yep around 30 a year, 10 or so really good ones.
But it varies, sometimes only 15 or so and other times 50 is possible. Over the short 90 day storm season that's one every 2 or 3 days! Also it is not just Edmonton, The QE2 corridor down to Calgary can get feisty as well. One particular storm hit Red Deer(mid point) on Aug 8th and caused quite a bit of damage

yep we have a lot of thunderstorm in Edmonton especially in June, July and August-ish, and we just got a big thunder crack last year 2019 in august 3-ish but i also got used to them since i grew up with thunderstorms and yes we have lots of strong winds and big thunder, we also get thunderstorms like everyday in the summer like one time i was playing in the park and i saw lighting on the background so i ran like the flash home then the next day thunderstorm the the next then the next then no thunderstorms for 2 whole days then yes you know it another thunderstorms for the whole summer like only two days of no scary businesses like come on mother nature! smarten up!. but i can't wait till this coming summer hehehe
