It’s SO INCREDIBLY admirable that eryn chose college instead of depending on her aunt to help her do things. She will still have the privilege that comes along with being connected with Laura but the fact that she is choosing to go to college I feel like earns her the respect of people who don’t have the privilege of having a well connected influencer family member.
Very true.
She is her brothers daughter or sisters daughter??
@@serendipity.06 sisters daughter
Laura wanted her to be a nepo baby no words
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
community college is deff the way to go!! I started at a state uni and HATED it but I'm in love with the community college and it's SO much cheaper!
I second this 🙌
Yes, I was at a community but I transferred to a university and I am hating it. If I could go back to a community, I would in a heartbeat!
i agree this is definitely the way to go
Me too!! I went to a uni thinking it was going to be above and beyond… I transferred back to CC for many reasons. For me it was more affordable and flexible.
Love my community college so much!
Hi Eryn, I’ve been in marketing for 10 years and having a degree is really important, even if it’s not related. We don’t hire anyone at our agency without a degree.
Yes. A degree outweighs your time on RUclips, Instagram, etc.
Does it matter if your degree is Marketing or PR/advertising or are either of those going to get you the same opportunities?
Why is it like this. You said it yourself, you’re hiring people who don’t even have a degree in marketing, why is it so important?
@@Leslie.G I also work for a company that will give an interview for a full time position if the candidate does not have a degree. It’s more common in the last couple of years, I guess it’s a new culture practice? Not sure. Degree doesn’t necessarily need to match the position either.
@@Leslie.G because going through college requires a new level of independence with elevated expectations in order to graduate.
Get that degree girlie! No one can take your degree away from you! Plus you’ll meet so many people with similar interests and gain autonomy doing something just for you :)
Yes! It’s not the only route but it did feel so rewarding to know that no one could take that away from me.
Remember college is not for everyone .
@@deannabennett2635 definitely agree! There are so many other opportunities. Especially where she is located.
I have a marketing degree and I work in marketing. Honestly all the info we learned is so outdated bc marketing changes so fast. Also I had to laugh when Eryn said she wanted to do PR but she doesn’t know who will help her get into that without a degree 😂 Miss mAAM the PR people are beating down your aunt’s door 😂😂😂
LITERALLY!!! Let me help
You Eryn!!!
@@laura88lee you're amazing Laura and naturally a caretaker with the motherly instincts. She is in good hands with you and Tyler for sure. However, I THINK, I'm not there yet with my kids , possibly let her gain some confidence in maneuvering her way a bit and then truly, if she needs the help she does always have you guys to fall back on 😊. All said and done you guys are the best. She will do amazing things.
@@roxannar3820 she has talked about this on her vlog. That they're letting her figure out her own way and then help if she really needs.
Ask an advisor in the department at the college.
My oldest son didn’t want to be known as “the superintendents son” (construction) he wanted to be known as a good carpenter on his own. Sometimes they want to know they can do the work without extra help, but also it’s ok to get some assistance without it being full on nepotism. It’s a balancing act.
College is not a waste of time. As a person who has gone to college and taught college, it is not a waste. Community college is where I started, transferred, did a degree in English, and went to grad school. Education benefits more than it hurts.
Any college is definitely NOT a waste. So even if Eryn quits after a semester she still will have learned things and had a good experience. I am proud of her for being so open and honest on this channel. Good luck Eryn!
No hate to this comment, Eryn is lucky that she has an aunt that knows people and can probably get her ahead, this isn’t the case for everyone, I did a 4 year marketing degree and still had to work from the bottom up, just didn’t want people to come to this video and think that it’s easy to go the no college route.
Love Laura, so don’t hate on me.
You're very right. My kids are in Jr high. But after high school their options would be slim. We live in Bakersfield so they'd be working fast food or labor if they didn't go to college.
I completely agree with you.
I agree 100% it’s not just that easy, and I sure and the heck don’t want my kids jobless living off me.
Yes I agree.
@@lns4life so true I’m from lancaster ca originally and I always had dreams of being a cosmetic chemist. Now living in nj, got my chemistry degree and work in a great fragrance company doing something I love. I never would have had an opportunity like this if I didn’t get out sadly.
