Great news! If you make a purchase from any link above, my channel earns a small affiliate commission from the site.
Whoever pays 8k a month for a 1 bedroom needs to be check into a mental institute. That is pure insanity.
A boss can afford the cost.
i would say that if i was broke too
(i have $6 in my bank account rn)
@@jonathann2093 My house payments are a tenth of that apartment's rent.
Welcome to New York 😂
It's a great neighborhood.
I'm glad you went back to tour the 1st place, the layout is perfect for a couple to share, and it's no longer creepy lol, 2nd building I would be turned off by the construction zone, it will block whatever view you have by the time it's done plus all the noise/dust, 3rd place has a weird layout but I saw a lived in tour of a similar apt which looked great and all the comments were positive, 4th place has the best appliances and view, happy Sunday!
Air mattress
Charles is so funny, I always enjoy when he shows up with the latest and greatest! I guess living in NYC must be pretty great? I can't imagine a small living area costing so much per mth. I have a whole house with a yard and a garage for $400. Mth- LOL- BLOWS MY MIND!
Where might that be, what area? TY 😮
What is your salary? Low, too?
He does make it more fun😊
Whenever Charles shows up I know its going to be an expensive one.
@@653j521 retired, SS so not much!
Love watching the two of you together.
Instead of living long enough to become the villain. The first apartment lived long enough to become the super hero. And the second to last apartment was pretty unique.
The big air-conditioner mounted at the top of the window was not installed properly or safely. Only the front control panel can be in the apartment, the rest of it must be hanging outside the window. The way it is installed now it will pump hot air back into the apartment which will cause the compressor to run constantly as the air inside will never be cool enough to allow the thermostat to cycle the a/c on and off as it is supposed to.
Yea or if there's a hole in the wall behind it, it's gonna continuously suck air out of the building and blow it outside. Completely unusable like that. Not to mention the condensation has nowhere to go. I'd imagine its also way oversized for the area.
I'll never move out of my country (NLD), but I appreciate your video's and whenever you're working together with other folks, the vibes are great!
ppl in the country side very much the reason to move to cities and free yourself
@@spinelessdevil what?
I'd never move from the Netherlands if I lived there too!
@@DrifterThrifters Honestly, same.
Bruh, someone teach Cash what a walk-in closet actually is. LOL
you're so right
And teach him the names of things like "old school windows" are casement windows and in steam heat buildings the "heater" is called a radiator and the hot metal pole is called a riser because it brings the hot water to the radiators and sinks. Also tell him it's not cute to crash around apartments and that the photos in front of the cheap restaurants look nothing like you are going to be served.
But then he won't get extra money from your posts.
It's a NY walk in closet
I hope they pay folks enough in NYC to afford these places!
I like seeing you and Charles working as a team 🙌🏻 you both are funny
Charles, be honest how many times do you have to keep Cash in check for breaking things? Slamming doors, ripping down smoke detectors, and testing sink sprayers? 😄
I agree. At first I really liked these videos, but now I’m sick of all the slamming and sink testing and worst of all the overly dramatic smoke detector vandalism.
I agree he is very rough with banging and slamming things around. It’s kind of teenager like. And any person that can afford 8,000 a month rent go buy a damn house. That apt is not worth 8 grand anymore than the rest of that tiny ass space is worth. I know it’s NY City but move some where else and save your money. 🍷🍷🍷🍷
Cash is way too rough in places that aren't his own. He must have been a wild teenager
If he were my friend I would not invite him to my house. I would meet him somewhere else!
Amen to that LOL !!!
I love when you and @CharlesMonroe do videos together!!💜💜
I've seen it all now, C&C testing the same toilet seat - lol! The last apartment was the best and the $8k was worst in terms of value for money.
First off as a native New Yorker let me say if your family doesn't own their home or your living on rent stabilized property. No one actually lives in New York City. Everyone commutes from upstate NY or New Jersey where things cost normal prices.
Happy Sunday, Cash and Charles!
