As a millennial with absolutely no sense of direction, I can still remember printing out Mapquest directions when I first got my driver’s license and stopping periodically along the way to make sure I wasn’t lost 😂
I’m a millennial too and I remember thinking cell phones were RIDICULOUS but I finally broke down and got one so I didn’t have to bumble along with Mapquest anymore. 🙈
That's my old-fashioned thing - I prefer writing directions out on a piece of paper vs. using GPS! I hand write them (bigger/easier to read), but I definitely think it's a nod to the Mapquest days!
I love that every time you match your make-up with the current nail polish collection, neutral colors are always in trend, but those metallic colors are beautiful and somehow just right for autumn🍂🍂🍂
These collections are pretty but so far ILNP has won the best Autumn 2022 collection. Fall and winter are my fave nail polish colors so the more fall polishes the better.
Moki and Amara are the style of finish that got me into Zoya in the first place. They have the best metallics, glass fleck, foil finishes. So those two take me back (my favorite collection is the fall 2014 Ignite collection). Will definitely be getting those two!
I totally agree! Those finishes are what I gravitate toward in general, and Zoya does them so beautifully. The two you mentioned are on my wish list for my next order.
I like both of these collections. Might pick a few of them up. Something I think is kind of old fashioned is reading an actual book. I’ll read e-books too but I like holding the book. ☺️
I love Moki and Amara the best, but it might just be because we're veering into autumn. Oh! And fun fact related to your fun fact answer to my fun fact question: you inspired me to start keeping a planner because of a fun fact you shared months ago! I'm not good at drawing and stuff but I like decorating it, so I cheat and use stickers. I've been using my planner since January, and I can't believe that I'm a 48-year-old woman who plays with stickers 😂
I agree when I write stuff down like my to do list it helps me remember to do thing more then just in my phone, especially when I have a very busy week ahead of me! No remembering to bring my list with me when I go to the store is another story lol😁
Excellent Tutorial. Thank you. Please never stop writing by hand it's what uplifts being civilized Kahula is an absolutely beautiful color that goes well for all skin tones.
Love this video! I’ve never bought a Zoya before but I am thinking I should definitely consider it. Also, some ideas for “favorites” videos: Favorite one-coaters Underrated faves for other brands Favorite collections (in terms of overall cohesion and universally good formulas) Polishes that surprised you with their awesomeness (I’m thinking the Diamond Crush collection from LA Colors) Favorite gimmicky polishes (textured, scented, crackle, UV, thermal, etc)
I'm not on twitter so I'm going to shamelessly use this platform to leave you a comment about your podcast! I had so much fun listening to season 1 - I'm a big LOTR fan and had read the books and seen the movies many times, but I'm really excited to follow along for season 2, because I've seen A New Hope about a million times, and episodes 5 and 6 once, but barely remember them, and none of the others. So I'm excited to experience them with you for mostly the first time!
The metallics are gorgeous specially the browns 😍. For the cafe cremes I think this is a good collection for people who are getting started into nail polish because even me who has tons of polishes I always excluded nudes and when I need something neutral I end up not having any at all 😂. I think this could be a good option. 😊😊 (excluding that brown formula)
I loved both collections, especially the Metallic Dreams. I know some people take issue with the brushes. I don’t mind the skinny brush at all because it is always well-cut. I will note that if a customer buys the collection as a whole from Zoya when it first comes out, they almost always include the wide brush in the bundle. I was not overly excited about the Pink Palette, but really did enjoy all of the colors when the arrived. I think that they have focused a lot on creams and probably established colors due to supply chain issues. The Intriguing collection (that was Winter 2020, right?) was great and had lots of different finishes. A lot of nail polish collectors in the US loved it. I think due to supply chain issues though, they had difficulty getting some of those ingredients (for lack of a better term). I know Canada didn’t get the Intriguing collection at all due to supply issues. And some colors from that collection are already discontinued because they just don’t have those ingredients. I think they decided to go “safe” because they wanted to be able to reliably produce their polishes.
