I love the independant one because it is closer up and deeper colors/ I didn't like the copyright though but i am definitely getting the mass market one. It is good enough for me. Thank you Simon 🥰Lovely cards 💜💜
Enjoy, lovely 🥰
Thank you for this comparison. I am still in the process of going through all my wishlists, and deleting as many decks as possible (without getting them), and videos as this one are always very helpful for this. Seems this deck will have the privilege to stay on its list some time longer.
I actually prefer the mass market version, as I realized, that the indie version is too close up for me. I need some distance between me and the people on the cards ;) . Also, I like it when the cards are not too thick. I only overhand shuffle, and while I have my "techniques" with large cards, or round cards, I struggle shuffling chunky decks.
I have some thoughts about the spider webs being not connected to the borders in the mass market edition:
I think an intact web is always connected somewhere, or it wouldn't keep its shape. So the fact that the connections in the mass market version are fading away doesn't give me an unconnected vibe, but rather the impression that the connection reaches quite far (into past/ future/ time/ space/ universe/ DNA....) and we can only see (or sense) so far. Even if the connections seem to fade, there is still an invisible thread. But there is also hope for "bad connections" . They can become so thin, and far, and sometimes they can rip, and we need to repair or reanchor.
But even if there is no rip, we can put a different anchoring point in between, to secure the web, and then cut off the thread behind.
Whichever kind of "reanchoring" happens or is chosen, the shape of the web will always stay having been affected by the original anchoring point, but we are no longer being controlled, pulled or supported by the initial point. (which can be good or bad)
I've been waiting for at least 7 years to get this deck and just received mine today. So gorgeous! (Although not a fan of the Empress as it looks distractingly like Paris Hilton, but nonetheless excited to have it lol) Also surprised that with all the flack this deck got over the lack of diversity that she didn't add that in after all these years.
I totally agree! Good point 😍
I have been waiting YEARS for Lumina tarot, she hasn’t produced the deck for a long time! So getting the mass produced version is my only option even though I would prefer the indie deck!
I didn’t know that 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you for the side-by-side walk-through, Simon. Always good to see new mass market decks.
@@aspasiarising4732 You’re welcome, lovely ☺️
Both decks have their own charm. Thanks for sharing the side by side!
I totally agree, and you’re welcome ☺️
Such a beautiful deck. I still like the indie deck better. I love the closeness of it and stronger details. The colours I think are better too xx thank you for showing it Simon xx
@@dawntheprawn7069 You’re welcome ☺️
I initially passed on this one, but seeing it again it is really lovely! Added to the list! Thank you for sharing. ☺
You’re welcome. Hope you enjoy it! 😍
In most images I prefer the closeness of the indie deck. It seems more personal and not as detached as the mass market.
another for my wishlist, it is amazing
What fab deck. Thanks for sharing Simon ❤
You’re welcome 😊
I have the French version of this deck produced by Arcana Sacra. They kept the Indie design for the back which I prefer to the one Rockpool has made. Nonetheless Rockpool did a fantastic job (minus the copyright which is a bit annoying) with this deck. You also reminded me that I really need to finally buy the Connected & Free Oracle 😂.
Thanks Simon for the comparison 😊 x
You’re welcome! Where did they put the ©️? I can’t see it?
@@the_hermits_cave On the Rockpool one, the copyright (is it not the right term) that you’ve shown in your video on the side of the card.
@@star_seed_tarot no, that’s the indie that had the copyright on
@@the_hermits_caveAaaah was it? My bad hahaha 🤣 I thought you picked the card from the Mass Market deck. Apologies 😊
I think I like the closer images, even though you see a little less. I feel they are more impactful closer up. I also like the original font. I have the second edition, so I'm happy with that.
For me the indie deck is a preference for the close ups and fonts / title colours. However, I think Rockpool have done an amazing work to make this more available.
I completely agree 👍🏼
Thanks for this, Simon!! The indie was one of my first decks and Lumina will always hold a special place in my heart. It took me a few years to open to reading with the deck (I find it to be a bit blunt/ to the swordpoint) but it's one of my early loves.
@@junebugblues Completely agree 😍
Thanks for this comparison. I have the indie but I won't use it for other people. I was worried about the quality of the mm and waited to see a comparison. I've pre-ordered it now. It is supposed to arrive in the US on Sept 17.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy 😍
I love the lumina tarot. But I only have the French version😊
The Empress looks like Queen Camilla!
On my list. One of first decks was the Wild and Unknown.
What a nice surprise! I'm really interested in this decķ! Seven years ago I got very important reading. This deck was used for it.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful! 😍
I really wanted to love this. But theres just to many pip cards for my liking . I hope they will do connected and free! That would be amazing !
@@Rootedintherealms that’s fair enough. I have a feeling the6 will. 😜
My copy arrived yesterday and I’m thrilled to have it. I had seen it on your video of ( I think?) your .’favourite of all time’ decks and immediately was enthralled. I nearly bought the French edition and then saw that Rockpool were bringing it out in Sept... so a done deal for me and worth the wait. I happened to have the ‘ Old Ways Magick ‘ deck on my table ( by Naomi Cormack...one of my favourites)...and there was a pairing just waiting to happen...so I’m doubly delighted. Great to see comparison and I really hope that Rockpool bring out the oracle deck.
Me too 🤞🏼
I think I like the indie version better. The closer crop feels like it draws you into the cards more.
I agree. The MM is a great affordable option though 😍
