อิสยาห์ 6:1-8
ในปีที่กษัตริย์อุสซียาห์สิ้นพระชนม์ ข้าพเจ้าเห็นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประทับ ณ พระที่นั่งสูงและเทิดทูนขึ้น และชายฉลองพระองค์ของพระองค์เต็มพระวิหาร เหนือพระองค์มีเสราฟิมยืนอยู่ แต่ละตนมีปีกหกปีก ใช้สองปีกบังหน้า และสองปีกคลุมเท้า และด้วยสองปีกบินไป ต่างก็ร้องต่อกันและกันว่า "บริสุทธิ์ บริสุทธิ์ บริสุทธิ์ พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา แผ่นดินโลกทั้งสิ้นเต็มด้วยสง่าราศีของพระองค์" และรากฐานของธรณีประตูทั้งหลายก็สั่นสะเทือนด้วยเสียงของผู้ร้อง และพระนิเวศก็มีควันเต็มไปหมด และข้าพเจ้าว่า "วิบัติแก่ข้าพเจ้า เพราะข้าพเจ้าพินาศแล้ว เพราะข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนริมฝีปากไม่สะอาด และข้าพเจ้าอาศัยอยู่ในหมู่ชนชาติที่ริมฝีปากไม่สะอาด เพราะนัยน์ตาของข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นกษัตริย์ คือพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา" แล้วตนหนึ่งในเสราฟิมบินมาหาข้าพเจ้า ในมือมีถ่านเพลิง ซึ่งเขาเอาคีมคีบมาจากแท่นบูชา และเขาถูกต้องปากของข้าพเจ้าพูดว่า "ดูเถิด สิ่งนี้ได้ถูกต้องริมฝีปากของเจ้าแล้ว ความชั่วช้าของเจ้าก็ถูกยกเสีย และเจ้าก็จะรับการลบมลทินบาป" และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินพระสุรเสียงขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า "เราจะใช้ผู้ใดไป และผู้ใดจะไปแทนเรา" แล้วข้าพเจ้าทูลว่า "ข้าพระองค์นี่พระเจ้าข้า ขอทรงใช้ข้าพระองค์ไปเถิด"

In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings. With two he covered his face. With two he covered his feet. With two he flew. One called to another, and said, “Holy, holy, holy, is Yahweh of Armies! The whole earth is full of his glory!” The foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of Armies!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar. He touched my mouth with it, and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin forgiven.” I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
2 Chronicles 4: 7,8,19-22: Within King Solomon’s Temple, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place (Holy of Holies), are the furnishings of the temple. The golden lampstands, the tables of the Bread of the Presence (or Showbread, Shewbread), the golden altar of incense and the ornately decorated walls.