Vegas agrees with you! You are looking even more beautiful than ever lately! My family is headed to Vegas in late October for our youngest son's wedding. Really looking forward to it.
love the metallic shades too. I'm more of a bright and unique color person. especially in the winter because i have a tendency to feel my stress more in the cold and cloudy months so bright colors help brighten my day .
I just had a video idea but it's probably too late 😂 (no idea which videos were filmed in the old apartment) It would have been cool to see how you recreated your filming set up in the new apartment! If this video was filmed in the new place, then you did an amazing job getting the set up to look the same as before 👏 Did you consider changing your set up /background after the move? Or did you always plan to keep it the same? (I like it just as it is - this is just me being inquisitive 😂) P.s. I'm loving the switch to Orly bottles on the polish Tower because it's full of bright shades!.. Oh.. Wait.. You switched to Orly after the move right? 🤔 So.. Maybe I've answered part of my question already 🤦♀️🤣
definitely agree about zoya, tbh i don’t really like them! i find them kinda basic, but pretty expensive for how basic they can be. i know you like their textured polishes and while they’re beautiful, i don’t really care for them and need my nails to be almost always glossy since i’m sensitive to textures. i also feel like the round skinny brush they have is ridiculously skinny! holo taco and cirque colors have round skinny brushes but i have no problem with applying their brushes. so even if i wanted to buy multiple zoya polishes, i would also want to buy multiple z-wide brushes and that just isn’t worth the price to me. plenty of drug store brands have similar colors as them with a brush i like, like orly and sally hansen! so i’m not really fussed about them either way
I still prefer pen and paper to typing things! Probably because I never learnt how to type properly, so it takes an age. Love all these. Totally agreed on the dark brown. Plus I have one from People of Color Beauty that is one coat. Also, I think that other brown is pronounced ka-HOO-lah. Thanks for keeping me entertained. Can't wait to see your new collab. Do you like to match your hands to your toe nails?
I’m currently wearing Moki (2 coats) with Bonnie (one coat) on top on my toes. They almost look like one polish with a subtle, unexpected pop of “something”. It’s difficult to describe, but it’s worth a look!
Im really into these coffee cream colors, Ive seen other brands do a theme like this and Im looking to warm up my color palette for fall. I keep a notebook beside me at the computer!
Beautiful collections! It makes me want to purchase them, especially since i don't have "nude" polishes. Which makes me wonder, I hope you make a video about nude polishes and which brands/colors/collections are the best for nudes. As always, love your swatch and review videos.
I was in the Whole Foods this past weekend and they had the collection there. I wasn't impressed. I usually buy at least new one from them when I can. I can't believe I walked out w/o a polish. Thank you for the review.
Hi I have a question since you've used Zoya. How do you feel about its longevity? I'm looking to buy fall/winter creme polishes but brands like OPI and Essie chip on me the next day. ILNP usually lasts longer on my nails but they're not what I'm looking for :/ I love these colors and I want staples. I appreciate your advice if you have any.
I have an idea for a new video/ series. Keep one hand free for swatching. On the other hand, pick one brand, choose different finishes, and apply. Leave it on until they start chipping. I put on a new polish 1-2 times a week. Not everyone does that, a lot of people wait until it chips before taking the nail polish off. It would be great to know what polishes hold up and which ones chip pretty much immediately.
I bought Kahula a couple of weeks ago...I would have sworn I bought it on your recommendation but obviously not 😂😂 I love it though!! I've matched it with Autumn from ILNP as accent nail colors...I'm feeling very autumnal 💛🤎🧡

