Yea didn't hate the season just felt sloppy and like they didn't know what to do with the characters. Part of the problem may have been season 3, could also be that they are saving the stronger storylines for season 5.
It was clearly the weakest season of the show. It wasn’t without its good moments but it’s hard not to notice the drop-off in quality. Optimistic that season 5 returns to form.
This season gave us starlight naked. 🤔......this season was gold. Thank u 2 everyone involved and a big thanks 2 the parents of the starlight actress. Her mother and father did some quality work right there.
Let’s be honest, we all just concluded that homelander is basically Superman level. So why were the boys still conducting business freely in their building in NY up until deep showed up? And starlight was even mad that he was there like WTF and that’s the issue for me. He sees himself above everyone but somehow can’t find and destroy starlight and the boys who are making his life hard. With all the resources he has, why were they still in the same city
Honestly, I pushed through the first episode of this season and haven't gone back to finishing the show. Is it worth it? Or what episodes besides that last one should I watch?
nobody is trying to talk anyone out of watching anything. Quite the opposite. We want to be able to talk about it and watching the boys is a prerequisite for that.

Ya this season was for the most part (intentionally) poorly written for the sake of scoring political points. I'm not from the US and so I have no dog in the red vs blue fight. Basically saying "Republicans bad" seemed to be Kripke's main priority in S4, not delivering well written character arcs. Overall this season was a big miss.
I mean even with its issues I really really loved this season and calling out mass manipulation IS THE BOYS and their brand. But yeah Butcher went on a great arc...and Sage...was introducing...Vickie went on a great arc..the deep, A-Train and Ashley all had really interesting/good arcs....same with MM...they just didn't know what to do with Frenchie and Hughie overall....even Annie went on a decent arc...and whats REALLY good about this series is it hsd one consistent theme for everyone on the boys and that was to face your past amd past demons to try and get better

This season "failed" because idiots on the right sight finally - took them long enough - realized that the whole Homelander-thing is making fun of them, hence they started review bombing it. Simple as that.

I mean they made some right wingers mad that their cult leader was mimicked in a show about a similarly broken and toxic person. They parodied a fake news organization and a wannabe leader whos a narcissistic and the right wingers subconsciously assumed it was their people right away that were being mocked which SHOULD tell a self aware person the issue resides in THEM and THEIR allegiances. Its like half the country is in an abusive relationship and are getting REAL touchy when someone jokes about abuse... which again should tell them WHERE the issue lies... That being said.... Boys viewership numbers through the roof. The show used to make fun of more than just far-right politics. This season became incredibly one note. The political commentary is much less interesting than the other ideas they made fun of in previous seasons.
The little quips about low paid writers and black lives matter weren't driving tbe narrative. the conservative nonsense that they satire was the best part of the season.. BUT. having said that, the narrative for the whole season was WEAK. Those little "echo chamber" moments you're complaining about are things people should here because all they are doing is pointing a finger to the maga right. the maga right IS CRINGE, bro. About half of the episodes were good imo and the finale was very good.