Laura I’m so happy to hear you tell Eryn she needs to decide what she wants to do! It has been so nice watching you and Tyler become such an important part of Eryn’s life. Eryn will be wonderful in whatever she decides to do💗
I am so pro education. Eryn get your degree girl. You will find what you’re good at through your pursuit. I don’t regret a single day of college.
Waste of time! And time is precious. She has other opportunities she should take advantage of
I think her situation is very different since her aunt is famous she has a lot of opportunity other people wouldn’t have
Seriously, I can’t believe they’re actually discouraging her from going to college
@@MM-ln1dp don’t be ridiculous. It can be a stepping stone to many different careers
full on agree! I wasted time and wish I got my degree earlier!
I lost my mom last month from Alzheimer’s and I still can’t talk about her without crying. I remember a few months back you were the same way and seeing you now being able to get through talking about her without crying gives me hope. Ily ❤️
I think that you can never, EVER go wrong with an education, even if you don't end up in the field your degree/cert/diploma is in.
My college years were the best years of my life. I met my best friends there and it was absolutely the right decision for me. However, I know college is not for everyone. Do what’s best for you, Eryn! I’m very pro secondary education and do think Eryn would benefit from it, regardless of connections Laura could get her.
I’m graduating from a top ten university this spring. It definitely is a learning curve but you grow so much meeting new people and experiencing different lifestyles! Good luck Eryn 🫶🏼
I'm graduating in two years but I also agree with you!! I'm studying to be an accountant
It’s crazy how as soon as we graduate high school (even before), we’re expected to know what we want to do and be. I now have my masters and am just realizing that I don’t even want to do what I majored in for the rest of my life. Take as much time as you need to figure out what you want to do and be to ensure you won’t regret it
YESSSS
Same !
Sometimes you won't know if you want it until you get into it 😬
Absolutely!
Girl yes!!! Coming from another country straight into high school, parents didn't know the school system and I had no idea what I wanted to be.. I am 33 years old now and own a cleaning company but I don't see myself doing this for the rest of my life.. always learning and always moving but I still don't know what I want to do😅
A college degree shows that a young adult can be dependable, can follow through on their life goals and has matured. I’ve worked in HR for 20 years, we don’t always care what your degree is in, but a 4 year and now even a Masters degree is absolutely needed. But starting out in CC is a great idea.
Taking a gap year should be encouraged though.
It's not absolutely needed. Yes, there are certain fields you have to get a degree but now a days there are so many things you can do without a degree
See and I highly disagree with this statement simply because I follow through and I’m highly knowledgeable and successful in my work and do not have a degree but that isn’t because I couldn’t follow through or hack it it was because I had extremely debilitating medical conditions at that time and had to leave school but I started working while I was treating those issues and learned everything I possibly could. I’ve worked my butt off to get where I am and continue to do the same. The culture needs to change because college is NOT an option for everyone. Seriously Eryn wasn’t joking when she says how much a dorm and other costs are that loans even won’t cover. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm pro college. It's not just learning through books. The best 4 years of my life. Growing, maturing, gaining independence and being 8 hours away from home were all amazing things. I had to rely on myself. Stick with college you have your whole life to work.
Also, even basic jobs require a degree of some sort.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love that y’all are so open about this decision & it’s not a college or nothing kind of thing. That’s how we are talking to our kiddo that’s currently a freshman in HS.
I started at community college and am now getting my masters degree. This is coming from someone who wanted nothing to do with college after high school. I think it takes time and life experience to figure out what your purpose is here on earth. Definitely don’t give up right away just because you can’t figure it out. It may take time to figure it out and that’s OK. Society makes us feel like we need to know exactly what we want when we start college and that’s such a false expectation. You are brilliant eryn! You will accomplish great things.
My mom always encouraged me to get at least a bachelor degree like “no matter what faculty, no matter what you study, just get a degree”. Some people might say it’s a waste of time, but for me it was the best 4 years I had since it opened my eyes and mind to a next level and met so many people. Also, it was through college that I met my husband too 😊 even though I didn’t know back at that time what I wanted to be or work for, I just took what I could get and move on forward.
Y’all are both great! Eryn will find her own path in life and we are here for it ❤
The eyelash extensions were put on wrong. My first lash tech did them wrong and my natural fell out as well, once I went somewhere else my natural lashes are healthy!