Oh thank you Heidi! It was actually custom built for me by an old ex boyfriend LOL! I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful :( but I've heard Amazon has some nice acrylic displays that have a similar style!
I remember when we had a separate GPS unit and when they were the hot thing to give/get as a gift... Shame about Ophelia being so patchy, I was inclined to get it from the name and almost-black color. Overall, there's nothing calling my name but it's good to see they're still doing those lovely glass fleck metallic colors.
I love the metallic browns too maybe I should get them online I’ve been kind of effy about their old collections cause it’s been weird lol 😂 I think those shades are so impressive

I love fall polishes and right now I'm wearing a polish that looks like Remington 😊 BTW I also used printed directions when I first got my licence 😅 I haven't gotten Zoya in at least 4 years cause they rarely speak to me and I didn't like the formula... think they've changed it but I'm not up for trying them any time soon
I like Zoya as a brand overall, they have gorgeous shades and individually, they look great but when they're put together in a collection they feel underwhelming :/ My first and only Zoya polishes were the Cosmic Pop Collection but each collection after that hasn't been stunning enough for me to want to purchase. I hope they'll have some more exciting collections released in the future!

I wish Zoya would move to the wide flat brush as the default brush. The skinny brush is not as easy to use and tends to dry as I’m applying the polish (the surface area is too small) which in turn makes the mani lumpy. I have similar issues with HoloTaco. I was very happy when they (HT) defaulted to the wide brush on their creme polishes but their specialty polishes are still the skinny brush. It just makes me crazy🤪

@@kpoplover1901 I have just a few Zoya polishes because I don’t feel they last as long on me, and I’m not a fan of their skinny brush. I have found that essie will last almost 7 days for me if I use essie base coats and top coats with their polishes. Otherwise, it chips within 3 days if I use another brand’s. I’ve noticed that if a brand has its own base and top, they helps to keep the polish on the best. I also use ILNP, and I think they are very comparable to essie. I use very little OPI…for some reason, I struggle with them.😬Everyone’s body chemistry is different. I’d try one Zoya polish that you really like the color of and just test it out for yourself before committing to an entire set. Hope this helps🥰
@@randomharts Thank you for letting me know, I heard that Essie has a newer formula now (I bought mine 5+ years ago) so maybe I need to go to TJ Maxx and pick some up. I'll look into getting their top/base coats as well and try a Zoya polish, thank you!
I think the pronounciation of Kahula is up to you. I appears t obe a riff on Kahlua (the coffee liqueur), pronounced kah-LOO-uh. But since this is spelled Kahula, I think how you said it "kah-HOO-la" is spot on. :)
Awesome colors loving on all of them. I must be using cheap top coat my polish a day later is already chipping can someone let me know which top coat is best to prevent chipping and so my many can at least last the week.😒
with a name like “cafe creams” i was expecting some coffee browns and beiges, kinda disappointed with them being warm neutrals instead. not bad colours! just the wrong name for the collection imo
As a millennial with absolutely no sense of direction, I can still remember printing out Mapquest directions when I first got my driver’s license and stopping periodically along the way to make sure I wasn’t lost 😂
Oh my gosh MAPQUEST you just unlocked a memory for me lollll

Zoya DEF has the best nail polish remover formula. Fast & effective, nice smell, and doesn't dry my skin out!!

I'm not tired of Zoya at all.
You explain colors so well. Seriously you see colors like an artist, do you paint things other than nails? Thank you for the amazing reviews!
I love making lists and checking them off. I also like pens and paper...so I will always use it. Plus it helps me remember things. 😉
If I ever buy a brown polish, it'll be one of those. They're gorgeous 😍🥰.

My love for stickers started in 3rd grade and never waned (I’m 48 too!) 🙋🏻♀️
I wonder if they wanted to name the polish Kahlua, like the drink, but it was trademarked so they had to misspell it
The browns in this collection remind me of the cuccio chocolate collection... Several of which I'm wearing right now in a skittle 😁

Omg I been looking for a nude blush color ❤ 💙 💜 💖 💗 💘
I'm convinced I need the metallic ones now
So glad you did this review. I really like these collections. Love your lipstick🖤
Oh Kelli, adore these metallics! Between these and the ILNPs, I'm so hooked. 🤷😉
Zoya really does have a killer metallic formula! They need to do a full collection of them!

@@randomharts Thank you for letting me know, I heard that Essie has a newer formula now (I bought mine 5+ years ago) so maybe I need to go to TJ Maxx and pick some up. I'll look into getting their top/base coats as well and try a Zoya polish, thank you!
Beautiful collection. If I hadn't just put dark green on my nails, I'd find something mauvy and burgundy.
Love Moki
Me too!!
I wonder if Zoya made a spelling mistake with Kahula. Called Café collection, I’m thinking coffee themed which sounds like Kahlúa coffee liqueur.
It's Kahlua, like the coffee liqueur
Has this been released yet? They'd make for nice nail art.
Anyone else try to guess which base coat Kelli will be using? 😉
Haha!! Did you guess correctly??
@@KelliMarissa You betcha!!! Sometimes you throw me for a loop with some randomness... but I'm usually a good guesser. ;)
with a name like “cafe creams” i was expecting some coffee browns and beiges, kinda disappointed with them being warm neutrals instead. not bad colours! just the wrong name for the collection imo
Can you compare the shimmers in this collection with the shimmers in the 2020 Cuccio Chocolates collection??
Can you explain what is the difference between a nail primer and base coat
Call me old fashioned, but I love photo albums!!! 🙈
Ooh yes me too! But I never even remember to take picshahaah!
Same 🎉🥰
Have you seen the new glam polish dupe of opi Pineapples have peelings too
No but that sounds awful LOL!!
Matilda and Constance are my favourites! I like metallic nail polishes but my ridges are more visible with them 😤
Aw man! Nail ridges are such a pain for these types of finishes! Do ridge fillers help?? I wonder if you could do one coat of creme first!
I have one but it is not very helpful, my nail polish takes time to dry with ridge filler or becomes rubbery! 😃
6:18 Woow Beautiful Glitter Nail Polish Peachy Pink With Confetti Gold I Mean Character Bonnie From Five Nights At Freddy XD
I "think" (not sure) that Opelia, Bonnie and Matilda are repeats. I have Matilda already.
Just got OPI's Claydreaming. Wonder how similar Constance is to that..does anyone have both or opinions? :D
Amara would be a good choice for Ravenclaw’s book colors, such a pretty bronze
