Good review. Being a longtime corksniffer and drinker of Jamieson and Tullamore I have recently tested alternatives and I would buy Teeling Small batch again. My impression for what its worth. Several sniffs later and I was impressed with the aroma. I interpreted, geranium, toffee apple, poplar, tomato and fig all being present. After a few swigs I was pleasently surprised at the very light bodied taste and the lingering intense spirit nature of the fluid. I missed the full body flavour of Tullamore or Jamiesons.
great video! just picked this up in waitrose for £23 and i’m pretty chuffed with it. agree with your points, and a wee bit of water calms the heat down nicely.
Cheers for the review Vin. Really enjoyed Teelings when trying their variations in a bar in London. Forgot there would be batch variation too so might need to revisit to see what I think of it now
I bought a bottle a few years ago, and it was excellent. I recently picked up another bottle, it wasn't as good as the first one. It was very hot and not as rich as the first bottle.😥
Just opened a bottle tonight. Bit disappointed honestly as I also found it very hot and the rum finish is harsh, like a very young rum flavour. I'll have to let the bottle sit and come back to it a few times I guess
A fantastic whiskey for the price. I’m not actually sure if Teeling Small Batch is natural colour - they like to promote their whiskies as “natural character” which could mean anything. I’d like to go to Germany one day and see if the Teelings there are labelled “mit farbstoff”. If they do have colouring added then they’ve been very misleading again - remember when their Single Grain was marketed as if it was fully aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels?
I've had my eye on this for a while. Once my Redbreast 12 and Connemara go out, I'll need to replenish my Irish whiskeys. I've had a small batch Irish by the name of Kinahan's, which I've thoroughly disliked. Hope this one is better.
I'm very hit or miss with Irish. Generally, I just don't find them as interesting as other genres. I definitely need to explore it a little more though
if you like bailey's in a chocolate irish coffee cocktail just save yourself the bartender hassle and pour triple drams of this teeling stuff instead. I don't know how people come up with orange and rum cask fruit finish before they come up with chocolate milk.

I'm absolutely agree with the author - Teelings is tasty and well-crafted whiskey.
I must say, this is one of the better reviews i have found. Am definitely a subscriber now
Thanks very much!
I'm sipping this whiskey and watching this. I bought it from duty free in Gatwick!
Always great to hear of people drinking along! What did you think of it?
I always wanted to try it. And yes, it's quite spicy. Good experience

That's a pretty great price that!
FYI currently £18 in Asda , just purchased a back up as its a great sipper.
Drinking a SB / 57 2 years later. Thanks for the vid!
Teeling is good stuff. I find some of the better Irish whiskys almost too refined. But Teeling has real charm and a fair bit of character . Cheers
I agree. The standard triple distillation tends to make whiskies that I'm not typically interested in

Yeah batch variation can amazing or a real killer. Definitely good to revisit stuff when there's opportunity
Enjoying a bottle myself at the moo. Good drop for the price, rum finish gives it interest
I kinda wish the rum influence gave over a little more but certainly does add a touch extra to it
Great review!
Many thanks from Israel 🙏
haha your face at the end with the boy racer car engine.
And that was with all the windows closed and my studio sound proofing hahaha

That's very interesting. I wonder if it's batch variation or palate change

Just grabbed one from Waitrose for £30. Put to one side until I can find room n the cabinet. Looking forward to trying it this autumn/winter.

I love that German rule. It should be an SWA requirement to declare colour on every bottle

I find it a tad better then the glenlivit rum cask one
I've been enjoying my Teelings.
Overall, they're very good indeed
My bottle from 2020 says 6 months in ex rum barrels
Balvenie 14 Caribbean cask or this one?
Balvenie for me
haha, i just asked this question on your other video:
would 18 pounds be a bargain for this?
It would definitely be a bargain

100😋%