I love that Eryn has you and Tyler to help her through these things. I'm glad ya'll let her figure it out and have to pay for her own hotel. She is going to eventually get her shit together and will thank you guys for the support! ❤
COLLEGE COLLEGE COLLEGE!! You can’t rely on your aunt who got lucky. Please never deter child, especially one who’s interested!!!!! Go girl, get that degree!!!
I not a person to post online on videos but I cringed when she said you don’t need college. Like what? What worked for you might not work for her. Possibly she wants to pave the way for her self. Don’t try to take the experience away from her.
Eryn doing her eyebrows during the all video 😂
Glad she chose college! Good for her! Can’t wait to see her new place decoration! 💕
I love your tough love on Erin!! She’s a smart girl and she’ll start figuring it out. Love you guys so much!❤
It warms my heart to hear you and Eryn keeping your moms spirit and presence alive 💗 you can tell how amazing she was with you guys
I really love Erin and Laura sharing this. Thanks so much for sharing this tough time in a young persons growth. University isn’t for everyone !
Your mom is so proud of you girls Laura💓
Omg I love when I get to see Eryn and you together she has seriously bloomed and Laura you really have been a great example #auntiegoals
Big proud Eryn! Community college is where I started and now I'm in PA school! It's way cheaper and I loved the smaller class sizes!
As a person who didn't go to college straight away. It's okay to figure yourself out before you commit. It's best to get to get to know yourself enough that you feel confident in whatever decision you make. I'm still sort of lost lol but I feel more put together now than I was when I was thinking of going to college.
Eryn, trust yourself in you desire to continue your education. I don't regret my four years of college at all! I went to a smaller, private university, so meeting people was much easier. I grew so much intellectually and gained tremendous confidence in myself. I learned how to write and present myself as an educated person..... and that was many years ago, but I am still proud of my college degree!!! I wanted to teach, so I did need an education to do this, but I also understand when people say they don't need a college education, but please follow your "gut" on this one!!!
I also went to a school where I didn't know anyone, and I made myself stay on campus for the first four weeks. That was the best decision ever!!
rooting for you Eryn! I graduate in December and if I can do it, you can!! picking your major is the hardest part
Man hearing Laura talking about her mom had me In tears. Jesus. Lord. Sending all the love.
Currently, a senior in high school going to community college to start my engineering path. I’ve always said uni or college is not for everyone. Everyone has different paths in life and it is totally okay!
I think it’s great how supportive u are. Bc ur right college isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. 💕
Love hearing y’all being able to talk about your mom with such smiles 💞 I know y’all love and miss her so much!!
This is just my two cents from having gone to college straight out of high school and then onto graduate school. If someone is unsure of what they want to do I'd suggest either going the community college route (and getting the basic classes in while figuring things out) or taking a 'gap year' to work and see what opportunities might be available without a degree.
I’m actually pretty surprised about Laura’s point of view, like ‘you don’t need college, I can pull some strings and you’ll work regardless.’ Education is never a waste of time!
Love your videos together! Such beautiful ladies.. keep up the positivity.. you really brighten up our days 😘 xx
I love the moments you shared about your mom. I don’t see Erin’s IKEA video on her channel.
I went through my mom being incarcerated and bounced back when I was Eryns age and I’m glad they both stayed strong ❤😊
I’m pro college for Erin, I feel like it is safe and at least she’ll always have it and have completed something for herself
I’m so pro college. There’s many jobs that you can’t move up in without a degree especially in the business field. Home will always be there and you’ll never regret having a fresh start. Also your degree is something that no one could ever take away from you, it feels amazing to have! You’ll need more of a semester to know if you like it girl, at least a year!
i love lauea’s duos! , tyler, erin - you truly surround yourself around gems Laura. i adore your content ❤
The community college in SB is AMAZING!! I say you get that degree but also keep recs to get an internship, with your degree and Laura’s connections you’ll go so far Eryn! I’ve loved watching you glow up ❤
I missed her soo much on your channel😭 she's grown up to be so beautiful just btwww over the years💕🙏🏻
ALSO, SHES IN COLLEGE NOW AAAAA
Darlin said “more harder.” Education is a wonderful thing.
Thought the exact thing 😂😭welp
LMAOO
The Shein Blush you used Laura, I love it!!
