I finally watched clone wars after I finished mandalorian was over because I just wanted more of the franchise and while I was mostly "meh" on it in the beginning, by season 3 or so I was really invested as the stories started getting darker and the animation continued improving. I really appreciate how they took a lot of stupid ideas and characters from the prequels and made them far more interesting. I always thought the war between clones and droids made for a war with no weight since they were all so expendable, but the cartoon really fleshes out who these clones are. Seeing how they think, feel, and act is often the best part of the show in my opinion and it's truly heart breaking by the end when they're turned for their true sinister purpose. They take several characters from the prequels and give them depth and character far beyond what they were intended for. It also goes deep into the mythos at times and actually shows the jedi from perspectives other than just being "the good guys." I'm really glad I went through it and I think if you guys stick with it you'll find a lot of value that the current disney movies have been really lacking. I really hated the last movie, but I found a lot of comfort in this animated series. This last season of clone wars is what I want to see more of in star wars. The animation was beautiful with so many breathtaking scenes and the story was exciting and mature while still being something I'd say is family friendly. The whole thing is definitely not necessary to watch. There's some turds in there for sure, but there's lists out there for those who just want the juicy bits....
Clone Wars starts out very mediocre until around Season 3. It wasn’t until that point that Lucas started really throwing his wallet at it and the show took a much more serious tone with higher animation quality and it turned into a legitimately good-to-great series. Though if you don’t really feel the motivation to watch all the content before it, I’d at least recommend the last 4 episodes as it is honestly some of the best of Star Wars content in the past decade at least.
@@ProgSnob14 I mean I'm with you if you're talking about the old stuff, but god damn the last few were incredible in terms of visuals. You've lost me if that's what you're referring to.
The last 4 episodes on Clone Wars are amazing. Honestly one of the best finales I've seen. The show has increased so much in quality over time. I recommend at least the last 4 since it's already in a universe mostly everyone knows so it's not really a spoiler and its essentially self contained
Clone wars is overall better than its collective missteps. It's not a perfect show and the initial art style was wack to me as well. It gets better tho and improves prequel material. I still prefer the OG clone wars, but with out a doubt they flesh the characters out way more.
On their Clone Wars points: 1. The Animation The animation of the show in the first season looks like a high school student's late-night 3D animation project compared to what they're pumping out on Disney+. The art style improves season after season and skyrockets when Disney gets involved. I think it's a unique art style that works great for the show. I honestly love it way more than Rebels. 2. Lacking Episodes Even in the later seasons, hell this last season even, there are very weak episodes. However, for the most part, Clone Wars is an anthology series, meaning you can skip around story arcs without missing a beat. If you're looking for suggestions, you can't go run with any of the Mandalore stories, Obi-Wan Undercover, Protocol 66, and Darth Maul's rise (believe me, you forget about those robot legs soon after you see the damage he and his apprentice do). If you skip the Jar Jar and most of the Padme episodes, you'll be fine. Trust me, I forced myself to watch them and they add nothing. 3. Movie Don't watch the movie. Overall, if you watch the right episodes (look around for some recommendations), this is a high quality show. The last arc is some of Star War's most phenomenal work and was a great insight into the affects of Order 66 on a relationship between a Jedi and her friend. Clone Wars has some amazing stories following the clones on the ground and the Jedi/Sith conflicts. Just watch around some of the more mediocre episodes and you'll have a blast.
@@omrgo_ It's mostly looking at the sypnosis, deciding whether you're interested, and going from there. Afterwards, if you want to watch more, you can continue with the story arc. You're totally free to skip around.
It's hard to recommend watching the entire show of TCW, but it's also hard to recommend watching the final four episodes cold (those are the ones that tie to the third movie directly, and are great). Maybe look for season-summaries online, then when you get up to Season 7, you could just watch the last four episodes as a small movie? Those episodes are just way better when you know the charas and where they're from, too. It wraps up strongly as a character drama for the protagonists. Wayyyyyyyyyyy better than any of the movies have been in 15 years.
