- Mick Flannery & Lisa Hannigan - Christmas Past
Recorded on December 8, 2008
"Other Voices - Songs From A Room"
St James' Church, Dingle, Co Kerry, Ireland

Lyrics and music by Mick Flannery
Snowmen in the field I see
ride the coal-bags down the hill with me
hey look you've got Rudolf's nose
put my hat on you'll get cold
Now let's have a snowball fight
I always want you on my side
sit down by the fire with me
let's try and climb the Christmas tree
You and I alone will go
and I will walk you all the way back home
and we will talk about our school and things
and I will see you tomorrow please
Oh yeah I forgot this part
this is where you break my heart
you told me that you loved me then...
did you really mean it friend?
And don't go telling me lies love,
tell me the truth love...
tell me the truth love...
cause that way I won't have to know love
won't have to see love,
won't have to ask the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Unreal, song, writer, voice(s)..... Love this song. Thumbs up if you agree!!!
oh,my godness, why irish people always have err... such genuine, surperbly talented, naturally attractive, uniquely thoughtful artists, when chance comes to me to be there,at least i'm working on that consecutively.
"Oh yeah i forgot this part
This is where you break my heart"
That time of year again. Will always love this song.
Cannot stop hitting "replay" on this video...its just the perfect combination of two brilliant singers that sit there and play and sing so effortlessly.
Still Pure Gold....even after all this time...❤
I am so completely, helplessly in love with Lisa Hannigan. I should be so lucky.
Mick hits one home run after another. He and Lisa nail it. Beautiful!!!!!!!!!

Gawd, what a beautiful song. I've been replaying it over and over. It has so much innocence and experience - a whole lifetime summed up in under 3 minutes. And then these two voices - so naturally and unrestrainedly together like a hand that parts the curtains.
Absolutely amazing.the Pair of them.Lisa Hannigan is so beautiful and talented. Mick has a great voice too.
it's a shame that only around 500 people watched this video.. this deserves so much more views... ilcorvojo2 thank you so much for all the great videos.. your channel is my favorit channel on youtube. thank you.

BREATHE .. KEEP BREATHING ,, to be seen to seen in the dark . in the hear,t not in the fluster of fear and words, reflections , in past and hope and CHRIST..MASS.. in gathering ..in hope ... but unseen
Such a beautiful song!
i love the way she says "love" :))
beautiful, words cannot describe
Really beautiful song.
Serious chills going down my spine right now. Check out Rónán ó snodaigh's 'tigh mo mháthair'. Same buzz.
Hauntingly beautiful X
Wow the lyrics are incredible! Merry Christmas all x
The Irish really know how to write a sad song
Yes we do. Because we feel, live and mean every word we sing
That was so humble, yet so incredible.
Our christmas song for ever and ever
What a song!! Heard it on Today FM at Christmas and been looking for it since!! They have to release it at Christmas.
My favorite Christmas song... And I don't even celebrate Christmas, lol!
Pure talent.
janey, your so right. ireland is full of great singer song writers. and they just dont get the air time. like these 2, the frames, bell x1 etc
Over the years it has become probably my favorite Christmas song!
not only because it has wonderfully beautiful lyrics and theme but also because its a song that during Christmas dinner with all relatives i can still listen and enjoy knowing they can to!
Such things only made in anyway famous by Irish artaists such as Glen Hansard and Damien Rice!
thank you :). I love the melody and lyrics are as pretty as sad. Those two are good together.
i love her voice,
simply amazing :-))))
I could be wrong but I think she's actually playing a clock...amazingly well. You can kinda see she's moving the hands of the clock to chime and the notes repeat. It behoves the mind. I was asking myself the same question.
Truly beautiful.
Me too!! Super song, I love it.
beautiful as always.

Do you know where to find the lyrics ? thank you
How is called the thing she's holding ???
I think your idea of a thumb piano is a better guess than a clock. I was well off with my guess.
chords??
what piano is he playing?
mick looks kinda like the dude from epic meal
@vinnothelizard sits straight? looks people in the eyes? What a strange comment. He does sing to an audience. Nerves - Mick? Ahahaha
@matchingsky no, I can guarantee you right now that we are most certainly not all naturally talented, unfortunately!
is he suffering with his nerves?? he never sits straight and looks people in the eyes!!! i think he has issues!! someone help this man!!
