I can't praise this virtual walking tour too highly. My wife and I are old now and unable to revisit the country and its cities we love - especially Rome. To go around many of the areas we had ourselves walked was marvellous, it really was. Thank you so much. (5/5 stars)

Agreed. The worst videos are the ones where the young girls have their face glued to the camera trying to explain everything to you and saying "I hope you can see this amazing place, blah, blah, blah...." and then the annoying dumb music. I like to hear what the place sounds like and I don't even mind music in the background and even well-informed narration. So tired of the "look at me" I'm in Rome, Venice, Honk Kong, Singapore, Amsterdam videos that are in all essence, useless, unimaginative, uninformative, and mostly irritating. Thank God for people who post videos like this. BTW, nobody wants to see somebody's plane trip from and to a destination (even in timelapse). We get the point! LMAO.

I live in northern Italy and I love Rome a lot.
The tour is beautiful, even the audio part, very impressive when passing from the street noise to the silence of the interior of the churches.
You were lucky not to find too much traffic and garbage in the streets, I saw only a vagabond asking for alms, no papers on the ground, or holes on the asphalt. Last time i was in Rome a few years ago, i saw a homeless woman who was washing herself completely naked at a fountain near Piazza della Repubblica ...
Unfortunately you have lost a lot of interesting things that you have passed by, for those who wish to know more, for example:
33:37 on the right, the Chigi Palace, seat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers
35:59 behind the obelisk the Palazzo di Montecitorio, the seat of the Chamber of Deputies, one of the two parts of the Italian Parliament
1:24:25 if you put yourself near one of the fountains (which are in the fires of the ellipse) you could see all the columns lined up
2:08:00 on the left you can see the memorial plaque of one of the most tragic events of contemporary Italian history: here was found the corpse of Aldo Moro, the kidnapped prime minister, imprisoned and killed by the Red Brigades in 1978, symbolic event of the darker period of terrorism in Italy
2:59:56 on the right, under the staircase, you can see the rare remains of a Roman popular house ("Insula") of the second century.
3:03:45 on the left, Palazzo Venezia, with the balcony from which Mussolini were used to speak to the crowd
4:37:40 detail to the left of the beautiful square with the wonderful fountain of the Naiads (no water for maintenance)
4:53:59 the beautiful intersection of the Four Fountains, which can be seen at the four corners
5:31:29 in front of Bulgari, you can see on the right the historic Caffè Greco, founded in 1760, a café-museum with over 300 works on display, a meeting point for all the past artists in Rome
5:47:35 The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, one of the most important and ancient in Italy
In the video is missing a very beautiful piece of Rome: the Gianicolo hill and Trastevere and the wonderful Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, with its breathtaking ceiling !!!

Our first night in Rome it was raining lightly and we were a little jet-lagged but we went out for a walk anyway to get some air. It was well after dark and the rain had mostly stopped when we walked through the Porto del Popolo and into the piazza. The lights in the piazza reflects in each of the rain-wet cobblestones and it was like walking across a field of stars. I'll remember that for the rest of my days.

That's great. Would you be interested in longer tripod takes at a single location? Say, 5-10 minutes of just the hustle and bustle at the Trevi fountain? If it is something you leave on for background ambient noise, do you have any requests or suggestions?

    • @Antares191YT

@@ProWalks Hi there! Yes that'd be great! There are a few places that you visited in which I'd love to see a tripod take, like the Mercato Centrale in Florence, and the fish Market in Venice (or any other market in fact). Also it'd be great if you do a bus/train stations, especially the smaller outdoor platforms in Cinque Terre region overlooking the sea.
Thank you again for the amazing tours!

OMG! This is the most magnificent video on Rome bar none! It is so spectacular that it almost brought tears to my eyes! Namely because I have been there many times and your video reminded me of all the wonderful times I spent there. Also, your video is so awesome because you DO NOT have the usual stupid music, and therefore you allow us, the viewers, to hear the sounds of Roma, and thus, truly feel like we're there! That was the best part of this gorgeous video, which you edited beautifully. I saw once and will view it again. Are you going to do one on Florence and Venice, and maybe Siena? Thank you so much for bringing me such joy by viewing your gorgeous video. You should be very pride of yourself! Thank you!

Hi, that's great to hear! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I need to go back and film some places I missed. I will definitely be going to Florence and Venice. I haven't been to Siena yet though so that might have to wait. I went to Florence once already to film but it was so crowded and several sections of town were blocked off for a bicycle race, so I just got back on the train and went home. :) I might try to go up at Christmas time and walk around when the lights are up. Thank you for supporting my channel!

You are very welcome! You deserve much and high praise for the magnificent work you do. I so love the fact that you have NO MUSIC, which is so ridiculous in so many travel videos I've seen, and that we can hear the places you are filming. I especially love all the work you put into all the HISTORICAL INFORMATION which is awesome and is accurate since I myself did research before arriving at the places you filmed. You're on point! Fantastic job you're doing! So, so relaxing to see your wonderful videos, especially since I've been there to some of them. Hope you do one soon of Florence, Venice, and I strongly suggest one on Siena since it's a gorgeous place to do a walking tour. As well as Verona. You will love walking at these three towns. Thanks again for your work.
