"Still pinching myself about this one - a b2b with one of the biggest legends in dance music! The mix was an exciting opportunity to play a little deeper and darker than usual which was super refreshing.
Sasha and I chatted on the phone a week prior to the show. There wasn’t a clear game plan about what we would play but as a big fan of his sound and mixes, I had a pretty solid idea of what tunes to bring with me and I just did my best to flow with the vibe in the moment. Our call was mostly a chat about a collaboration we have in the works 👀 Sasha had sent over the parts a few days before our call and I was determined to have a first draft that we could debut at the show - which ended up happening! Obviously, these drafts typically evolve and develop so try not to get too attached just yet but we had to play what we had! I also nearly missed this show completely - my flight from North Carolina was cancelled due to the storms in Miami but fortunately I managed to get the last seat on a flight to Fort Lauderdale - I made it to the show 30 mins before the set! This was a big moment for me - I hope you enjoy the journey!" - Marsh

Oh man. This should be stellar! Sasha is a legendary trance producer, and Marsh has modernized the classic trance sound. Wish I could have been there to witness this live, but also feeling very fortunate to get this in high-quality! Big thanks to Marsh for keeping the content flowing!! Your work is stunning and I LOVE getting to watch from home!!
I’ve followed Sasha since 1989. And he’s definitely never been a trance DJ.

@@leilap2495 Progressive House would be what most people probably know Sasha for. Though most popular modern prog house doesn't sound anything like Sasha's style, except for DJ's like Guy J or Marsh that remind me most of him. And he does play some stuff that contains trance elements at times, but not 'pure' trance for the most part, if that makes any sense.
Progressive House for Sasha, for sure, and leaning towards breaks more than trance. Never heard him mentioned alongside trance before, but he has played plenty of 'mainstream' sets over the years (I was at Homelands in the early 2000s, SW him at GC2000 etc, some of his sets were incredibly fast).

but what a boring fcking crowd... seriously..... damn the "tens suck".... the young people today are boring as bat sht... in the late 80's, 90's and maybe a couple of years after 2000 when all this music was pioneering you'd go to a club and be bouncing off the roof.... hands in the air........... now its just rock side to side and film on the phone.......🤮

Marsh has been the closet DJ for me to capture that ethereal sound in his tracks that makes stuff from Sasha sound so mind blowing. He sounds like what I would imagine Sasha's protege to be. I actually though Marsh - Elation was an old school Sasha track....until I found out it wasn't :D

This is such a strange comment.. because if anything, Marsh looks like the seasoned expert here. His stage presence and performance is 100% energy, Sasha is just standing there.
@@Chris-ozcjr They are both acting pretty much exactly like they do when doing a set alone, nothing wrong with either. Aside from a few post-lockdown sets (the DJ Mag one is a good example) Sasha is rarely animated, neither are most of the Prog House era DJs to be honest. I remember the days when Danny Tenaglia would do sets behind a black curtain as he wanted people to just enjoy the music!

i remember hearing global underground 013 20 years ago and fell in love with trance and progressive from sasha. marsh has been amazing on anjdeep - happy he’s keeping the spirit of the community alive

Marsh is proving himself to be a once-in-a-generation talent. Is there another progressive house artist who delivers so consistently on the production front? His mixes are impeccable, perfectly paced, and always evolving. This man will be a superstar DJ by the end of the decade.
My favourite artist from when I was a teenager going to Homelands etc back in the late 90s and early 2000s, to my favourite artist in 2024 as a 40 something year old. Amazing, what a thing, so glad this is on RUclips for those of us who couldn't be there.
