- hi guys, here's my quickfire feature and review of the 2024 Yamaha FZX Chrome Edition. I give you a quick overview regarding the features and specs of this new Chrome edition FZX and I also share my quick city ride impression as to whether they have slightly tweaked the ride feel of the bike for the model year 2024.

This was my first back in 22 .
For a beginner bike it was excellent.
Though underpowered as heck for a 150cc the seating and rider triangle is superbly comfortable , and the bike is quite nimble too.
The mileage it offers is best in class and the engine is quite literally bulletproof in terms of reliability.
Suspension was in the softer side .
But pain quality was really bad on mine . The paint chipped easily and the metal parts started rusting.
People looking for a cruiser /scrambler type bike under 1.6L tend to go for the bike
To avoid rust is pretty simple, just spray a single thin coat of wd40 on the exposed metal. It stops corrosion by creating a thin barrier, just respray every time you wash it with "soap". This is a cheap yet effective solution.
And ignore this review he clearly misunderstood most of the things, like what a scrambler is or what ethanol is or why or what it does. Retro classic bikes are ageless.
Rust after few months: Moye moye😂

No one bothers about the sunlight reflection we get from chrome, just we need looks from it
It's a good-looking classic shape, this will age really well no matter how many years go by. No different than RE hunter. The only problem for this is the price 160k on road for something that has the same power as a 125cc sub 100k bike is hard to digest. I wish Bajaj gives a retro classic like this bike.
The only thing is that gold wheel is just ugly, needs to come in blacked out wheels. But not a big deal as you can black it out by yourself.
Why not yamaha launching xsr155?

Regarding why they are not launching the xsr155, This is buisness. First they launch r15 relatively cheaper according to sales they increase the price, after some few versions of r15 when they have selled their maximum target they launched the mt15 now their us a version 2. We can expect the launch of xsr after mt 15 v3 launch. Always remember the company's goal is to make money, not satisfy the customers 😊

I think they missed their opportunity .If they release xsr now I don't think it will sell well market is moving towards 400 cc bikes. We have great bikes from Triumph, Honda,RE, KTM even an HD whose gonna buy xsr?
Xsr will still pull good sales. But they seems to be hesitant cause Xsr has powerful engine like Mt 15 and along with that it comes with metal body. So they couldn't put it under 2.2 lakh. And hardly anyone pay more than 2.2 lakh for a 150cc bike.
Xsr will not sell well now.
Fzx is 1.5L ex showroom.
MT 15 is 1.64 L ex showroom.
Ronnin is 1.5-1.6L ex showroom.
Ronnin has more torque than MT and better seat just like XSR.
Ronnin is not successful.
FZ x is easier to maintain.

Chrome color alloy wheel would have matched the overall design of the motorcycle
Yamaha should provide two milk containers as accessories
Horrible scratches after an year or two in India , with people consistently touching the vehicle, kids scratching it in parking. Bad parking practice with tight space everywhere. After looking at this bike, TVS Ronin makes some sense. Yamaha brought this design just for the retro and Indian family's practicality who will ride at 80kmph max , while dont have to struggle with 100 or 110/125cc displacement stress. Good bike for those kind of buyers. But Handlebar adjustment is important, else it is pretty horrible to turn around , just a bad bike with improper handlebar positioning.

Someone from Bajaj please put a retro body similar to Triumph 440x on NS frame...same engine two varients 200 and 160...
yah I also desperately need it. And after watching Tvs Ronin and Hero Maverick, now I can only trust Bajaj. I hope they don't disappoint with retro bikes.

It's launch will eat into the sales of MT-15 & R-15, which company doesn't want.

Boy oh boy. you are getting so many facts wrong. let's start.
These bikes are all called scramblers because of the history of why they were named. My old Bajaj caliber is also a scrambler, so are most of the commuter bikes. It's the frame that determines if a bike can be a scrambler. Which is if there is a sub frame to take the hit on off road it can be scrambler, a adventure bike is also a scrambler. A scrambler is anything that can leave the paved road but is also good on it. In short, it needs to have block tires not slick, ideally it needs to have a sub frame to take a hit of bottoming out on off road.
Ethanol is like half the energy of petrol, and ethanol is highly corrosive. the only reason for using it is, India does not have Crude oil reserves. Ethanol drops performance by a lot. There is one exception in cases of drag race where fuel air mixture and low energy can allow you to burn massive amount of ethanol while keeping the engine way cooler than if you tried with half the petrol.
You do not get what motorcycles are about.

Yamaha Motor India is sleeping on FZ series. Rest manufacturer's are doing much better. I used to be fanboy but now, I feel they are just happy with what they have. Dino sir, you just summed up appropriately the current status of Yamaha Motor India. Disheartening and Disappointing.
