I just realized that you were one of musicians who wrote some of the best soundtracks from my childhood. Given the logo and kickass-ness of the music, it sounds like you're still as just as passionate as the fans. That is freaking rad, dude! Thank you!
Hell yeah, man. I literally just got through writing a comment about this exact thing. Morgan and Faulconer symbolize a huge part of my childhood. I'll never forget, no matter how many more incarnations of the Z universe come out.
This sounds so heavenly this should be the battle theme between Goku Black vs. Future Trunks plus the guitar solo just melts my soul away. How can a song describe sorrow , defeat and bitterness and at the same time hope , resolve and passion? This is just too good.
Mr. Morgan I wanna thank you and Mr. Dobos, Mr. Smith and all the others from Team Faulconer for writing that amazing score. It really is the best score for that series in my opinion.
I hear you. Morgan and Faulconer music changed my life by being part of Dragon Ball Z. The show alone did wonders for me, but add in a kickin' soundtrack, the likes of which Zen-Oh has never seen? That would make Morgan... Ahem... -Vegeta voice- ... Legendary. :P
Wow you two put the standards way too high xD! Freakin awesome, what can I say? Fantastic work to both of you! I am glad that you are staying close to the community and do collabs and stuff. Stay awesome !
Haha thank you! The AX-Edge is Roland though! It was a loaner while I was working for them. Sadly I don't have it anymore. I do still have my Alesis QSR though :)
An Advocate For Manga Sure, but finished action has pockets that are miles deep. Are you trying to suggest they don't have the money to hire a handful of composers to make awesome new themes for the English dub? I can only think of one or two really cool themes from the current dub of super. It's just generic orchestral background music with no memorable flare to it really at all. When you were a kid growing up with DBZ. Half the experience was the music. Like, literally half. That's because of how awesome some of the American themes were like Gohan angers, the super saiyens 3 theme, Vegetas super saiyen theme, the theme of shenron and the dragonballs. And plenty more.
@@TheSpaceking12 Sorry Death Savage, but I agree with Space King. I like the japanese soundtrack, but it is no contest in comparison to Morgan and Faulconer's magic. As Space King said, half, if not more than half, of the experience of DBZ, was because the music was masterfully renditioned. I'm sorry, but if I had to listen to Vegeta turn Super Vegeta to Cha La Head Cha La, I might be held unaccountable for my actions... D:
please play northwest Indiana sometime! Or at least Chicago I don't mind driving 30 miles into the city. I know a handful of people who'd buy tickets right now!
Wow well done Scott this was great! I still love that synthesizer man. Always nice to see your name pop up in my sub box, keep doing your thing man you got a huge following of people who love your work in DBZ and this style of music. Certainly a much larger amount than what your subscriber count says. Hope you find more success in the music industry because you definitely have a talent. Wishing you the best.
@@Morganstudios Now, when are you guys going to dip into Super? It's not the same, man. I love the japanese soundtrack and all, but sorry, no contest. :P
Man this would sound so awesome on the English dub of Dragon ball super!! I wish they would bring you in to redo the music. Dragon ball super’s music sucks :(
Totally seeing this as a Heroic Theme or an Arc Intro! Awesome collaboration! Also - This could be a great Dragon Ball Z video game fighting tune - That new Dragon Ball FighterZ game :D 3:49!!!
Man, Scott. You are my latest and greatest find on RUclips. I knew you since many years back then, but recently revisited your channel and watched + listened to a lot of your content. I have to say I am absolutely in love with your progress and story, you're a great guy. Ever hopeful, idealistic, incurable romantic, aspiring for the stars ! Your optimism and drive are inspiring, the way you stayed humble trough all this. You have my utmost respect, admiration and fascination for what you represent as an eclectic whole. Cheers, mate !
Tbh I have even put it in my actual album that you are easily one of my biggest inspirations in making music! In fact when I first started writing it was not long after discovering you so I just really appreciate everything you have done, same with Halusa twin and Enigma TNG. In my latest animations I've been using your music even more than the faulconer productions as a reference on what stuff to make to go with my dbz animation so hope you keep up the good work and I'll continue to listen and be inspired! :)
That's awesome man. I've really enjoyed watching you progress as an artist and musician. I think you've come a long way! I'm sure you'll go much further with drive like that.
Funimation. Release the Faulconer productions cut of DBZ please. Oh my god. Or wtf, jus cut off Faulconer if they had beef with him lmao. Just bring back my guys!!!!!!!!
awesome thank you. do you think a more "imperfect z jam" type of drums you did earlier back would be epic in a DB spinoff? considering our era and viewers? plus the way you were mixing it up with the different kits was amazing.