I loved how you spoke about your mom, she definitely was the "it" girl!!❤️❤️
Laura it’s so nice to see you talk about your mom with happy memories. It’s been a little over a year since my mom passed and I still cry everytime I talk about her
Laura has said a few times she can talk about her mother being alive and not cry. It’s whenever she speaks about her death that cries every time and can’t get through it.
Laura I love you ❤️ it’s so beautiful to see you with Erin you and your hubby are a great inspiration ❤
love watching your videos , you have such an amazing soul , love you ! you too are incredible !
I cannot stress how important it is for kids to have a post-secondary education. It's a time for them to learn in their classes but the personal growth they go through during this time is irreplaceable. Interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, time management, etc.
As someone who struggles in school and tried college it wasn’t right for me, it’s not for everyone. People don’t need degrees to be successful, everyone is different and college isn’t for everyone all of the personal growth and skills you learn in college but you can learn these same things elsewhere. It takes some people a lot of time to figure out what is meant for them
I agree college is not for all right out of high school .. let them take a break and figure out what they wanna do!!
I definitely agree !
Not Laura being halfway done with her make up and eryn is still brushing her brows 😂😂😂
When you were talking about Laura’s mom I started to tear up!! That was so sweet and I love that y’all continue to let her memory live on and you praise the love she poured out to her family and I can feel the love! My grandma died last year and she was my bestfriend and this made me so happy
i started at community college and transferred and i graduate in december but honestly i sometimes still question going to college🤣🤣❤️ whatever you do you’ll find your path Eryn!!!
Learning a trade is key. Community college is the way to start if you want to do college.
Not Laura using her “annoyed mama voice” haha like I TOLDDDDD YAAAAA 🤣🤣🤣
I loved hearing y’all talk about your mom ❤️
I went 8 years ago and my degree got me many places since. I am currently back in school for my masters and am so glad I went back then. It’s got me to where I need to be today in order to do what I want to do!
Not college being "more harder ". That sentence is one reason lmao. Or do certificates. 😂
Eryn talking about math took me right back to school 😂 same, girl. Same.
Hahahahah same
Yasss sister preach it!!!! Be 100% in everything & do it the best!!! ❤
Love seeing you guys talk about you mom/grandma…. Always remember her saying “the tea is hottt honey” and you say it on the pod so much and I love itttt
Watching you paint your face Laura. Was so therapeutic. I do the same I just get lost in my makeup. LoL. Beautiful.
@@yesmaamjewelry yes!
I see the growth in being able to talk about your mom. 💜
Laura we need sweater details!!❤
Sorry Laura you’re wrong…she needs to get her degree. You can’t make your way and feel accomplished riding the coattails of her influencer aunt. I actually cringed when you were talking about pulling strings and getting her on somewhere. I agree with Eryn on this one!
My daughter is currently in college and I also went to college. I agree that there are many options out there besides getting a degree, but and however the lessons learned in an environment that college provides are harder to come by outside of it. The fact is she is aware that she has a loving supportive family to fall back on, but in college she will learn how to evaluate and think critically while getting real life consequences for not following through. College teaches you how to learn and hone skills you may be unaware that you have until you are forced to use them. That becomes the foundation of how you live your life and hopefully figure out what you want to contribute to society. Good luck.
Community college is definitely the way to go if you don’t know what you want… Eryn is soooo pretty and grown ❤
Erin don’t worry about doing undereye concealer rn, I swear last year I finally said okay I don’t need to try undereye concealer bc I don’t need it! Turned 35 this spring and instantly my under-eyes are so dark! Now I have to do it 😢. Enjoy your collagen while you can 🎉❤😂
So sweet hearing y’all talk about your momma 🥺❤️
I thought they were mother and daughter .Damn
Definitely don't need college, but I do think going through it teaches you so so much about yourself and perseverance and about yourself. Having a degree is awesome on a resume and can get you places faster than not having one. Any college community or not is great, it's about the education. Good luck to you Eryn (:
College changed my life!! No matter what type of degree, it’ll help you get your foot in the door!! The dorm experience gave me some of my best friends and gave me such a sense of independence
I went to college right after high school and only made it a year, after that I went and lives life. Now that I’m married with kids, it took me this long to figure out what I wanted to do after growing and getting a different perspective on life.
I became a different person in college, for the better. I loved it and don’t regret a single moment!
