when speaking of snakes @wickenswickedreptiles , some one should totally make a video explaining the rating system that you see out there to help people become educated to see if they really need to buy the 500 boa or python. what is this 50% hep p+ etc....
Every video about cresties: "They won't destroy the plants."
My crestie: "Hold my beer."
Pangea*
i always love when a pet does something that is explicitly Not Supposed To Be A Thing for them. ur crestie is truly out here just for the chaos
Got a Normal ball as a juvenile 20 years ago and put him in 5x2x2 right out the gate he’s always been super active and used every bit. Little does he know I’m building a new 8x3x4 for him. And he just got new acracdia LumenIZE led&uvb lighing.
Since 2021 I have been doing my homework on reptiles, snakes, and amphibians. I didn't know what I was going to get, but now I do and I'm so excited. We are going to get a Bearded Dragon from a rescue, when I have everything ready for at least 6 months. That's for all of the enclosure, lighting, and substrate. I'm so excited!!!!💜💚
I love to hear this!
I'd also recommend looking into reptile humane societies/rescues. At my local one the adoption fees range from $10-$65 depending on type of animal, you know the money is going towards helping the rescue keep doing what they're doing, and you are giving an animal a second chance. :)
Just bought a crestie at a local reptile show. He/she is about half grown and was $75. I bought the enclosure and one of the hides which doubles as a feeding ledge on clearance. One of the major decor items and the plants were also on clearance. I took my time and bought things as I saw them at a good price. It still adds up, but doing it slowly, it wasn't as painful as buying all at once.
I’m so happy that you said don’t cheap out on the setup because I had “friends” that would have a normal Ball Python in a 40 gallon! And even when I started in the hobby I was like this (since I have changed of course). Thanks for giving us poor people with some options 😂.
whats wrong with a 40 gallon ~.~
@JudahJamesJr Nothing wrong with a 40 gallon tank for, say, a hognose snake or leopard gecko. Lots wrong to put a full-grown bearded dragon in one.
@@JudahJamesJr Ball pythons usually use more space than a 40 gallon... they like under ground hides and are somewhat aboreal if you give them the chance... sure you can keep one in a 40g (you can keep almost anything in a 40g) but you should strive to give your pet the best enclosure possible and a 40g compared to what they could have is tiny and very limiting
Bearded dragons are amazing and the bond I had with mine was on the level of a dog if not more. Rest in peace my Pancake. Much love to your Diamond.
My 75 year old Dad just adopted the adult ball python that I was fostering.
The PetSmart near me had ball pythons for $50 as a special. I bought two and gave them homes. They're living their best lives now being loved every day.
Bearded dragons are definitely not boring mine is active, he jumps runs. Always looking what I’m doing. Mine has a terrarium 220 cm wide x140 cm deep x120 cm high. You should see him when he gets his insects in his enclosure 😂
a lady at a reptile expo in Texas was selling them. She had a Lilly White baby she was giving away, the tickets for the raffle was 60 bucks and there was one raffle ticket left and somebody came by and took the last one while I was asking my mom. The lady saw I started to cry. She took a higher end, more beautiful, Lilly White and gave it to me for free. I was so happy. To this day he's still growing and eating. He's my favorite reptile in my house besides my williamsi
Glad Emily is still happy and alive or whatever you named it
"...this is true in snakes and in my relationship, also..."
Me: spits cookie across the room and falls off chair laughing.
Hahahaha
Carolina anoles,$7.00 each.😄LOL! Enjoyed your small male joke in the python bit. Well done!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Also I have taken care of a Bearded Dragon, and I owned a Red Legged Walking Frog for over 2 years. He was amazing!
that's wicked
I LOVE DIAMOND! Beardies aren't boring, they rule. I'd have one yesterday if they were smaller- I live in a small space.
They are smaller! Its called a Rankin's dragon or pygmy bearded dragon. Another type of bearded dragon but smaller.
I have a pair of them in a 100x50x50cm and they are amazing. Similar character to the central bearded dragon (which is often called just bearded dragon).
They are more social animals that live in groups in the wild so you should have at least a pair. But for the rest they are as relaxed and tame as a regular beardy.
Depending on where you live they are more expensive and more difficult to find.
Clint's Reptiles has a great 'Best pet lizard' on the Rankin's dragon you can watch.
