Yes I’ve been making whole wheat bread for 40+ yrs. Our Bosch is still going strong. We have a magic mill grinder and make our flour, to me it’s sweeter than store bought flour. People rave about my bread. Truth is Bosch does all the work. I wore out the magic mill lid and just ordered a new one. Thank goodness they still make parts on 40 yr old machines! I make 4 loaves at a time and enjoy giving it away to friends. Never thought of letting it rest or putting yeast mixture in Bosch, I’ve always had a separate container and added midway. Learn something new everyday

I tried making my moms wonderful bread recipe when I was 21 years old. She was living in AZ and I was in Mississippi so she couldn’t help me. I knew nothing about yeast and I made 2 wonderful Bricks 😂. I didn’t try making bread again for 40 years 😳. RUclips is a wonderful teaching aid. I made 2 wonderful loaves of bread and my journey into baking bread began. I knew it was much better for you than store bought. Then I read about how much healthier fresh milled flour was for you. I made bread with store bought flour for about a year and then I delved into FMF bread. I never liked wheat bread from the store and I was shocked at how different FMF bread tasted. I am in the process of converting all my flour use to FMF as well as corn and oats. My husband and children always loved wheat bread so they were really loving the FMF bread. I was the hold back 😬.
I make bread and freeze it and rolls and freeze the dough to take to my now adult children so they can enjoy the fruits of my labor. My grandchildren even love the FMF bread and are always asking me when I am going to bring them some more good bread. They are 9,7, 6, 6, and 1. The 9 yo doesn’t really like bread at all but the others love it. My 9 yo loves pancakes though so I freeze him pancakes. What a wonderful journey this is!!

Bake twice a week and make 2 loaves at a time. I mill all my own flour and make only all whole wheat. I add in potato flakes I get from the LDS Cannery which makes it into a very light, soft bread.. I've never used buttermilk in my recipe. I may try it soon.

I only bake bread about once a month. There's only 2 of us and truthfully we don't eat much bread. With the food shortages coming, this will most certainly change. I do use a kitchen aid mixer or I just make my bread by hand. I also use my kitchen aid for making homemade pasta. Thank you and happy cooking and baking, Debbie

I'll be interested in hearing what you think and if you have any tips to share. You make pasta! That's wonderful! Great way to "preserve" extra eggs if you have chickens.

I've had my Bosch mixer for 30 years and it's still going strong. I usually use dough cycle on my bread machine unless I want to make more than one loaf. Now that the colder weather is with us, it's time for me to get busy with bread-baking. I will be sure to let you know how it goes. I will have to make a couple of adjustments, such as using olive oil instead of butter, and not using salt (due to my having a heart attack in January, and having to go "heart healthy" with my daily diet.) After that, I would love to try your Polka Dot bread. Thanks for sharing your recipes.

Hi Sashine, I am sorry to hear about your health struggle but glad you are taking care of yourself. Hi Jinjin, both the Ankarsrum and Bosch will handle high hydration bread and pizza dough. I would personally lean toward Ankarsrum due to the roller and scraper action which is beneficial for this type of dough. It squeezes the dough rather than pulling it, so it takes longer, but the end result is excellent.
But either way you will have an excellent machine. I am going to add the link to my blog post which included a printable side-by-side comparison of all 3 mixers (includes KitchenAid). Seeing the features side-by-side might help you make up your mind.

My mother in law made bread and truly taught me so many things.....well I thought I would make bread really the kitchen was a stove and refrig in the living room no sink had to fill bowls of water to wash the stove was tiny and scary had to light with a match surprised I still have eyebrows so armed with her recipe I set out early to make it I set the two loaves to rise even after all day it hadn't so I thought it is close to supper now perhaps I should put the loaves together in one pan and bake it so I did.. it was so hard that we couldn't even cut it we decided to bury it in the back yard and some day someone will unearth this loaf of petrified bread and marvel at it ....this is a story often repeated I now make wonderful bread I too have this Bosch and love it dearly...thank you for sharing your recipe I look forward to making it.

Buttermilk gives this bread its luscious, soft texture, but you can use any kind of milk (coconut, almond, etc) if you are dairy-free. Even better would be something like coconut yogurt thinned with water to a buttermilk-like consistency. If you want to use plain water and no milk, you can do that too just know that it will be a different texture. ~Michele

That does sound funny, now that I think of it! What I meant was begin with a small proportion of whole grain flour to white flour. This makes it easier for resistant family members to adapt becauseit is gradual. Let me share the link to the recipe for a 2-loaf batch. It is written for the KitchenAid, but is a great experimental or learning experience in the Bosch. Merry Christmas!! chocolateboxcottage.tv/videos/buttermilk-bread-kitchenaid-mixer/
