The RX 6600 has an advantage in the RDNA2 architecture and higher GPU clockspeed, which mostly level out that the RX 5600 XT has more raw muscle, with more cores(SUs) and higher bus bandwidth. Both are about the same level in real gaming performance. Anyone going from 5600 XT to a 6600 is a sidestep, not an upgrade. No less that 6700 XT will make sense, going from a 5600 XT. Value Wise, the 5600 XT can be bought second hand for GTX 1070 money.. or even less! And the 5600 XT is at GTX 1080 performance level. Newer GPU, lower power and price, thats a Win Win). Just 2 GB VRAM need to be sacrificed if going with 5600 XT. But at 1080P res, it is still plenty for nice visual settings.

you convinced me, time to get the RX 6600, decent price, really good performance even with the 8 lanes limit, but I am going to get the Ryzen 5 5600X just to make sure I get a better framerate, currently using a R5 2600 with a B350 motherboard, and a RX 5600 XT borrowed from a friend, but I need to have my own.
After 8 years, I finally upgrade my Gigabyte R9 380 G1 Gaming to PowerColor RX 5600 XT Red Devil Edition for only $120. Well that's a good deal considering this one of flagship model 5600XT. Different is like night and day able to use max setting AAA Games over 70fps but I'm happy with 60fps cap to reduce heat and energy.
@@OasisFinder Nothing much to say. Just performance was far better, overall less heat in room compare R9 380, more features in Radeon Setting, and my electric bills become lower too. Not found any bugs, could be because the card already mature compare to it's first release

Hello Benjamin! It's actually on purpose, I removed 2 Ram sticks closer to the CPU since I needed to install the CPU cooler, I needed Space. I was too lazy to remove all of them. I tested with 4x8 GB total 32 GB running all four on Dual Channel as you can see @3:28 Mark.
The RX 5600XT is not bandwidth constrained like the RX 6600 since it has a full x16 PCIe lane connection unlike the 8x of the 6600. PCIe 3.0 e 4.0 will be identical with the RX 5600XT.
It's good to mention as well that the 5600xt uses about 30% more power, so in the long rune you probably get the money back with goin the rx6600. Also with AMD Fluidmotion (and many other features) now only coming to the 6000 and 7000 series, I wouls suggest getting the RDNA2 card

The Extra $20 is totally worth it for the RX 5700. with 2 more GB of VRAM and also better power, you can push it more than the RX 5600XT. There are also some mods where you can flash the RX 5700XT bios to get some extra performance, but be careful. Take a look at tutorials and make sure you know what you're doing. But even at stock, the 5700 is a really good card. Cheers!
From Denmark, if I'm wrong, as far as I know it's not enough to just have a motherboard with pci.4.0 to get full performance on your graphics card. I also think your CPU must be PCI 4.0 in order for you to utilize PCIe 4.0. It looks like many people think they just have to change the motherboard to PCIe 4.0 So if you have a motherboard with PCIe 4.0 and maybe a Ryzen 4500, 5500, 4300, 4600, 5700 and maybe others, then you don't get any PCIe 4.0, only 3.0, since the CPUs I wrote about only support pcie 3.0. You must have a CPU that supports PCIe 4.0
@@YtOnly-Ind07 it was working relatively well, obviously I can't play cpu demanding games like GTA V, but gpu demanding games were moving good enough, if you can upgrade as son as possible, I upgraded to a r5 2600 and it's WAY better now

Newer generation has leap in power efficiency if Nvidia and AMD named and priced their GPUs correctly. The 4060 is actually using a 50 class GPU die (AD107) , although it's being pushed more making it less efficient to make them justify calling it a 4060. Maybe if it was used as a 50 class card for example, instead of being called 4060, it was rightfully called a 4050 and not pushed as hard, we might have a sub 75W card that performs close to a RX 6600.

Tip: dont benchmark valorant in the custom modes where you arent playing eith ppl. Dont test it on deathmatch either. The fps isnt representative of the true performance in game as even i get 400-550 fps on a 3600 and gtx 970 build with 3200mhz ram but in Team DM and competitive games it drops a ton down to 180fps and never reaches 400fps

I own both cards. The RX 6600 is better for 2k gaming where the RX 5600XT runs out of memory.

If you buy a used RX 5600 XT, make sure that the VBIOS is updated, because it's a massive performance boost!

For the 6600, the best motherboard is B550 since it has pcie 4.0 which this GPU benefits from.
Was the RESIZABLE BAR activated? Because if it is disabled, the RX6600 loses performance and PCI-E 3.0.

If you have a PCIe 4.0 capable motheboard, I think spending a bit more with the RX 6600 is worth it, for the extra VRAM and lower power consumption.

Make sure your GPU is plugged in the highest PCIe x 16 slot. the one nearest to the CPU socket.

5600xt is better because of pcie 4.0 x 16 lanes which gives extra 10% more fps in my testing, i got both
how is this same? 5600XT draws 30-50% more power so
The RX 6600 is a newer architecture, hence being more efficient on a similar performance in PCIE-3.0