My Petsmart and Petco sell bearded dragons for $25 as babies and anything over 70 g is free because people stopped buying them😂
Yea, they’re basically ready to pay us to take them in my area 😭
They’ve sold exclusively CB for over 30 years. Same with Leos, and you can easily get common morphs at the same price as regulars.
Worst pet reptiles under $50 list?? Great video by the way Adam!
Green iguanas are guaranteed number 1 on that list 😂. I see them SO often for $30 or less.
@@AsaGoode-u7z I agree!!
@@AsaGoode-u7zyeah and majority of them live in horrible conditions
Can you do a video for Green Anole care and talk about alternatives items for their enclosures?
You are the best RUclips ever have a super day have a great day have a nice day
I got my Pac-Man frog at my local reptile shop for my birthday about a month ago. It was an albino and I got him for 25 bucks and it was so worth it.
Edit: I also got my first ball python about a month before that for 0 dollars. I just had to pay shipping but I was ordering another animal with it anyways. :)
I downloaded a couple Pac Man games on my phone for free.
Pac-Man frogs are such silly little guys
Of course I got one that refused to eat but now I have a cool skeleton
Also, you should totally go live this week cuz I have every day off work
Damn!
0:43 that's honestly what I'm more interested in. Not so much the upfront cost, but the time and money that goes into keeping them happy and healthy. My rent is pretty crazy and I have to move around a lot, so perhaps a lizard just isn't the best option for me?
i got mine from petsmart for free, they adopt out beardies all the time, if they had tail rot or had a toe or more amputated, i work at petsmart, and we actually care about our animals (at my location) we handle them all the time, we get them the care they need and we dont just give them away to whoever, i used to hate petsmart but the one i work at gave me mad respect
I keep a Pac Man video game on my phone. I had two, but I turned one of them loose to free up space because I wasn't playing it anyway.
Another fun and educational mini class!
Thanks Adam👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey I got an question,
I bought an 6 year old female ball python cuz it need a new home. But she doesn’t want to eat anything, so what should I do? It’s been 9 days now.
yall guys idk what to name my crested gecko! I have some ideas but I need more! comment down below for a girl or a boy name!
some ideas that I got : smaug, draco, nagini and kukulkan! idk wich too pick .
I love my bearded dragon he has a silly personality, very social loves to be anywhere I am ❤❤❤❤
My 4 foot 55 gallon fish tank just sprang a leak, you mentioned that dragons need a larger space, would a 48x13x21 be sufficient for a bearded dragon?
Hey Adam you should check out viper gecko’s, to me they’re similar to dune gecko’s but cooler in my opinion
I was going to comment "corn snake" then checked morphmarket. How are normal balls less than normal corns now?! (overbreeding but it's still crazy)
the beardies at my petsmart tend to be like... 50$
Nice!
Here in Australia, our local pet stores sell beardies for $245.00 AUD. 😮 just your standard central bearded dragon. I live in a country town, so don't know what the prices are in city stores.
Like the video's bro I really learned a lot from the Chanel. I have bin Watching every video for 3 years now
I really appreciate that
My brother got a butterfly agama for 30 bucks. It's by far is his coolest lizard and he has like 10 lizards.
they are so cool and underrated
Kenyan Sand Boa. They can be had for 50 bucks even with morphs and their enclosure needs are really inexpensive.
They arent just cages full of dirt, i think you need to give them more credit
Iv'e been waiting for this list for so long 🎉
Enjoy!
I got my first ball python at Petco! She was a few weeks old and she's now 5 years old and around 6 feet! I got her on a black Friday for 35 bucks! She's a great eater and never goes off food must of got lucky!
Lucky? You scored. A 6 foot BP is HUGE!
I still want the sand geckos impossible to find
I would love a “better gecko” list!
coming up!
'Pacman frogs are abit boring' i basicly think that they are too
Ypu're not alone my friend
Why do people always think endless sand dunes when they think desert? Deserts are mostly, usually scrublands
so very true
I really hope dune geckos become captive bred more often and more mainstream
Me too!
So its a diet deutsch flute fum 😅😂😂
Id say the ball python going off feed is a bigger issue than most think. I see it asked about so so so often. People tag me all the time with someone having that issue. That can be the start lf a bad deal for the animal if that keeper gives up. Now youre looking at an animal thats being rehomed over and over. It should still be on the list but that issue should definitely be a big asterisk
12:57 - I like my $50 CBB African house snake more than ball pythons ...
