I only discovered this audio recently. To be mentioned as her favorite designer in her voice is incredibly touching and an honor to have worked with her throughout her career 💜
I like listening to her interviews because she was a one smart lady of those days don't mention her soothing voice and kinda of a sweet girl, she was very free in almost all of her interviews to talk about anything she thought will be precious to our ears and most the way she kept explaining her relationship with the Creator our God, make us realise that fame and all the world luxuries shouldn't make us think we got them all Whitney was one kind of a person you will never hate no matter how many times people try to label her with her late days. I can say once you get to know her and her magical/anointed vocal gift there ain't no way you can keep thinking she was all that people keep labelling her She was the VOICE and no wonder still the VOICE of this generation.
Wow! This was a very telling interview. You can really sense how abused she was. The trauma she went through. I wish mental health was more important back then. She really needed therapy to process what happened to her. She was surrounded by sharks and didn't even know it.
@mwelb5251 really, yes. I recorded it on a tape from the radio as it went out. It's on the BBC website archives, and she calls him Simon in the interview.
@13:52 is the very time I’ve ever heard her mention the Clark Sisters. Wow! She and The Clark Sisters are my all time favs. This interview is amazing! Seriously this may be my favorite interview of Nippy’s of all time!
She's so lovely and open and funny and smart and self aware here. Ready to discuss anything from her lawn, to her fashion sense, her music to her faith. She's not haughty or defensive or the grand diva she would later present herself to be. She has nothing to hide and answers all questions. She's a well informed, aware, human being - fully a part of the world. Just lovely. No one will ever convince me that U Know WHO didn't drag Whitney down into HIS world where she didn't belong and never really escaped. Crack came from the Devils ASS. Whitney partied like a normal young woman of her time before she met U know WHO. So who was HER devil? Fine women have been destroyed by a controlling, insecure MAN and hard drugs. Whitney wouldn't know one without the other. B.B.
I was brought down for 3 years by my ex partner, broken bones and mental health and I’ve never been the same…. Got to be so careful who we let in our lives
I love all these positive vibes off Whitney she was in a survival mode for her life through all that went on and happened am so proud of her she had the strength to leave exhale and try to find a little peace and raise her daughter I love her dearly rest in paradise my dear.

This is a good interview. So Nippy moved in her Jersey home in Dec 1987. Herd it from her mouth not fans or the media.
Love this interview. 😊
The interviewer is actually Simon Bates from his Radio 1 show. She hosted his show for a week too after this interview
Really???!! It would be great if the BBC released that

If you read Robyn’s book you will learn her issues were pretty bad behind the scenes . It was just hidden a little better than after she met Bobby .
Couldn't of said it better myself
@@whitneysource Bobby and more fame escalated it imo
