If I get mauled by a bear say la vie! If you do the RV you can take Missy! I have Canada in September and Romania Christmas markets on the books for this year!
I hope you can make the bear trip happen. That sounds incredibly cool! The only thing I have planned this year is a trip to New York City to sing at Carnegie Hall. We are thinking about a road trip through Ireland in a campervan the first week of March. We'll see!
Take your mom as soon as able. I took my mom to Alaska Cruise last June as well as my grown kids. We had a great time but noticed mom got lost on the ship a lot. She was diagnosed with moderate Alzheimer’s in September. What we thought was not paying attention or normal aging was wrong. She wants to go to Walt Disney World once more before she can’t. We are hopeful she will still be able to go this year as planned.
The only trip that I have planned for 2024 is a cruise on Royal Caribbean to Alaska with my roommate and our moms in August. It will be our first time sailing in Royal and to Alaska.
I love talking travel! Can't wait to follow you two everywhere! My husband and I came to Alaska for our first land based vacation there this last June and made it to Katmai for two days, and believe me, I was leery but they tell you all about how to act around the bears!! You can do it Sherri!! We were too early for the salmon at the falls but we saw bears around the grounds and on the beach. Hoping to make it back there in the next couple of years. Headed to Yellowstone next month, Alaskan cruise in June and maybe/hopefully (not booked) a trip to visit a friend in Austria in the fall. Love you both!
Your travel plans sound great. The bears sound amazing - but terrifying for sure! I'm taking inspiration from my sticker and t-shirt that remind me to Be Kind, Read Books and Travel More this year. I'm going to visit my daughter on the Big Island of Hawaii in a few weeks. She is living her best life in a work stay program on a coffee farm in my happy place of Hawaii. I have a trip to San Francisco business trip planned a few trips to my other happy place, the Keweenaw Peninsula of the U.P. of Michigan. I'd like to do an Alaska Cruise with my hubby - but not sure that will happen this year.
May 11! 14-day Princess Alaska Cruise out of Whittier and returning to Whittier! I have done MT. Redoubt bear viewing, and that was an amazing day trip.
Quilting cruise to Mexican Riviera out of SF in February and Antarctica next January, depending on the state of my cancer. Doing chemo right now and will be asking oncologist if I can take a week off. Praying! Stupid cancer cramping my style! 😊 -Joan in Calif (still praying for your mom)
Sounds like a fun year. At least once a year we try to take a multigenerational trip with grandparents and kids. Honestly they are some of my best memories. Last year we did an Alaskan Cruise on Princess and we’re trying g to figure out how to top that!!! So far this year we have a trip to Yosemite National Park and a Disney Cruise heading to the new island Lighthouse point. We will also have some Disneyland Staycations and other local fun stuff. Can’t wait!!!!
The only travel my wife and I have planned is our 1st cruise! It has been on our bucket list for years. We are finally making it happen. We will be cruising Royal Caribbean on a 4 day bahamas cruise in February. You two remind me of my wife and I. We love to travel as much as we can and as much as we can afford. Everything from day trips, weekend trips, road trips, etc. We had a nice amount of travels to a variety of places in 2023 and hope to do more of that in 2024. Hope all your 2024 travels are great! Safe travels!
It's amazing that we have very similar situations! My husband is a go go go person, always up and about, and I need to go much more slowly as I battle with a chronic illness. Turns out that's one the main reasons that we love cruising too!! If nothing else gets done from your list, I really hope you get to do the family cruise with your Mom this year!!!
I love hearing about your travel plans! Sounds like a lot of fun experiences! I did my first trip to Europe with my daughter in December, which was amazing! Also found out she is expecting our 2nd grandbaby so I'm sure Ohio will be on the travel list for us several times this year. I'm still hoping to make it to Alaska and to take our first cruise, but I'm afraid one, or both of those, might have to wait until next year. I would love to see you guys again if you make it to Boise. Blessings and safe travels!!
We are planning to hit Alaska for the first time in August 2024. Starting with a weeklong land trip in Fairbanks ending in Whittier where we will get on the Princess Sapphire southbound. Then Disney Magic Southern Caribbean in November 2024.
I am doing a Princess cruise from Buenos Aires to Montivedo Uruguay to another port in Argentina to Stanley in the Falkland Islands to Usushia Argentina to 2 ports in Chile to Santiago flying home from Santiago next month
Next week we are travelling from our home in Melbourne Australia to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands which is another Island in the South Pacific near Fiji. Maybe Vietnam around April then a big trip back to the U.S in August where we are ticking off my bucket list item of seeing Metallica which we will be attending in Seattle. Hopefully planning on being In the U.S for a month. Then maybe home to New Zealand for Xmas this year. Aside from that, probably a few interstate trips around Australia. We too looked at Katmai when we visited in 2022 but the season had finished when we were travelling there BUT if we do come over for the viewers cruise (hope this happens) then we will try and get to it then, would also like to visit Kodak.
Taking my oldest sister on Alaska cruise in June. She lost her husband last year. Her first ever cruise. My 5th Alaska cruise. Seward to Vancouver. Come with us!!!
My husband and I are doing mom trips this year. My husband is going to Italy with his mom and I’m doing an 11 day, Caribbean cruise with my mom. I’m currently trying to figure out our pre-cruise hotel. I’m also doing a girls trip at the end of the month. My book club is celebrating our 25th!! Here’s hoping for a fun year of travel and to making memories with our family and friends.
We've got Disney World with our daughter's family in February, BigFoot Festival in July and cruise in November. You never know what will come up in between!
We are booked for a 2 week Caribbean cruise starting in late February to celebrate our wedding anniversary in March, so I'm really looking forward to that. We have nothing else planned otherwise.