The first apartment gives you the choice of (illegally - no window) sleeping downstairs or sliding into the cramped loft. There have to be better choices for $4,000/month. The second apartment has tons of space, but not $8,000 worth! The third apartment, though nicely finished, is a studio with a sleeping closet for $6,000. No, thanks. The fourth apartment (the triplex) has reasonably defined spaces and a loft for guests to sleep, though the bathroom is inconveniently placed. For $4,800 it's the best deal of this overpriced selection. I think the $4,650 unit is another studio.
BTW, virtually all air conditioners are made in China regardless of the brand.
Great spin on a currently sensitive & challenging topic (real estate - rentals). You are entertaining & realistic. Thank you Charles 😊
Love the early postwar apartments with the sunken living rooms and the casement windows.

I want so bad to hear Charles' wittiness, but not gonna happen unless I turn up the volume and let Cash blast me off the couch. Sad face because of a "soft spoken man"... isn't that a song?
Hi C.J. Charles too.
Just amazes me how much rent is in NYC for nothing. We live in a 2400sqft new townhouse with pool, good area, outdoor kitchen in Katy, Tx and pay $2900 monthly. People are leaving NYC rent should be going down appears to be a lot on the market. Cash sometimes your like a bull in a China cabinet! Lol
Wow!? These places are like mazes. Makes me grateful for my place.
This might have been said but the third place, the one bedroom is only a one bedroom if you are all tall roommates. Parents with 2 kids, however, have got themselves three bedrooms. The closet under the stairs is a decent size for a Harry Potter room. Put your 2+ year old in there and give it a Harry Potter look. Or a Lego look for the little one. You see a closet but they will see a room made for them and their size. I built one in a similar space next to my husband’s hospital room and under the stairs. A Granny Cave. I kept my herbs in the long spot by the door, but there was a 3ft opening behind that where the lowest part of the stairs were built. So the closet was actually U shaped. It was a spot that was quiet, no one could find me but I could hear husband if he needed help. I could read or nap. I put one of the kids bunks down there and battery powered fairy lights. Unfortunately, the grands came down looking for granny and husband thought it would be funny if they snuck in and scared me. Kids are not that quiet so no fright but they thought it was so cool it became the Harry Potter room and was no longer a quiet spot. The kids would hear the parents come down the stairs and turn off the fairy lights & hide. The other bedroom would be the loft area. The one actual bedroom would be the master.
“It’s February”
Charles with the quick wit
Kid and wife asleep. Got my morning coffee and watching your video… thanks Cash
I was born and raised in NY (Queens and LI) and left for good when I was 30y.o. After joining the military at 18, I realized there were so many places to live that were much better; safer;cleaner, and much more affordable, close to cities or at the very least major towns that have great restaurants, shopping, entertainment, cultural venues, etc. Some of these places are even in the city in some states. After that type of exposure there is no way in heck I would pay an exorbitant amount of rent to live in a closet, with rats and criminals for neighbors. No way!
You are hilarious in this video Cash, on fire. I live in Australia and although I’ve never been to NYC yet, it’s on my bucket list! Your videos bring the place alive for me. And watching this video made me actually laugh out loud. Don’t go anywhere and keep posting those vids please ❤
I can't believe that the thought of placing a bed in a room with no windows against a door that has paint on the other side- sounds like a good idea in NYC. wow...
I love your videos, but I guess people there are really desperate for apartments if sleeping next to the building's basement that has construction materials - is considered a good thing...
Charles Munroe needs some new videos on his channel.
Ok Charles, don’t tease me with the bath talk!
Easily the funniest episode recently
He knows we're not going to love the price.
that's how he makes a living, ripping people off in unsafe neighborhoods. Not on the ethical side of real estate brokers, you're dealing with a youtube influencer/ real estate agent here, and you pay accordingly.
I can go on Zillow and find a bigger apartment for 1/2 the price at this moment...
@@jakez1930 So why don't you go away and do that?
@@jakez1930 overkill drag bruh nyc not as unsafe as mfs claim to be
@Jake Z he doesn't rip off people. He doesn't price the apartments. I live in NYC in Manhattan, and the only place that is a little cheaper is certain neighborhoods that people don't want to move in to.
Another great video with the dynamic duo!
