Beautiful guitar! I’ve never played a Verithin that early with the single coil pickups. I really like the small humbuckers on the later ones I have played, very reminiscent of the original pre Les Paul Deluxe Epiphone mini humbuckers that were a bit stronger than the Gibson version. I’m just wondering if these are similar to the Epiphone New Yorker single coils they used before the mini humbucker, it’s hard to tell listening on my phone.
I have a 64 Verithin and played it all thro the 60's in a group . What a lovely guitar. it still plays as good as the day i bought it in 1964
I remember seeing Babyshambles on Jools Holland and the guitarist was playing one of these I believe through a cranked marshall. Crazy tone!!
I had one with a Bigsby in about 1980, it was beat up particularly on the neck. I swapped it for a synth., but I still wish I had it now.
Love my reissued Holfner

Hi Tom. I’ve never played those pick ups so i couldn’t comment. The Hofner toaster pick ups are very bright and distinctive though
I had one for some time, but just could not get comfortable with the neck profile, and eventually moved it on. Sad day, as it was a beautiful guitar
A friend of mine has the 4573 e3 version . What do you think of it?
Very interesting and informative video. Any information on the Hofner 177? Have one since 1972, what's your opinion of these?
Nice video, but next time please record with effects at minimum so we can actually hear the sound of the guitar itself.
Heh Marco! Thanks for watching and commenting. Noted re effects :)
Yes the very thin is the best sound
What s the point in trying to show How à guitar sounds when all I hear is delay, wha, and other effects. Totally meaningless.
I agree. Dudes are all in with their pedals nowadays. I want to hear the clean tones on a sweet amp.
I suppose the build quality of that original, is far superior to the reissue China made models. Eh???
Great video!
