Personally, Haywyre isn't my favourite artist on Monstercat. To me, he was just glitch hop artist...Until I was blown away from this! Haywyre, that is how a live mix is done! I've never heard a remix of Smooth Criminal and if I hear some other remixes,'this will still remain the best. I'm blown away Hawyre, I'm speechless!
If you haven't already, you should check out the all the other tracks from the two fold LP, as they show a lot of creativity and originality from him. He uploaded them all on his old channel named Martin Vogt, he's very talented.
Weefle Kigglegunt I have listened to The Two Fold EP when it came out and I was pretty disapointed unfortunalty. But this really redeemed himself in my opinion.

its a motorized volume slider, its being pulled down by the computer because of the drums,
its a mixing method called "sidechaining", its used to remove phasing issues with the lead (synthesizer) and the bass & snare drum.
(2 waves when added together cause interference; (phasing issues)).

I opened the SoundCloud link and then switched tabs back to the video. After a solid minute and a half I remarked "huh, this song is a little bit busier than I remember it but I still dig it."
The song was playing simultaneously on SoundCloud. I was listening to two entirely different parts of the track simultaneously. And I still loved it. What a masterpiece.
To take a song from years ago, computerize it, and do a live performance of it takes incredible skill and precision! I think this was amazing, just like all of your originals and re-interpretations. I know I am pretty late, but keep up the great work +Haywyre !

Completely understand that concern. Here's the reasoning behind calling the title Haywyre - Smooth Criminal. Firstly, like you said, its not even a remix. There are almost no elements from the original; hence i called it a re-interpretation; its more of an original track than a remix (not the best word choice but its all i got). Secondly, I dont think theres a single person out there that wouldnt realize I am using Michael Jackson's vocals from Smooth Criminal; its a given. Michael was a celebrity of ridiculous proportions, and his voice is unique and distinguishable. Also, I wanted to make sure the title stays simple. So yes, on some level I agree that it's rude to not include his name in the title; I find that people know that its a re-interpretation of Michael Jackson regardless. Additionally, like Karson said, it does say it in the description :)

This is why you're my favorite Monstercat artist - the improvisation, the chord progression, the everything. Good electronic music is more than just repeating snares, bass and a clashing synth. And you have the technique down.

Changing the volume (amplitude) doesn’t affect the phase of the sound wave, so it would not make any difference interference wise

It's a good interpretation. It's practically its own song outside of the vocal samples as I couldn't really hear any of the original song in this version. The chord progression, the bassline, any of the original patches, it's completely re-written. Well done.