@Cashjorddan OK...Hold on!!! Wait for it....wait....wait....a little longer.....wait...🤪
I went to Manhatten in 1985. No plans to ever go back. Everything is 110 mph. Too much. High anxiety environment
I wish you guys could tour apartments in Seattle! I could afford a studio here, maybe a one bedroom, if I wanted all my income to go into rent! Nyc however is way beyond that 😓

Poor Charles has to put up with so much but it's all in fun these two are quite a pair. Thanks Cash.
Friedrich acs.are mandatory in some buildings because they don’t leak like cheaper units.
Cool, I like the heaters in the bathrooms, and the shower, tub + stand up shower 🥰
It’s weird seeing a shared balcony
Charles: "It's February" 😅😅😅
Hope your daughter is happy in her new school!
As a Texan I am enjoying this video
There’s an outlet!
Could this be a second bedroom?
You could put a chair out here

8K a month…
I don’t think the air would reach up here
Prep space!
Makes you appreciate what you have.
No way would I get an apartment with a shared balcony where some crazi can push his way into my room. They should fence the balconies off with permanent walls
Charles 😅😅😅😅 your taste 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Im always lookıng at apartments 😀
8:01 The bathroom with the two showers. The stand up shower looks like you can even get in and close the door lol
$8000 and filthy windows? Nope. And it's Freeeedrick.
black stairs? but standing shower.
I like the balkony and would live on.
Cracks me up that he called you out for slamming doors! You are rough on doors, appliances!
Charles “It’s February “. 😂😂😂😂😂
Idk if that's just Cash's & Charles relationship.... but we sense the shade 🐸☕️
I don't care how anyone tries to justify the rent on this broom closet, it is an absolute rip off. I would rather commute. My parents own a 16th century manor house in Cheshire, the payments on some of the basic apartments this guy shows us, would cover most of the cost of a mortgage to buy somewhere similar. Bearing in mind, there's 5 double bedrooms, 4 reception rooms, a kitchen, orangery and 4 acres of arable land.
So the landlord had a steady tenant. It is still the landlord responsibility to Bruce it up ( fix or update the appliances). That is a hotel wall sconce.
I would love for you to do a video about HUD and section 8 housing and if they exist in NYC and if they do what can the tenants expect to get. I’ve never heard you mention it and I can’t imagine that a city as big as NYC doesn’t have something available for people that are on low income or no income. I know the streets are full of those people but surely there’s something out there for them. There’s probably a long waiting list but still it’s better than nothing?
2nd apt Single pain windows, Poor insulating value will cost extra money for heat or cooling.
Thank you Gentlemen, for a great way to start my day... Laughing! 💕
The rents in NYC sheesh. In Cali $8k a month is the mortgage on a multi-million dollar home on land.
That “shared” balcony is only good for container gardening…which people will need when the shtf with the food shortages coming.
You two are hilarious 😂
Makes me appreciate my little countryside shack that I call home more
Cash, I LOL when you emphasize the legit, new, clean, large or nice medicine "cabin-ette" !! It's the little things! Love your videos 🤩
The cheapest one is the best! Here in Oregon it would be about 1500.
Well, now I know I want it.
Oh that is old style you see that in the original Odd Couples apartment the steps leading you to a living room.
The last 2 apartments are the best IMO especially because of price. We made our house a 4 bedroom by giving our son the FROG (room above the garage). He has to go down stairs for the bathroom as well while the rest of us are on one floor. He makes it work.
The intertubes advise that Friedrich is headquartered in San Antonio, manufactures in Monterey, MX, and belongs to Rheem. An earlier owner of Friedrich, Jack Golsen, bailed out the NYSE in 1970, so there is a New York connection. In the '80's they had a corporate bond that paid 17%.
Most of their product production is in Mexico.
rent is to high is what iv learned from watching cash and charles makes it sound so affordable...
I'd totally live in the first place but don't like the "loft" with 2 foot ceilings ... better to have higher ceilings in the main room, plus removing that ladder would free up valuable floor space
The washer and dryer in the bathroom? 😮
I'm very Thankful for my 3 bedroom house and yard for 540. a month. Loving my Tennessee home. ❤️
Are you in Nashville?
