    Just bought one of these; works surprisingly well for the money and miles better than my old Scooba for less than half the price

    The stickyness could be from the ketchup. On average most times that will not be a issue however but I’d wash the brushroll and do a clean without anything on the floor. I bet the stick will be gone after that.

      For sure, w/ these kinds of flloors, that are porous and hold every bit of dirt and grime that has ever passed over it. I have those floors, but in a light colour and they will not come clean no matter what. I've gotten on my knees w/ scrubbers, soaked it w/ bleach, nothing works. So I cleaned and drained the shinebot between each clean, incl. the brushroll, and gave it three runs. It did a decent job on my horrible linoleum. It did an immaculate job on my dirty hardwood w/ only 2 runs. When I spilled water, I used a paper towel and there wasn't a trace of dirt to be seen. very impressive. I have the dumb model and I'm pleased enough w/ it.

    This shinebot series must have not sold well because it is near impossible to find them brand new. Especially the W450! I have a refurbished W400 that I really like but the navigation is lacking. So I'd like a W450 but there is only a single unit on Ebay...

    Great review Adam. How do you compare this vs Narwhal in terms of cleaning. Does it clean caked in and dried spots without pre-soaking as you had done in the Narwhal review.

  • @Rite1010.
    @Rite1010. 3 года назад +1

    I will say one advantage of the swiffer bots like the original Braava is that you can use them on unsealed laminate and wood without damaging them. I learned with my scooba the hard way that bots like the one in this video can damage those types of floors. That being said....I want it

    • @Trikkie87
      @Trikkie87 3 года назад

      This bot works on unsealed laminate aswell. Just make sure to use less water and do an extra dryrun if possible.
      In fact, i will argue that when it comes to any method (including manual mopping) this robot might be much better suited as it does a really really good job at removing the water from the floor.

    • @Rite1010.
      @Rite1010. 3 года назад

      @@Trikkie87 my main problem is the area where my laminate is, is around 400 sqft. So when it gets back to do the dry run, the damage is already done. I even had some damage last night when I didn't notice I had accidentally spilled some water cleaning the aquarium filter and it soaked some of it up within 20 minutes. When I can get new floors, I'm getting pvc based vinyl in that room.

  • @jackoblaze4320
    @jackoblaze4320 3 года назад +1

    Try it in your new testing room just get some borders up to keep it on the hard floor

  • @saintejeannedarc9460
    @saintejeannedarc9460 3 года назад +1

    You had a lot of ketchup on the floor and it did and amazing job. It also did a deep cleaning of lots of long held grime you can't see, because of the porous nature and busy pattern that hides it all. Any hand washing would have taken a few rinses to get rid of all that ketchup stickiness. I hate that kind of flooring too.
    I have the basic 400s Shinebot and I love it. My floors like that, I gave it 3 runs, but those floors never come clean. Mine are a lot paler, so you can see the ground in dirt in the all those crevices, some idiot thought would be a good idea on kitchen linoleum. Who thinks of this shit? Not a woman designer, I'll tell you that for free. Anyhoo, I have to give it a pass for my kitchen, but it does an impeccible job on my hardwood. I did 2 full cleans (my floors don't get washed often) on the hardwood and they felt great. Spilled water later and used a paper towel as a white glove test type deal. Hardwood was perfect. My kitchen, I've scrubbed w;/ every type of pad, every cleaner, incl. bleach, galley mob, nothing gets that b*st*ard clean. Can't wait to get rid of it too.

  • @SvdT
    @SvdT 3 года назад +5

    Could you in the future show the model a bit? Like the underside and watertank and stuff.Does look like it's doing a good job though, except for the sticky floor, I hope it didnt just wipe the ketchup all over your floor

  • @saintejeannedarc9460
    @saintejeannedarc9460 3 года назад

    I love my dumb Shinebot. I'll wear it out and by then, maybe they'll have made it slimmer to get under things properly. That's my only complaint w/ it. I'm still working on gettting the right robot vaccum, and because it won't even fit under a couch, I'm looking for the right 2 in 1 w/ a mop to scooch under everything the Shinebot can't. I'll probably go w/ the Shark AI w/ the sonic mop, though I really want a self empty one for my dust allergy.

    The problem with this bot is that by the time I get it setup to go I could already be half done swiffering my kitchen manually. But, I think the cleaning mechanism is great. Put that together with the navigation and autodock/charge of the bravat et M6 and that might be perfection.

    • @Trikkie87
      @Trikkie87 3 года назад +2

      Is that really true though? It takes about 2 minutes to grab, setup and 4 minutes to clean so a total of 6 minutes. if I need to setup my own mop I need to 1. Get the mop and bucket 2. Prepare the bucket, then the actual mopping and then another round of mopping to clean the ledtover dirty water I didnt get in the same round. Than I also have to clean the washable mop and get rid of the dirty water. The only extra things I need to do with this robot is basically using a cone to fill the water. On the plusside however, I only have to mop the corners of the floor once a month.
      Saves me litterally 4 hours a month.

    • @jijisuka2708

      This robot can do mopping at anytime. Small apartment may easy to mop but big house is a pain to manual mop. You have to reclean the mop for nice result. This robot can do several pass and it system which collect waste and spray new water is brilliant
