If all fanmade Wonder levels end up as interesting and well designed as the 3 you’ve made so far, then we’ll end up with some absolutely killer fangames in the future
Nice work! I'm kind of curious how the multiple wonder effects in "Bowser's Rage Stage" and "Final Test: Wonder Gauntlet" were pulled off as you remarked previously that each stage has a designated single wonder effect. Have you considered making a video on how those stages work?
I'd definitely be curious to see what the process to make a 2 flagpole level, either the fake exit or the two exit variety that Wonder uses every now and again, looks like.
I honestly think this should have been 2 levels, the swapping-out-blocks wonder-buds are such a cool concept that would make a cool level on it's own, rather than just being used sparingly in one
Wow I thought those ice skating koopas and snow pokeys were just in the game. I played Mario Wonder and I didn't even notice they were modded good job 😂
I actually thought the snow pokies and the skate koopas were in the game didn’t know you made it yourself looks so awesome thought it was official from Nintendo
Is it possible to make one of those levels with 3 wonder seeds in where you have to play twice to get them all - once with the wonder effect and once without? Like the Bullrush level in world 1 of the base game. I think that'd make for both a cool custom level and a cool video explaining how it works if possible.
There isn't anything crazy that makes 3 wonder seed levels work behind the scenes, there's just a second goal pole which also gives you a wonder seed, but yeah I'll probably make a level with a second exit at some point.
There's a special wonder bud in the Final Uncharted Ruins, it pops in and out of different spots, maybe you could make that one bud that's supposed to turn the donut block into a trampoline disappear until the donut block reappears?
Hey what version of Fushigi are you using? I think mine is an older version as it doesn't view the terrain with textures or have some of the other tabs. My version is alpha v0.6 btw
Level Idea: Reskin the Blewbird enemies as Pokios, and use them in a place level, and have lots of other pointy objects. You could possibly have the spike ball transformation as the wonder effect.
Making Blewbirds Pokios is kinda brilliant, there's quite a few unique Wonder enemies that could have just as well been returning enemies from other games but... weren't for some reason, like Rrrumbas and 3D World's Brolders
I would have thought Pokios work better as reskinned Condarts since they both stick onto stuff. But I do agree this time they focused on new enemies as opposed to fitting old enemies.
Holy! Can't believe those enemies were replacements, I never even questioned it watching the release video. How viable do you think it would be to have those enemies setup so that the normal version was unaffected?
Considering how modular and easily editable basically every part of Super Mario Bros. Wonder's files seem to be, I think adding / duplicating actors might very well be possible in the future once every part of an actor's integration into the level's code has been reverse-engineered, but I don't think it's possible yet.
Another banger level. I really hope we get to see some cool non-traditional non-kaizo stuff come out soon, I'm sure the romhack titans are already working on it but it's great to know the community is going hard on it!
Can you check if it is possible to beat this level as small Mario? Are there any obstacles that catch the player by surprise without any time to react?
It's definitely a relatively difficult level, but I don't think anything should catch the player off-guard except maybe those koopas at 11:08 which I should probably fix lol
I’ve already commented this before, but; For the Screen-wide Konk Wonder Effect, is it possible to get Mario to stand on top of it? If so, is it possible to put the Wonder Seed on top of it so that Mario has to find a way on top of it before he’s crushed? Maybe some Raarghs and those magma blocks would make this more interesting for a Lava Level if they are breakable? Also, Skeddadlers and Seeker Bullet Bills aren’t used very much. How about an Arena Level with them?
I definitely think there's interesting ways to shake up the Konk Wonder Effect like you've described, Konks are on my mental list of enemies I might want to use in future custom levels so I'll keep that in mind. I'm not entirely sure if Seeker Bullet Bills would be great for a KO Arena since they'd come from launchers, then again I guess the piranha plants in that one KO Arena also come from pipes so there might be a way of making that work.
Thanks! I think you mixed up the name for those bullet bills that have suction cups on the bottom found in Evade the Seeker Bullet Bills with the red chain-like bullet bills found in KnuckleFest Bowser’s Blazing Beats. The Seeker Bullet Bills don’t come out of pipes in that level, they’re enemies that don’t move until the player is nearby.
For a level idea, I wonder what kind of unique interactions and puzzles one can make with the Metal Mario effect. Maybe something that challenges its short jump, or a pacifist level where you have to difficultly avoid enemies to progress. It's a really cool effect but I feel its options are limited and that is why it is only used once.
I think there's a specific kind of flower that can bounce or you could bind it to an offscreen enemies that is bouncing above or below the screeen so you can simulate is bouncing
Is there a flower that bounces in the original game? else I don't see why one specific version would be able to bounce. Binding it to another bouncy object would technically work I suppose, but I also wasn't so attached to the idea that I really thought about janky solutions like that haha.
great take on Nintendo's own level designs! i think you can fill out some of the emptier-feeling areas with a lot more coins. some spinning purple coin fragments would do a lot for the wonder section, especially where the upper half of the screen is more empty.
I think it'd be cool to expand on the concept of using wonder buds to spawn/despawn terrain and enemies. You could even have somewhat dynamic results depending on the order of wonder bud you've touched. Maybe it could even be a slightly more challenging level that uses auto-scrolling or a jet-run badge challenge in order to force players into touching them.
Level Idea “ The Smackerel March” This Level Is Similar To Leaping Smackerel But It Harder And More Complexed It Also Add In Enemy Like Cheep Cheep And Urchin. The Wonder Flower Part Is All About Singing Or Dancing Smackerels At The End The Stair Are Water Spouts Now It Will Be Great To Add!
I remember you said that, when talking about your first level that you're not going to make more because it was tedious, and you'll go on ahead once Fushigi's more complete. Seeing all these new levels means Fushigi's getting better and better!
You're very, very good at picking elements and gimmicks and then putting them in a cohesive level, it makes your levels all very interesting and creative.
Level idea:reskin goombrats as galoomba and those falling sequences theme should be beginning grassland but nightime wonder effect:wubba with uhhh moving pipes that squish you
Hey Rimea, just want to let you know that the other show case of this level was blocked by nintendo again, which I am very sad about. I am sorry your vids keep getting blocked as I think they are really cool and Nintendo needs to lay their hands off of a small content creator like you.
@@Rimea I am sorry you have to go thought this. I know how hard it is to make something and put your time and effort into it only for it to be robbed from you. I wish you good luck in fight the claims. Nintendo can be a big turd a lot😡
Super cool! I’ve been enjoying these level maker videos so far! I think a lava level using the squirrel like enemies with some hard platforming could be cool!
Perhaps make a level based off a city (the tour city courses have many building models you could probably steal) where the main gimmick could be that you have to avoid a bunch of cars (could replace the bullrush enemy!) Maybe the wonder effect could be that you have to jump from car to car over a bottomless pit? I have no idea how easy this would be or if it would even be possible but i think it would be cool. I'm struggling to think of ways you could top the level featured in this video though, amazing job :D
Loving the levels and seeing the progress! I just want to mention that the very fast time lapse of drawing the level might be approaching flashing images territory. I have had a couple of times where I've had to look away during these parts. Maybe show fewer parts with a slower time lapse? Idk Looking forward to your next level :)
