I've been waiting for at least 7 years to get this deck and just received mine today. So gorgeous! (Although not a fan of the Empress as it looks distractingly like Paris Hilton, but nonetheless excited to have it lol) Also surprised that with all the flack this deck got over the lack of diversity that she didn't add that in after all these years.
I have been waiting YEARS for Lumina tarot, she hasn’t produced the deck for a long time! So getting the mass produced version is my only option even though I would prefer the indie deck!
Such a beautiful deck. I still like the indie deck better. I love the closeness of it and stronger details. The colours I think are better too xx thank you for showing it Simon xx
I love the independant one because it is closer up and deeper colors/ I didn't like the copyright though but i am definitely getting the mass market one. It is good enough for me. Thank you Simon 🥰Lovely cards 💜💜
Thanks for this, Simon!! The indie was one of my first decks and Lumina will always hold a special place in my heart. It took me a few years to open to reading with the deck (I find it to be a bit blunt/ to the swordpoint) but it's one of my early loves.
I have the French version of this deck produced by Arcana Sacra. They kept the Indie design for the back which I prefer to the one Rockpool has made. Nonetheless Rockpool did a fantastic job (minus the copyright which is a bit annoying) with this deck. You also reminded me that I really need to finally buy the Connected & Free Oracle 😂. Thanks Simon for the comparison 😊 x
Overall I think I prefer the indie edition, the images are much more inviting and the detail is clearer, and I love the unique font. But I absolutely love the new backs and gilding of the mass market. They both have their pros, and neither have any cons to me really.
I think I like the closer images, even though you see a little less. I feel they are more impactful closer up. I also like the original font. I have the second edition, so I'm happy with that.
For me the indie deck is a preference for the close ups and fonts / title colours. However, I think Rockpool have done an amazing work to make this more available.
My copy arrived yesterday and I’m thrilled to have it. I had seen it on your video of ( I think?) your .’favourite of all time’ decks and immediately was enthralled. I nearly bought the French edition and then saw that Rockpool were bringing it out in Sept... so a done deal for me and worth the wait. I happened to have the ‘ Old Ways Magick ‘ deck on my table ( by Naomi Cormack...one of my favourites)...and there was a pairing just waiting to happen...so I’m doubly delighted. Great to see comparison and I really hope that Rockpool bring out the oracle deck.
Thanks for this comparison. I have the indie but I won't use it for other people. I was worried about the quality of the mm and waited to see a comparison. I've pre-ordered it now. It is supposed to arrive in the US on Sept 17.

I totally agree! Good point 😍

I didn’t know that 🙏🏼❤️
Both decks have their own charm. Thanks for sharing the side by side!
I totally agree, and you’re welcome ☺️
Thank you for the side-by-side walk-through, Simon. Always good to see new mass market decks.
@@aspasiarising4732 You’re welcome, lovely ☺️

I initially passed on this one, but seeing it again it is really lovely! Added to the list! Thank you for sharing. ☺
You’re welcome. Hope you enjoy it! 😍
What fab deck. Thanks for sharing Simon ❤
You’re welcome 😊
another for my wishlist, it is amazing

You’re welcome! Where did they put the ©️? I can’t see it?
@@the_hermits_cave On the Rockpool one, the copyright (is it not the right term) that you’ve shown in your video on the side of the card.
@@star_seed_tarot no, that’s the indie that had the copyright on
@@the_hermits_caveAaaah was it? My bad hahaha 🤣 I thought you picked the card from the Mass Market deck. Apologies 😊

Glad it was helpful! Enjoy 😍
In most images I prefer the closeness of the indie deck. It seems more personal and not as detached as the mass market.
I think I like the indie version better. The closer crop feels like it draws you into the cards more.
I agree. The MM is a great affordable option though 😍
The Empress looks like Queen Camilla!
On my list. One of first decks was the Wild and Unknown.
I love the lumina tarot. But I only have the French version😊
What a nice surprise! I'm really interested in this decķ! Seven years ago I got very important reading. This deck was used for it.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful! 😍
I really wanted to love this. But theres just to many pip cards for my liking . I hope they will do connected and free! That would be amazing !
@@Rootedintherealms that’s fair enough. I have a feeling the6 will. 😜
