the equivalent of a nerf for most tanks.
Wdym they buff base def of all tank and not touch the health growth,that mean instant tankiness without gold spend
@@itsallinthepast2944 Doesn’t matter much for most tanks. DHS doesn’t care and Hylos isn’t like Belerick where he can fight back even after DHS is purchased. Hylos only has his ult to get in close and even then, he only gets a movespeed buff. If he had a way to get in close without ult then he could be quite good.

@@potatobang7713 No, I’m just a tank player who knows what tanks are good and if you want me to be brutally honest: Hylos is TRASH compared to the other options. There is ZERO reason to pick him over Tig, Atlas or even Edith because he just doesn’t offer anything valuable enough. His stun is his only way to get in close, he has no mobility, loses HARD to DHS, his attack speed reduction and slow is, ironically, too slow to be applied, has to weaken himself just to use his skills without any benefit, and he has nothing besides big hp bar but again, that’s not enough to be usable. That’s not enough to even tank damage most of the time.
It’s not a tank meta. It’s a specific hero meta that just so happens those heroes are tanks. If it was a true Tank meta then you’d see other tanks consistently besides Tig, Atlas and Barats.

I thinks its backward, since hylos second skill will slow down attack speed and added with dominance ice. It will be more nightmare on karrie since she rely on attack speed and will be hitting hylos like very slow and proc passive less. Only it will nightmare on hylos when karrie is free hiting hylos.
I've been picking him, both as roamer and jungler for a while whenever it needed to. And yes, I love his current buffs. And I love bullying enemies with hylos. You guys should try 😁
He is fun to play especially when the enemies have 3 or more melee heroes, if only the revamped CoD comes together with the buff it would be great

Does blade armor's refect dmg count as skill dmg? If it does then how about using him with dominance ice, blade armor and ice queen wand since blade armor also has a 15% movement speed debuff for 1s

Reason for that is.... setting is all on the game, especially for tank roamers. Mino, Edith, Grock, Tig and even Khuf and Atlas can gap over him when it comes to setting fights.
If he tries to go EXP lane, lane clearing and rotating are a big challenge for him due to his slow clearing and limited mobility.

I usually use the revitalize, it's VERY usefull due to the heal plus the hylos ult and with tank build with a clock of destiny as the 3rd or 4th slot, with my build i can get to 13k+ hp with a decent defense
I feel hylos can actually try exp lane in this current meta (you can try getting clock of destiny first item for more lane clear ability + heal from lvl up) but that is if your teammates allow you to.
Maybe it would be nice if they could add Xavier’s old passive to Hylos. The one where they will get immobilized by standing next to him for a certain amount of time. That will be a good buff.
A buff that would probably make him in the ban section till they nerf hylos to the ground

I always use hylos when the enemy uses a mid that is not agile like Nana, luoyi, vexana. I will crash into a crowd of enemies and focus on attacking their mid, but will retreat when they attack my team's dmg dealer because I as a roamer have to protect the team. Basically, I focus on offense when playing this centaur

I love that they are finally buffing specialty tanks. Group set tanks have too much power rn, probably always will. But I’m at least glad that some other tanks will be a bit stronger.

I wish Moonton would either buff the passive effects of the def items or drop their prices especially since the nerf is very significant to non tank heroes.
Thats why they did it, to nerf fighters and mms who rely on heavy tank build while still being able to deal high dmg such as karrie or aldous.
My Hylos is weird. Instead of initiating as a frontline, I flank their escape using my ult. Who needs a set up when everyone is slowed to oblivion?
Clock of Destiny and Dominance combination still the best option for me, i'll just leave IQW for 15K max HP build.

tried him twice and he's great against karrie and claude once you get into their faces and have dominance they cant melt you as fast as before
You don't need to get in their face as long as their attack hits you (well you need to get in Claude's face for his attack to hit you)

Hylos ult needs a buff (reduced control for 50% and immune to slow effect). Is it too broken? Not really and tbh, the HP regen for hylos is ASS when it comes to his ult. It would be better if teammate can heal with his ult too (+def)

I feel like the item Malefic Roar is pretty ineffective this current patch(im using marksmen heroes). Like, the enemy tank has like 400 def and 20% Physical pen. Add dmg is bearly game changing, it hinders my role as a marksman useless against enemy tank line-up.
it's still good, probably has slightly lower/higher dmg compared to BoD if you don't hit enemies below 50% hp ofc... base 20% pen and 0.125% add for each phys def is not good compared to DG which is 40% + 0.1% each magic def but it's still worth to get, this is based on the fact that most heroes has 80 phys defense on lvl 15 add a boots they can reach ~120 add another defense item they can reach ~160 even against 80 phys def it give 22 pen which is higher than HS/Heptasea which is 15 pen.
The only bad things about Hylos is his Ultimate. There's almost no difference except Slow, Mov Spd & Heal Amount
Yeah a bit underwhelming compared to other tanks. But it will make closing the gap easier for low mobility fighters. Imagine Terizla suddenly running at ur face while ur slowed

hylos doesnt need a buff imo, every match i play i get high score gold or mvp rank and my kda is always around 10 2 10. no i dont steal, i deal ~20% dmg :D
I wish they've also changed his passive a little bit since mana items are mostly magic items and building so much magic items is not ideal for hylos

@@alemansprototypeguy I played a recent match with him, and his damage is way too high in early game, this spamming skill gameplay is boring and way too easy. Need to nerf gloo as well, but he's most played in exp lane, they should give him fighter role
@@vinnyreis3016 Based on my experience with Gloo, though he can deal tons of damage, he doesn't clearly need an nerf. Either go near turrets especially if he's attached to you or dodge the Goos, then he's done for.
