It's a good jack for the price extremely cheap for what it does. It's very heavy duty best jack a ever own. It's heavy very heavy but still a good jack
I got the same exact model as yours, love it. I know it's silly, but what broke my heart when I got it home was watching how quickly concrete marred up the finish on the wheels. However it's gotta roll on something 😂. Great video 👍🏻
Don't do this, lift higher and put in a jack stand under the corner or at least put your wheel under the car while working on the brakes. Too dangerous, jacks can slowly lower or suddenly drop.
I have a brand new HF Daytona aluminum racing jack that failed on its first use, it apparently blew out its seals when I was lifting the rear of my car and then spewed out hydraulic fluid and came down. Moral of the story: never trust any hydraulic floor jack as the sole means of support if you're under the car.
@@steammachinist I was thinking of getting those wheels chalks too. Putting on chains is always on a grade. My fender well is tight against tire and I can't fit my hands in there without lifting car up a bit.
nice floor jack!!! I am currently looking at floor jacks on harbor freight. but not sure what tonage to get? with my zero turn mower being close to 800 pounds 790 to be exact, as I will be using it to lift the front end of my zero turn mower to scrape the deck remove and sharpen blades. what floor jack would you recommend for my application 2, 3 or 4 ton? and also what jack stands would you recommend 2, 3 ,6, 12, or 22 ton?
Thanks, I will be using this jack for my mowers and vehicles. I don't have experience using a high lift jack for mowers, but I noticed one at Harbor Freight by Fischer. It's their heavy duty one for lifting 750 lbs. The front ends on zero turns aren't as heavy as your might think. Especially with the weight of the engine in back. I haven't tried jack stands with my mower yet, so I apologize for not being able to help you there.
@@MarkThomasBuilderPlease do, saved someone's leg by throwing in the blown tire/wheel under and a few moments later the factory Jack failed. Its what my father taught me to do if you don't have Jack stands or an emergency tire replacement on the side of the road
My buddy and I changed a trailer tire on the side of the road and my buddy just happend to roll back right when the jack gave out. He narowwly missed breaking his knee by a hair. Always use jackstands or blocks or whaterver will fit in our situation.
Most tire shops in my town have used these for years. From what I understand, they're so much a clone of Snap-On that HF was sued and lost... now paying SO a buck or two for every unit sold. I bought the model just beneath this one because, although a smidgen less in quality, it has a foot-pump option and has an inch more in lift height. the foot pump has come in super handy when in limited space for the handle. about a month after the purchase HF dropped the purple... I would've gone with the purple just cuz.
Yeah, I heard it's built to the same specs as the Snap-on. I've been very happy with mine so far. I waited for it to go on sale and went to the store to check them out. I wasn't planning on buying a purple one, but when I saw it, I was sold on the spot, lol.
I have that jack in sun burst orange. Purple was not out yet or I very well may have got the purple one. I watched a lot of videos about it before purchasing it. One thing that really bothers me is mine squeals like a stuck pig under load when I jack up my F-150. I’ve bled it. I’ve added more grease to all the fittings. I’ve done everything I can think of. Can’t figure it. Never saw one single video of anybody else’s making that horrible noise.
The purple jack is one that you have to see in person to really appreciate. Thanks weird to have that noise under pressure. I'm curious what causes that.
Mine started leaking after one year of use jacking up 3/4 ton work trucks. HF replaced it and I am ordering a Fj300 Snap On so I can have a 3 ton jack that does not leak in 8 years. Check out the one year review.
Yes, it's a bit heavy, but I roll it from my garage onto the concrete approach when doing work. I try not bringing it across the lawn or gravel. I'm always saying to myself how glad I am that I bought this floor jack, every time I use it.
My Made in China well built heavy duty floor jack I bought in the 80s just crapped out. It was $55 then, which adjusted for inflation is about the same as the $179 Daytona jack (when it's on sale). If I could find a rebuild kit for it I'd give it a try. Such a waste to toss a perfectly good jack when an o ring fails. But if I can't rebuild it, I'll consider a Daytona. If it's as good as my old jack, it'll last longer than me.
@@forddoesit Not the same jack. The one in the video is made with high grade seals and larger hydraulic pistons, yours isn't. His is heavy duty and comes with a three year warranty.
lift a car and begin working on your car without a stand ?? first it's dangerous and you gonna shortend the live of your jack applying longer pressure on the cylinder and the meanig of a jack "is to jack "and put a stand right after
How much are you willing to spend on a good floor jack? Would you spend $289 for this Daytona one?
For 289 I can buy everything at Harbor freight 😂, or just this one jack apparently

You ALWAYS put a jack stand or some 6x6 cribbing underneath and then put the load on them. You can leave the jack underneath unloaded.

Been using a cheap Walmart floor jack for years, really tired of it. Time to upgrade!
I held off from buying this for awhile, but now every time I use this new Daytona jack, I always think how thankful I am to have bought it.
Buy the jack in the video.
When it leaks within 3 years you get a new one for free.
Walmart Jack sounds dangerous. $150-$300 is cheap insurance against something going bad. Jack stands and wheel kicks are also important