Hope you get to do everything you want in 24! Last year I traveled a bunch thanks to my amazing BF! At 52 I’m living my best life ever. This year so far we are headed to Florida/WDW/beach. Also going to Aruba at the end of the year and probably doing either an Alaskan cruise or Hawaiian cruise. Travel is life!!! Close or far, it’s all worth it! Happy New Year friends ❤️
We were going to go to King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, but we unfortunately had a one thing after the other kind of year and with the exchange rate its just not doable anymore so we postponed that trip to hopefully 2025 so now we are planing a trip to Costa Rica i wanna stay at margaritaville in December
My parents and i took a cruise over Christmas. We took a small decorated tree and our presents. It was a fun morning before our shore excursion. Only bad thing was we were in ports on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and Sunday, so almost everything was closed and the excursions were limited. Check your port days carefully.
You two are so funny! That was not a good persuasion to get Sherri to go see the bears LOL! We hope to get to a Florida beach (from NE) , or just a fun hotel staycation with the kids.
Hope you are having the best time on your cruise. We are going on a Caribbean cruise at the end of this month to escape the cold. Our big trip this year is a cruise from Dubai to Port Louis Mauritius Africa…a real bucket list. We are trying to knock off one big bucket list a year. We are also moving this year to be closer to our kids….and a trip in June with all our kids, their partners and our grandson.
All I know is that I’m going to Orlando Florida this summer for a conference and possibly doing either Disney world or Disney cruise. Majority of my flights this year are to and from Charolette for college. One is happening tomorrow.
So awesome that you're planning trips with your mom. I started doing that as well with my mom. We started 2021 and have done a yearly vacation. The highlight was going on a Princess cruise to Alaska!
An organization that I worked with for so many years when I was younger, helped selling items at our local annual circus. The one year they wanted to take our picture with the bear, for their poster (there were several different pictures on the poster). We were all standing behind this bear and the trainer was feeding it cheerios out of his hand until they took the picture. But everytime that he walked away, the bear would start sniffing on of the girls in our group. She was trying to be calm, but was kind of freaking out. Turns out she still had part of a pop tart in her hoodie pocket and the bear was smelling it.
Sherri just wondering what you received in the book lovers advent calendar that I sent you….im thinking about sending one to my niece and wanted to know your thoughts on whether it was worth it or not…..love your vlogs from your friend in Illinois.
Aloha! I know you’re both enjoying your cruise right now 🤗 your trip wish list sounds amazing! We have 2 Disney cruises booked this year. We have a repositioning cruise in March from Vancouver to San Diego on the Wonder and a Merrytime Cruise early December on the Dream that will stop at Nassau, Castaway Cay and the new private island.
You guys might not know this, but in Europe we are payed during our vacation days. So I don’t know what you mean about vacation costing more money and I think it is a sad way to life over there
Most but not all Americans do get paid time off, however we only usually get a couple weeks total for the year. So if they were to use weeks at a time they wouldnt get paid, hence it costs more..... Agree Europe in general has better benefits time off an maternity even!
@@melissaw1813 is it true that most Americans have two weeks paid leave but included in that leave is sick leave? We are very fortunate in Australia for free healthcare and we also get a decent amount of sick leave and annual leave. For example, I work in Public Health Care so my leave is accumulated pro-rata for instance if I worked full time I would get 6 weeks leave a year plus accumulated sick leave. Most Aussies would get at least two weeks sick leave and then you can accumulate on top of that if you don't use it. We also get long service leave (not all places) but where I work if you have worked somewhere for 10 years you get an additional 17.5 weeks leave over and above what you already have. Very lucky.
I’m with sherry. Bears are natures most adorable murder machines
I love how you respect and honor one another in your different interests and preferences in vacationing, especially cruising. 😊
Respect and honor is so important!
Katmai 😮😮😮😮
I can't wait to see those videos!!!!
Our plans for ‘24, our 4th Alaska trip, rent an RV and drive!
Disney cruise Florida northern Michigan
I will be right there with you ❤
If I get mauled by a bear say la vie! If you do the RV you can take Missy! I have Canada in September and Romania Christmas markets on the books for this year!
Our summer plans are coming home to Alaska. Bringing my wife for her first time to the interior ❤️
I completely understand wear you are🎉
I hope you can make the bear trip happen. That sounds incredibly cool! The only thing I have planned this year is a trip to New York City to sing at Carnegie Hall. We are thinking about a road trip through Ireland in a campervan the first week of March. We'll see!

Also. Check on your moms eye sight. It is common to get cataracts after chemo.
The only trip that I have planned for 2024 is a cruise on Royal Caribbean to Alaska with my roommate and our moms in August. It will be our first time sailing in Royal and to Alaska.
We are doing a Disney cruise on the Wish for my daughter and niece’s high school graduation.
❤ Going on a Royal Caribbean Harmony of the seas in February. There a Christmas trip to Disneyland.

We have two back to back cruises with DCL later in the year.
Our big trip this year is a cruise to Alaska! We've been saving for years. So excited!
You definitely should see and show more of Alaska. So much to see and do right here in the USA.
You will LOVE Katmai!! My family and I went to Katmai in 2022 with Stellar Air in Homer, Ak.

At first all I heard was Bears.... and I thought why on earth does Sherri want to go see the Chicago Bears!?
We will be taken a early 2025 on the Disney Treasure also hoping to have a 4 night Disney cruise on the Wish this fall.
We're planning a So Cal trip in the fall. Fingers crossed we can figure out a way to sail once, too, but that may have to wait until next year.
I want to do Katmai, I'm more worried abt the flight than the bears