Love your humour and your courage. I live in a small apartment on a beach in Sydney. I would love you to do Sydney apartments. The good and the bad. ❤Sydney is the best kept secret.
You both do great job to show around. Always good vibes
This is Gonna b so Good CJ🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Sunday😀….
Hope you enjoy
Cash guarantees to almost break something in every video😂😂😂
'CASH; 'And I like how these are painted black, I think they look better.'
CHARLES; 'Certainly!'😂😂😅
The bathroom is a problem if you have bad knees and are on a water pill. It’s nice but I would turn it down too simply for the bathroom and $4000 a month for a one bedroom-ish! Not a chance ! The AC won’t make it up there. Heat rises!
I love it!
It seems like it would be awesome to live in New York but the housing drives me crazy. You have to live in a shoe box for 4k a month?!?!
There is something wrong with that a/c. It needs to vent outside, but it looks like the side vents are inside.
I just wanna live in the country and feed animals every day
That first place was ridiculous. Those are not 3 floors, it's one basement floor, one ground floor and one oversized storage space. How can you sleep with that ceiling squashing you in?
I lived in a place with 3 stairways once. You think you're getting a lot of vertical space but in the end it's just a nightmare
Depression incubators
Hey, Cash! You two are crazy goof balls make the funniest vids! Apt. # 1: where your crazy uncle can stay in the narrow upper loft space, a basement space where a door leads out to the zombies waiting, a space that's supposed to be:the kitchen, dining area & living-room all in one. Apt. # 2 Now, we just got our windows re-placed last year, double-paned, leak proof & sound proof. You gotta be kidding. For $7,995.00 a month I definitely want new windows. That galley kitchen definitely doesn't scream 'luxe'! The living-room is definitely huge. But, that bath-room is a total fail. That place won't stay quiet for long with that construction out-side. Apt. # 3 Those single pane windows again! They'll let in all the rain & the noise! At $5,995.00 there's a beautiful, big living-room with nice hard-wood floors. Love the entry way. Ooof.. the kitchen is o. k., but again, not 'luxe' for that price range. that tiny bed-room looks suspiciously like a maid's room (?) Apt. #4 Cash to Charles: 'what kind of apartment jungle gym did you bring me to?' $4,800.00 for what Charles describes loosely as being a 'triplex'. I don't think that loft space with a ladder would really qualify as being a 'bed-room' . Oh, the 3rd flr. with the tiny balcony & the 'killer' dog across the way adds a certain 'je ne sai quoi'! One bath-room for three floors? This tiny house kitchen is barely adequate. Apt. #5 At $4,650, despite it's somewhat chopped out lay-out, it may be the best of the lot. The living-room is spacious and bright, there's a usable balcony and the view is nice. Again, the kitchen is nothing special but as a galley seems to be a little more spacious. And the bed-room is also nice. The bath-room is basic but also nice. Sleep-less in Toronto
Happy Sunday Cash ❤
Charles is a legend.......
This is an apt for a vertical linguini,3.95.
Those windows at 6:18 look soo thin, which means you probably gotta pay for more heating. 😭😭😰😰
That was a fun video! You and Charles could really get along... :OD
That one with all the stairs, and the ladder could be a three bedroom. The regular bedroom, the loft, and a little Harry Potter action under the loft.
Hi all
Grape powerade zero is the best drink
Cute places for whoever wants to pay that much. Fun tour guys 👏🏽👍🏽😃. I’ve never built anything like these.
Took me a minute to get the "it's February" comment. He is quick.
One Major thing I’ve noticed they don’t have any handicap apartments
I hate when stove/ovens are put adjacent to refrigerators. That's an instant *NOPE* from me, when home-hunting.
No window, no bedroom.
Lol Cash how the hell are the cabinets in front of the kitchen basin suppose to open. Of course they're faux.
$8,000 for THAT?!
There had better be at least two more apartments attached to that one,or it doesn't make sense to pay that much!😡
Great video especially when you do a collaborative with Charles Munro. I would ever pay $8,000 a month for that apt.😊