@@RJCXDOfficial Not a terrible way to do it, really. I like some Star Wars stuff, but a lot of that show is still just full episodes of "Look Star Wars Cartoon" between genuinely awesome plots for charas. Peaks and valleys, even if the valleys aren't terrible - just non-essential if you're looking for the best stuff.
Best Documentary- Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father. Hands down, nothing has ever, EVER evoked such intense and deep feelings as this film. GO IN COLD. DO NOT SPOIL IT. It's one of those things that you just have to experience as it is laid out in the film. You will likely cry.
There's a great condensed watch list for Clone Wars on Reddit that I personally used, and it worked really well. Even if you don't want to commit to that, at the very least, watch the 4 episode Battle of Umbara Arc. Very adult subject matter, very suspenseful, and needs little knowledge of the series. In my opinion, some of the best Star Wars stuff out there. If that doesn't hook you to the rest of the series, I don't know what will.
Once you get into it, I think you'd really enjoy the Mortis Arc and the Yoda Arc. Deal a lot with philosophy and themes of what the Force actually is, that I think Rocco would dig. The link to the watch list: /r/StarWars/comments/4nrpri/so_you_want_to_watch_the_clone_wars_but_you_dont/
Alright here’s my episodes recommendation list season 1: episode 5 Rookies, episode 10 Lair of Grievous, episodes 11-12 (episode 12 isn’t as good as 11 but this introduces you to Hondo and he’s great), episodes 19-21 (the battle of Ryloth stuff is decent) , episode 22 Hostage Crisis, season 2: episodes 1-3, episodes 6-8, episode 11 Lightsaber Lost (this is probably the best episode to introduce you to Ahsoka), episodes 12-14 (this is the first REALLY good arc you get from the show and is important for when you get to the Maul stuff), episodes 18-19 (this one is a Star Wars Godzilla it’s great), episodes 20-22 (Boba Fett? Boba Fett!?) season 3: episodes 1-2 (gives you a fantastic origin story and follow up of the clones from season 1 episode 5), episodes 5-6 (develops Mandalore some more) episodes 8-9 (gives you a character arc from the frickin one alien with the long snout who sings at the beginning of RotJ and I just kind of love that because of how dumb that idea is), episodes 12-14 (also very important for Maul), episodes 15-17 (might be a little weird at first with concept but I really love the lore this adds to the force itself), episodes 18-20, episodes 21-22 (is got a wookie friend), season 4: episodes 5-6 (just a fun little C3P0 and R2-D2 adventure), episodes 7-10 (this is potentially my favorite arc in the show it’s absolutely wonderful), episodes 11-13 (this one is actually an adaptation of a comic released its p good), episode 14 A Friend in Need (a fine little take on both sides of the conflict, introduces a character for later on), episodes 15-18 (Obi-Wan fakes his death and goes undercover as a bounty hunter and it’s just so good), episodes 19-22 (this is finally the Maul’s return and sets up his big plan in the next season), season 5: episode 1 Revival (the beginning of Darth Maul’s rampage), episodes 2-5 (remember Saw Guerrera from Rogue One, well he’s actually from this arc of TCW originally), episodes 10-13 (I honestly don’t really like this arc until the end which the ending is really good and introduces someone who goes on to be in Rebels if you wanna continue to that show), episodes 14-16 (this is where the Maul stuff peaks in some of the most emotional and intense parts of the show, episodes 17-20 (This is the best arc for Ahsoka’s character it’s really awesome), season 6: episodes 1-4 (this also is potentially my favorite arc in the show and it makes me sad every time), episodes 10-13 (Yoda goes on a trippy force adventure it’s fun), season 7 episodes 1-4 (really fun arc with a new type of clones), episodes 9-12 (the end of it all wrapping up Maul and Ahsoka’s arcs for the show and ending as tragically as you’d assume), the animation isn’t that great early on but improves drastically each season so don’t let that get to you, also some stuff from this show continues on and ends in Rebels which while nowhere as good as the Clone Wars and also has a pretty rocky start has its moments which it is honestly at its best when it’s just continuing stuff from TCW, anyways I know this is a really long comment but I hope you guys read this and give it a chance it genuinely upsets me when people brush it off like there’s nothing of merit in there because it’s honestly some of the best Star Wars ever made and takes the franchise to places that I think people need to realize Star Wars can go, ok bye now I love you
Also I really don’t recommend just jumping to the finale because so much is set up for it and you need to be attached to these characters to get a lot out of it it is fantastic tho
I felt the exact same way about The Clone Wars film but the show has some of the best Star Wars stories I’ve seen. It really fleshes out prequel characters (including freaking Jar Jar Binks) and has some really dope lore stuff like the story behind the Mandalorians, General Grevious (a horror story that involves clone troopers being hunted down in his temple), a friggin’ kaiju arc, Dathomir, the Night Sisters, Boba Fett’s crime crew, clone troopers uncovering war conspiracies etc.

