I always loved how the opening cinematic to this game wasn't some shot of a forest or mountains (because that would've spoiled the unique setting of the game). Instead it's what appears to be a book that lists out all sorts of creatures, both real and fantastical. Trico is just one of them. And yet there's that low piano note when he actually appears in the book. It's like the book and the music are saying "This one isn't like the others. It's dangerous. Avoid it at all costs." This may be due to the villagers (where I assume the book is coming from) attitude towards Trico, which I understand, because well, he does kind of steal children.
True! And if you take a closer look, you'd notice that the trico in the book does not have the armor, therefore we can assume that the book was drawn after the story took place. I mean, considering that only the armored tricos stole kids.
It's really crazy. And if you play "Yes" track from Meet Joe Black, you can hear precisely Arvo Pärt's Fratres - alternately the "string orchestra & percussion" part and the "violin and piano" part (1'20 after the intro). Composers borrow other composers all the time. I'm disappointed :)