I have so many dragons and have a big Komodo dragon 🐲
I bought my leopard gecko from PetSmart and she was 17 dollars
I bought my Leo from petco😮
Not even close with the prices here in Sweden unfortunately. Double or nearly double the price.
Diamond is quadzilla over there!
He’s a unit
We want a get these geckos instead video
I love lizards❤️
Same!
Where are y'all getting ball pythons for so cheap???
I heard you can find some at local reptile expo but just look around and look on websites for prices
#4 All hail technotoad
40 Gallons is the bare minimum but recommend is 120 gallons
Tokkok have 4pic
0:55 Why is it priced in USD if you are trying to help Canadian customers buy budget reptiles? 🤨 Do your prices in Canadian Dollars; be proud of our maple money. 🍁💵
8:45 I am honestly not fond of species that can potentially have their tails drop off, and then not even be able to regenerate... 😬 A shame because crested geckos do look pretty cool. 🦎
12:45 Yay! Glad to see Royal Pythons take #1 on this list. 👑🐍
12:53 "Male are smaller than females. This is true in snakes and my relationship as well" 😂👏🏾🤣 Short boy, tall girl! 😝
Beardies are like 150-200 bucks here...
No intro?
You love them? So why do you handle them like a thing?
what?
@@WickensWickedReptiles What do you think are you doing with your Pogona? Playing rollercoaster? Do you think it's natural for such an animal to be waved around, like a toi-airplane? Perhaps it looks better in such videos. But if I talk about loving my pet reptile, I also treat it that way. More cautious and gentle! Not like a toy.
If you don't want a crested gecko but want a crested gecko.... get any of the other new caledonian geckos instead, they all have very similar personalities and come in various sizes shapes and weights (fat boys leachies) and have the literal same care requirements
I'm not sure but it seems like most venomous snakes the males are bigger like the king cobra I think puff adders Rhino Vipers gaboon Vipers I'm pretty sure all the males are bigger than the females so I think you are a little confused LOL
*Under 50 for the baby animal; under 500 for the vivarium and lighting setup, vitamin supplements, food, decor, and other miscellany.
Frogs arent reptiles...?
nope, they are amphibians
Under $50 is still a lie cuz most people gotta pay an additional $50 for shipping on morph market so you're still spending over $100+ on an animal no matter what
IF you buy from an online source
It's only a lie because u don't step your foot out of the house. There are these things called Stores. Your claim is because u believe there is only an online market
I've been to quite a few reptile expos and it's truly unbelievable how inexpensive many reptiles are there. At NARBC this year, there were tables full of $20 leopard geckos, $30 cresteds, $30-$40 normal ball pythons and bearded dragons.
You can also save money by finding and buying online and then drive to pick them up! I've done that plenty! New pet plus an adventure.
Also in regards to the online aspect, it's not a "lie" - that's just how buying something online works? You buy something and then pay an additional amount for shipping. Even if you look at the shipping as one overall amount you saved up for, it's still the original purchase price of the item...plus shipping.
And even so, he very clearly stated that there would still be other costs, such as food, lighting, enclosures, etc. It's not like Adam was claiming that the entire total costs related to any of these reptiles is $50 or under, which would be an insane thing to claim.
Really didn't think about putting a vape sponsor on a video about cheap reptiles that kids are gonna watch, huh?
I say in the ad it’s not a vape… three times. Haha. It’s a flavoured cartridge with ZERO chemicals. Imagine balling up a mint leaf in your hand and inhaling the air. That’s it.
Pushing a product that's totally irrelevant to our hobby? Sellout.
pac man frogs are not reptiles 😐
as stated in the video, I like to include amphibians in these lists
🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
The first sentence hits hard... i spend almost $2000 on an enclosure for my ball python which i literally spend $60 on because i wanted it to be huge
The good thing about "cheap" reptiles (except green iguana) is they all make really great pets... most of them are so cheap because they are good pets and everyone wants them
well said!
In snakes, males are smaller than females, and in my relationship too.
Great line.
I was given a bearded dragon in a 36 gallon enclosure earlier this year. He was about 10 inches long at the time. He’s now 22 inches and getting ready to move into his bio active 215 gallon custom built cabinet. Most important thing I’ve learned so far is that no matter how much I thought I was ready to have multiple reptiles in a collection. I am not, but we’re gonna make sure that Arnie has a kick ass place to live and be awesome.
