  • Coincidence Incredible Card Trick Performance and Tutorial.
    This is my favourite version of a Dai Vernon classic card trick.
    I have previously published a video titled Coincidence Extraordinary, but I personally much prefer this version of the effect.
    The magician gives a spectator the four aces and the spectator freely shuffles a pack of cards.
    The magician then splits the pack into a number of piles of cards.
    The spectator can then use their four aces to select four of the piles.
    Even though the cards were shuffled and the spectator had a free choice of piles, the magician reveals an incredible coincidence.
    After the performance of this totally impromptu trick, is an easy to learn tutorial.

    nice . gotta love the math tricks. Might wanna just mention in the beginning with small talk , when you are pulling out the aces , that aces in a deck can sometimes count as a ONE , and sometimes in other games its worth 15 . Then go on to say that kings, queens and jacks , are sometimes counted as 11 , 12 , and 13 values, but we're going to make them all worth 10 .. This way there's no confusion in the end , if the face card shows up as a counted value . 🎩.

    Hello CrashMagic, I do that trick with a little different ending. When all the aces are afected to a pile, and we have all the *discarded* cards, it's when I give this pile to the spectator to count the cards. After that, it's when I reveal the botom card of each pile. It's an alternative ending which can be used as well. Very good tutorial indeed. Thank you.

    I just did some tests in Excel, and I discovered that when you get down to that final pile, you can do the following if you're good with math:
    Count the number of remaining cards. Subtract 24 - (remaining cards). If you can find two cards in the pile that add up to that value, you can make two "good" piles from the remaining cards.
    Example: 9 cards remaining as in your demo. If you can find two cards that add up to (24 - 9 = 15), then you can make two piles. In your case, you can't, but you actually have a Q and 2 that you can use right at the top of the pile, which takes you down to 7 cards remaining. Then 24 - 7 = 17, and you actually have a 10 and a 7, so just use those for the remaining piles.

      Very smart 👍 Yes I love with this trick that near the end you can give the spectator a choice of dealing more piles, or not.

    If you have 4 stacks of 2 cards selected, the math falls into place. Those stacks all have 10 on bottom, so the total is 40. Each stack with the Ace added ends up with 3 cards. 9 on bottom = 4 cards total in pile, etc.

    gotta add another comment. ! an awesome other way to reveal, I think , is this : after the spectator places the four aces down, point out that all the unchosen piles have different numbers of cards . emphasize that had they put the aces on different piles they would've covered up a different total. Then , take all the unused cards and get a total count , saying we have 31 cards left over now , and like I said, it could have been different, but you picked THESE 4 piles --- and turn over the Ace piles. Just pause a moment cuz the spectator probably won't get it at first and then say -- AMAZING, though, that the piles you picked also add up to 31 .. and count up the total ... I personally think this will seem more miraculous than the counted piles first and then counting out a pack of cards in the end . What do you think?? 🎩

    • @crashmagic
      @crashmagic  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes while I was making this video I did think about counting the cards before looking at the piles, and it's definitely a good option. I love learning new tricks by following the steps, but then thinking about how I can make the trick better/easier/different, and it seems so do you 🙂👍

      @@crashmagic... Learned a long time ago somewhere in the books , ( it might have been Dai Vernon, ) , they said that the result of the magic is the goal , and there's many ways to achieve that. - So I always re-think and look for simplicity, and logic Sometimes for example, I see all kinds of shuffling before a trick starts , and in reality, the trick itself requires shuffling during the trick , so why call attention to it in the beginning with false cuts and shuffles ? In my OOTW for example, I simply put one indifferent suit of each kind on bottom of the deck and openly show a spread of C, H , C , S , D , C . --- So here's six apparently mixed bottom cards and yet after I remove the H and D , along with one S+ C , the entire bottom half is all black lol. Of course, during the separation into 4 piles , the spectator has no clue and mentally, thinks the cards are getting more disturbed than before... The 4 Packs then get shuffled together 3 times ( and another shuffle later on too ) So my point is- no need to shuffle for OOTW .. 🎩

    • @crashmagic
      @crashmagic  3 месяца назад +1

      @@WaldoWizard agree totally about false cuts and shuffles. Even if they are done perfectly, for anyone with card trick knowledge it is clear what is being done and so there must be a setup 👍
