Google Pixelbook Pen - First Impressions

- Today I unbox the Pixelbook Pen and take it for a short test drive!
We also briefly compare it to the pen that comes with the Samsung Chromebook Plus / Pro.
I will be experimenting with this device more for a follow up video coming soon!

The pen won’t roll all over the place if you put it on the right-hand side of the pixel book there is a magnet built into the screen that holds the pin on the right-hand side. Just place the pen next to the edge on the right-hand side and it will magnetically stick
Is there a way you can teach how to use it for google classroom. Now kids are getting assignments through gmail acts and they need to write, draw, and mark answers. What’s the easiest, fastest, best way to use it there ???

The circling with the pen does not work if you do not setup Google Assistant first. Once you setup assistant then it works with the circling. The one thing I hate with the pen is there not being storage for it. Google partnered with some company that makes a $29 Pixelbook Pen Clip but it is not even available yet. At the $99 price, Google really should have included something a little more. While I love my Pixelbook and the Pixelbook Pen I just think Google missed the mark from a general customer service and valuation standpoint.

Or a magnetic strip on the pen and a magnetic strip on the Chromebook so it could at least secure in some way.
I feel that, between all the hardware Google releases recently, they couldn't do any one thing well. We've got screen issues with the Pixel XL, clicking noises on the Pixel, and then issues with the Pixelbook. Lol. It's a tough time to be a Google fan. Lol.
Is that pen compatible with the google pixel phones?

+Shroobit Hi Shroobit! My goal is to eventually use my Chromebook for everything. There is one thing left that I do on my Windows PC that I can't do on my Chromebook yet and that is editing my media library; I'm a huge media junkie. I'm hoping that there will eventually be an app that allows some really customization of media files. I'll be looking into it.
The nice thing is that the Samsung Chromebook Plus, Samsung Chromebook Pro, & Pixelbook come with pens. I haven't used them much for digital art, but this is definitely something I can look into.
The pens on the Samsung Chromebook Plus & Pro work great. The Pixelbook pen will probably get better with software updates.
I'm curious in seeing if more future Chromebooks will come with pens. I think they are certainly useful as I have used mine for several apps.
The only delay for the pens being good great for digital artist on Chrome OS, would most likely be the lack of app support. I'm sure there are apps out there, but there are very few Chromebooks coming with pens. I'm betting this will change overtime as I find the pens to be useful for tasks requiring precision (editing, gaming, note taking). Hope this helps! 🙂👍

May i ask whats your advice, i use now a Samsung tab A with S-pen. I am looking for een device with keyboard. Do you advise a Samsung Pro or the PIxelbook. I need it realy for the pen function i like write on screens.. Wich pen is the best ..

I'd have to recommend the pen that comes with the Samsung Chromebook Plus / Pro for the time being.
I really want to love the Pixelbook Pen, but it does have functionality issues at the moment, mainly those centered around responsiveness.
Ideally, these issues should be addressed with future updates, but until then, your best bet is the pen that comes with the Samsung Chromebook Plus / Pro. Although the Plus / Pro pen is thin and short compared to the Pixelbook Pen, it works really well! It also comes with extra tips and doesn't have a battery. Hope this helps!
