This is a great report. I have almost zero interest in watching top down esports style battle reports - fun with mates - not using every rule in every book 10/10

I agree, many batreps have got too techy and competitive that they are impossible to watch and very dull. I prefer lore based/story with relaxed fun and well painted armies.

I'm not even three minutes into the vid and just the sheer amount of friendly laughs is showing in abundance. Also big kudos to winters for throwing in a frankie goes to hollywood song lyric. Gonna continue watching an undoubtedly fun game. (and this is coming from someone who just watches winters game vids, I don't even have warhammer but have been fascinated by it for many a year)

I'm 12 minutes in, guard about to start turn 1.... just want to say that I love this already no matter how it turns out. I've been playing since 2 weeks after 2nd edition dropped, Guard were my first and are still my primary and favorite (despite having the entire 2nd company ultramarines amongst more armies than I care to admit to (I've played the 2nd Company as the 13th because Winters, and am now addicted to that way)). I just played in my 1st tournament 16 days ago. I had no interest in trying to be competitive so took an Armored Company (demolisher tank commander, 2 inf squads in Chimeras, 3 leman russes, 3 baslisks, 2 sentinels, original armorcast baneblade) just to shoot a bunch of tanks. It was fantastic! So is this.

"Now we are going to shoot some gun."
Im glad I'm not the only one to constantly forget the Krieg rule of shooting after death. xD

That Krieg Leman Russ suspiciously looks like a Panther ...
The use of the Overrun strat to consolidate the Haruspex into the demolisher was an illegal move. You can only make a normal move at the end of the fight phase with that strat. Kind of tied up the demolisher from shooting, which is a big unit for the guard. Only a fun game though and fun battle report to watch. Just thought I would point it out for next time.

Ruleswise heavy weapon teams are weak.

There was a brief, glorious moment of hope; then the inevitable happened. Still, the commentary was fun to listen to, the personalities are great and I always love the energy you bring!

This. This is what Warhammer should be. Had the klendathu drop song from starship troopers playing in my head almost the whole time (minus a few "boom boom boom boom" times when I went to John lee hooker)

i think that table is waaaaayyyyyy too small for a 3000 pt battle. this was like watching an elder brother smash his kid sister's "hello kitty" figures with a hammer!

You make some of the most enjoyable to watch 40k content on RUclips, your laid-back style of video with casual commentary, good camerawork, and focus on the fun/narrative rather than the competitive aspect is perfect for this format. I would love to see your take on Kill Team at some point (if ever). I feel like your narrative style would be great fit for the game.

My Krieg have been overrun and violated by Tyranids a few times this year but it's always a lot of fun dying for The Emperor :D

This is what warhammer was always meant to be just some mates having fun not caring what happens this is why i can never get behind tournament play and i have been playing guard since 3rd edition

I must admit it. The terrain looks sick - tentacles adds some disturbing darkness to the battle. It feels likes DKoK are having theirs last stand on the planet that is propably impossible to save. Such a wonderful job

Great battle report. I really wish genestealers came in bigger units and cost less though. a 10 bug squad for 16 points each is absurd.

things that was missing were Demolisher cannon Russ tanks and Death riders that could have been used to tie down some of those bugs.

There's a few terrain suppliers in this video, I think. I reference the terrain in all my videos before army selection.

God I hope the Krieg rules in the new Codex aren't literally less than worthless like they are in Imperial Armor.
If you don't explode (84% chance) you can roll a 4+ (50% chance) to shoot ONE gun ONCE on your LOWEST bracket (16% chance to hit) and then HOPEFULLY it's at least S9-10 so you might wound on 3's (66% chance) and then more than likely they're saving on 4's (50% chance)
It is literally better and easier to just not even use it for the sake of time given the ASTRONOMICAL unlikelihood that it will ever do anything.

Can someone explain to me how charge declaring works? Is it possible to not declare a unit as the target of a charge but still end up within engagement range of it?
No, if you declare a charge then you can only end your charge move in engagement range of the units you declared against. You can however pile in into engagement range of a unit you did not charge at the start of the fight phase (but you cannot allocate any attacks to models you did not charge).