Made my mom watch this with me so she could get some ideas for Christmas lol. We already have a lot of tanks.
One of these days I really hope to see you at NARBC in Texas! I got to meet Emily, Ed, and Dav this year, which was awesome, BUT I was hoping you'd be there too! You're one of our household favorites. Thank you for all you do!
“This is true in ball pythons and my relationship” had me rollin 😂😂😂
Crocodile gecko or Moorish gecko would be another good option under $50. Similar to a pac man frog in that he’s only fun during feeding time though
Great video!
I got my dragon from someone that got her from an old roommate. She was very old already and had lived in a 40 gallon all her life and never handled. I put her in a 4x2x2 gave her everything she needed and pretty much spoiled her. She recently died and it sucks. I wish I could have had her longer.
Dude that’s my exact lily white crested gecko in the thumbnail!!!
Is it!? That’s awesome! I just told my thumbnail guy to find a pretty one to use haha
@@WickensWickedReptilesYeah that’s the picture they used for him on morph market where I bought him. He’s doing great to this day and given me many children.
Your gecko looks amazing
I know they ain't reptiles, but I love frogs and a lot of them are $50 and under... but I can personally never justify buying them from online suppliers because the shipping is usually more than the animal itself. :(
I love em too
Im from australia , i havent paid anything for any of my reptiles 🤣 i had the space and my best mate that breeds needed some gone over the years , i went from only being a fish guy to having a , lace monitor , woma python , velvet gecko , blue tongue and a turtle 😂 so you can definitely get reptiles for under 50 , but my power bill says otherwise 😂
I have my PacMan Lady in an 18x18 exoTerra with a colony of Dairy Cow isopods that are doing remarkably well. There may even be aome earthworms living in there 🤔 . Leaf litter for them and to give The Lady Gustava some coverage when she wants it.
Super easy, but she is super fun at feeding time. Ill never get rid of her. ❤
Stenodactylus sp. are pretty cool but I prefer Tropiocolotes sp. They share a lot of the same characteristics, they are both communal and fairly non-aggressive but it is just something about Tropiocolotes sp. I also believe, in general, that they are smaller and I do enjoy smaller lizards.
You should do a video on best (most credible) Snake markets online. If you haven’t already ofc
at my petco leopard geckos are 29.99 usd?
Sorry I'm late I've been moving somethings, I'm staying with my mom for a few weeks. Another banger today as always. Have an awesome Monday and see you again on Thursday
I really appreciate that
I was at PetSmart Saturday and they had leos for $20. 🤷🏻♀️
I really enjoy the 'cheap' reptiles, it gives me more $ to make them a great habitat.
Speaking of Petsmart, I was in there getting supplies for my pet and I saw ball pythons for $50. I don’t know if it’s different now but there’s that.
How your videos
Thanks
Lol wickens and Wowman rep fume.
tokok have 4..pic
Fume is ridiculously expensive
2:45 my pet smart had bearded dragons for $35, a ball python for like 50 bucks, and their cheapest gecko was like 7.99. (all geckos were also 50% off)
Once again adam says "basically what im saying is Stenodactylus"
My beardy was around 1000 with all the lights enclosure and all the needs of him
Ha ha…yea I didn’t pay much for my now 7.5 year old bearded dragon. Unfortunately she suddenly became very ill, severely dehydrated and lost a lot of weight. I have spent over $1000 on 2 different exotic pet vets trying to save his life. So, like any pet…don’t forget you have a responsibility to provide health care when it is needed. ❤
50$ for a beardie? Hahah I wish. In Australia (where they are native to) for a wild type Central Bearded Dragon it cost me 150$ for just the baby dragon, and very rarely (at least where I live) do you find people rehoming their reptiles and the one time I did find a rehoming situation, it was for an adult Eastern Bearded Dragon, and for just the lizard it was 80$, the whole set up and everything else was like 700$
I one time got 3 cresties for 50 bucks and a ball python for 30 I got on from some guy’s basement and the other from snake discovery
Just picked up two Western Hognoses at an expo for £110 which is 192 Canadian not bad going I thought.
Prizeback 123
hello, do you have a care guide for Fiji Banded Iguana? ive put a deposit down but struggling to find a list of live plants for the enclosure and feeding regimes etc? Thanks :)