Thanks! I think it really depends on the scene and what it needs. Man I hadn't watched that in ages! I really should revisit some of those sounds =D I think it's harder to fit crazy jams and such into a show tbh. You need to build up to the craziness for full effect. For instance I almost never went full guitar shred mode in the actual show. It just wasn't appropriate. On RUclips it's preferred! Anyway, you never know. The drums in this were also kinda nuts and it made it into a pretty epic moment on the show: ruclips.net/video/lw_Cwz8OJXw/видео.html (also my work)
Morganstudios I could talk to you until the end of time about your music and what you all accomplished in DBZ music. honestly I've been inspired by your music and channel to script and storyboard my own Manga. Then to animate it into a show. it will be a long time coming but my vision is to share the material with you and create a Z music hybrid. I'd love for you to go all out on the guitar and drums and open up the heavens for long battle scenes. thank you for responding, and may your future work continue to leave a legacy.
Hey man, love the new song, I loved the seven string, and that harmony toward the end was astounding. How is it that you record your guitars by the way? I am in the process of producing my own music now and I have a couple of ways to record. On the one hand I have a Shure SM57 that I could put against the amp's speaker BUT on the other hand my amps have USB connectivity that I could plug right into my computer. What way works best for you and, if so, what other thoughts do you have about it?
Thanks! Lol, Yep it's one of my two 7 strings, and yet on this track I didn't even touch the low A (down tuned). I just liked the tone of the ESP guitar for this track. I had to frickin lower the action to be able to pull of the shredding. Normally I keep it higher for rhythm guitar work on the ESP. You are right about the recording methods. Both work. I think you should do what works for whatever track you are recording. For this piece I went direct and the FX and distortion are from NI Guitar Rig, with some stereo delay added in Cubase. It has a really nice warm sound that way. Sometimes I also use a SM57 on my my newish Peavey Vyper amp. The main guitar solo on Circle of Heroes was miked (and I used a single coil pickup, so rare for me!). The rhythm guitars in Perfection Kills were also miked. I think the first time I used the NI Guitar rig setup was for Gokan's theme? So nice and warm. I used to use a Line 6 Vetta II, direct. I finally chunked the amp after it went bad.
Nice, I recently picked up the new Boss Katana 100w combo amp and its quickly become my new main amp, as opposed to my Peavey Vyper VIP-1. The Katana has a much warmer sound than anything on the Vyper, and with the right guitar loaded with the right pickups, it really sings beautifully. For the song I'm producing now, I need something to have more of a high end cut so that it sounds more pronounced in the mix.
I just wish the VIP-1 had the Valve King as a model, that thing is a beast. Though I do like the 6505 and the XXX models. The 6505 is aggressive and in your face, and the XXX gives that industrial "Dimebag" vibe. But compared to the Katana, I prefer its warmth, the on-board Boss pedals, and holy sweet mother the power staging knob. It feels like I'd knock the house down at 50w, not to mention what 100w might do. For the Vyper I have to turn the volume knob between 0 and 1 so that I don't piss off the neighbors. But back to the point both, amps have their strengths and places within a mix
I actually recommend using software for your sounds these days. Native Instruments KOMPLETE, East West's Composer Collection or subscription, Ilio's Omnisphere, or my own company's subscription (Roland Cloud, like my shirt!) You can get a standard MIDI keyboard controller to play all this stuff. The controller(keyboard) doesn't have to make sounds on it's own, which brings the price down. MAudio makes some decent ones that you can just plug into your computer. Of course if you just want to practice and not have to plug in, a cheap portable keyabord (like Casio or Yamaha) could be a decent starter. Or if you want something nicer, research digital pianos. Actually hmm, I wrote an article about this: morganstudios.com/Tutorials/MIDI.htm. I also have tutorials on music on this channel ruclips.net/user/view_play_list?p=0D018243BD976D94
This was Beautiful! You know Scott, you are one of the few people I have become inspired by to soon begin my new journey in learning the electric GUITAR this year! In Dragon Ball Z and in your videos, really powerful work in your guitar play. Awesome job Halusatwin! Loved your music over the last 7 years of listening to them. This could legitimately be an opening or something for supers dub but funimation is on crack Morgan your work is awesome bro keep rocking
Funimation is on no drugs. Its an outdated tactic to dub in new music for anime to "americanize" it. Its just excess expenses nowadays.
