At the moment you're using the Reverb for all of your VR simracing? Are you looking into any of the upcoming headsets as a replacement any time soon?

I'm currently using an old oculus CV1, I've been keeping my eye on headsets. If I find a cheap second hand Q2 I will grab it but I'm more interested in a Pico4. Not really ruled anything out yet. Will be a while before an upgrade.

Hey, very useful info for someone like me who's starting out on sim racing and trying to figure out what I need in terms of computer parts. I appreciate you doing this video!! It was very helpful. And believe it or not, for someone who doesn't know much about computers, I actually understood all the terms. You broke it down very well. Seems like your recommendations are a great start in getting a nice and decent budget build.

No problem at all, I had the same problem when I started and couldn't find the information in a term I understood it. Your comment means a lot thank you.

My 16gb ddr4 cl16 ram is enough for sim racing in vr (with quest3) or need upgrade to 32gb?

16GB will work, and it would also depend on the sim you are playing. 100% try it first. You may encounter problems if you have many other programs open in sessions, especially streaming. I would try it before spending money. You can always pick up cheap used RAM if needed.

Thank you for the info. Im looking at trying vr for iracing. Ive acquired a rift S for pretty cheap. My pc specs are a Ryzen 5 5500 and an RX 6600 gpu and 32 gb of RAM. Would this setup run vr fairly smooth for iracing?

@sethkastl1651 it would be a trial and error attempt. You may get it working but would have to turn a lot of settings to min. You will struggle with CPU and GPU power however I would say you'll get enough to test drive on your own, it would be enough to see if you like VR. You may also want to look into openXR it will help run it smoother. Hope it helps

Hello, Im looking to get into sim racing my pc specs are intel i5 12600KF, RTX 4060 @ 8gb VRAM, 16gb ram @ 3200mhz. I have no idea if this will be a decent experience in VR or if I'd be better off just going with a screen set up.

Hi thanks for watching. Since I made that video the 40 series GPUs ha e arrived. Your system could run VR but at the lower end, so you would have to reduce most of the settings to get a smooth experience. Your system will run 1080p screen single screen no problem , not about a 4060 running triples.

what would have to upgraded to get a smoother higher quality picture in VR?

To get a full detail VR experience you will essentially need a full PC upgrade. An i7 processor, and something like a 4070 ti super or 4080 if buying new now. A second hand 3080 or 3090 will also do the job. I also found 32gb RAM better for VR as I quickly ran out when running 16GB.
However, dont be put off. Try your current system and maybe look into openXR to help run it. Make sure you like it before spending thousands.

@narkkkk I'm not sure how used ones are holding up at the moment, I suppose depends on price, wouldn't rule out q2 2nd hand either