Clone wars is made kinda out of order and in arcs so you can just watch any arcs that sound good to you The umbara arc is something anybody should watch
I would recommend the documentary Chasing Ghosts. It stars most of the people from King of Kong, and doesn't get into the one sided bad guy vs good guy editing. That is kind of what made King of Kong fun though.

About Clone Wars / Rebels: Yes they are geared for kids, but it also gets more mature as it progresses. Season 3 is when it really got good for me. But If you enjoyed The Mandalorian, Clone Wars and Rebels gives the show even more context and makes it even better.
Derrick sure has been mentioning a lot about wanting to get more famous or deserving more fame. And I can see why he would say that, Mega64 has done some great stuff in online media. However, I think its great where its at right now. The guys 100% control and decide what to do with their creation but if you i guess in a way "sell out" to Hollywood or something like that to achieve more fame, you'd lose less control of Mega64. Honestly, Its all about happiness and continuing on making great stuff with friends. I just think Derrick might want to hear that, nothing bad at all where Mega64 currently is at.

Akira Kurosawa's films Ikiru, Rashomon, Kagemusha, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, & Seven Samurai are dope
Even if there isn’t a single lizard left on the earth
Love u during these times drinking country time.
Ceviche is from Peru
Darth Maul survived Obi Wan cutting him in half purely on hate. That’s so damn metal dude.
Hearing Rocco speak spanish made me giddy. Thanks Peru
Hey i'm peruvian and i can say the number 92 is well deserved.
Gotta say that review was pretty spot on lol
Derrick sure has been mentioning a lot about wanting to get more famous or deserving more fame. And I can see why he would say that, Mega64 has done some great stuff in online media. However, I think its great where its at right now. The guys 100% control and decide what to do with their creation but if you i guess in a way "sell out" to Hollywood or something like that to achieve more fame, you'd lose less control of Mega64. Honestly, Its all about happiness and continuing on making great stuff with friends. I just think Derrick might want to hear that, nothing bad at all where Mega64 currently is at.
Your one star review needs to be a 64 hour special
"and she has.. blonde hair" -garrett

“he took 4 cocktails before the bizarre events around the world” according to my portuguese/spanish speaking gf. She couldn’t make out the first two words. Also Garret said very good in spanish
57:18 oh so that's how rocco has stayed cool
My algorithm would love this
you guys really missed an opportunity to release a piece of PLUR with the words digital drugs on it for the 64 hour special. WTF is Shawn doing now anyways? He should be hand-making bead bracelets for the raving MEGA64 crossover audience.
Good Spanish Rocco.
wait does derrick have a split tongue
I'm spanish and I found hilarious the part where Rocco was talking in peruvian/spanish.
I love my computer
Does Derrick listen to Tell' Em Steve-Dave? His opinion is very similar to Walter's about KISS
In defense of Puddle of Mudd, Wes can hit those notes there was an old clip of the same cover where he nailed the song. But maybe he doesnt like being compared to Kurt and botched it as a goof. Still a hilarious video.
for someone who can't understand spanish Rocco speaks it very well
i assure u. clone wars is amazing
Eric Andre copied your greenscreen in public idea with his "Bird Up" skits.
westworld season 3 felt like hbo split the season in two parts like we got one half of the season. maybe hbo is splitting season 3 so it has content in case the lockdown sets back filming longer than expected idk.
In these times.

Fun fact: The anniversary of Star Wars is May 25th. May 4th is just a bad pun.
41:26 which DVD is that?
Guys eggs is a literal translation, but my Mexican dad calls me huevon all the time. A better but not literal translation would be lazy. So a good translation for that podcast would be lazy talk