Eryn don’t listen to your aunt. She may think she knows what’s best for you but you should follow your heart, learn from mistakes, and do what feels right for YOU! ❤ You have such potential!!
I agree college isn’t for everyone unless you know exactly what you want to do!
My college journey is very similar to Eryn’s. I went away and came home after 2 days because I hated being away from home. I ended up enrolling in community college and transferred to a commutable university 2 years later. I got my degree in Public Relations!! A degree is a degree and your path doesn’t define your success. Happy to provide more
advice if she needs.
I cried when you talked about your mum God bless her she sounded like the most beautiful soul ❤some people are just too good for this world 👼🏼
loved community college!!! got my associates in psychology and really used that time to find what i had an interest and possibly a passion in. i’m now in a four year, university of california, going for a bachelors. nothing is set in stone erin you are so young to figure it out 🤍! also so far debt free🤎 blessed
Esthetician here! This is a recommendation for everyone in the comments. If you’re getting lash extensions and you don’t want a refill or if you’re wanting to change the length of your set, please please go to your tech and have them safely removed so your natural lashes are not damaged!!!! ❤
even a general business degree gets you in a lot of places! then you can decide later what you want to master in but have the ability to be in any type of business! that would be my recommendation if you don’t know what you want to do with school atm❤
loved this video girl!!👏🏽💗
Love yalls dynamic 💗💗 good luck on your journey Eryn. I wish I wouldve done SOOOOO many things different… make these decisions, you can only learn from them.🫂🫂💗 good luck Girly. (My mama side coming out). Lol. Awww Eryn poor thing you falling. I’m so dramatic I would’ve laid there as if a bone was poking out! 😅😅😅😅
I only went to college for a semester and then took a year off to work full time! After working, I decided to go back to college again! At the end of it all, I wouldn’t change my choices because they have helped me become who I am today! Everyone’s journey is different and just enjoy the ride while it lasts.
From a person about to graduate with my Masters. I want to say a few things that will hopefully encourage a few people. My first thing I love to tell people is that it is okay to not know what you want to do, or what you want to major in. I figured it out as I went and honestly I am still figuring things out as I go. I have grown so much since I started school and my perception of the world has changed so much sice I have been in college and especially since I have been in grad school. Even after I picked my major the direction I wanted to go in has changed. Another thing I want to say is if you want to do school then do school, if you don't then don't. School is not for everyone and that is alright. There are some people that will not be successful at school and that is alright. These people will be successful in other ways. I did my first two years of college at a local community college. While I outgrew it fast, I do not regret my time there. I was able to take my time and figure out a major because I was undecided for most of my first year of college. I transferred to a bigger school 3 hours away from my hometown and flurished. I am still at that university now and am happy with my decisions. I actually work for the university as I finish off my degree and I love it. We are each our own people and that is alright. I hope Eryn figures out a general direction she wants to go in and I hope she also has a wonderful semester.
I see both sides to the degree and no degree. I got my degree but now work in a field that I don’t need one in BUT, I’m extremely happy I got mine because no one can take that away from me! I’m also the first woman in my family to get a degree! Do what feels right to you Eryn! 💕
As much as I struggled in university, I learned so many invaluable skills that I would never have gotten anywhere else. My mom always says you just need the paper, doesn’t matter what it is.
A college degree shows responsibility, and determination. She needs that degree for herself !!
I love that you are making sure that she knows there are more options than just the college route! That is so important. Yes- there are so many things you learn through the college experience, but there's also a bunch of other things to learn and experience outside of college, so it's just finding what is the best fit for you. I didn't go to college right out of high school because I couldn't afford it and I have learned so much through life! I am now taking classes at a community college, which is really nice, but I also can't wait to be done with school because it's just not for me. News flash! College is not for everybody!
I started at Uni for a year and then went to a community college for two years. I went on to a four year after to finish. HIGHLY recommend starting at a community college!
Eryn you have plenty of time to go back to school my 60 yr old stepdad just graduated from college with his masters with a 3.9 grade average. Find out what your passions are first then if you want to grow in that particular field you can go back to College!! Good luck babe!!🥰🥰🥰
I predict she will be home after the first semester as she's already speaking it into fruition..Advice from an old lady who has lived a while and done a thing or two: ..give it a real chance..at least one school year ..2 full semesters. You are so young and really need to learn to navigate this big wide world on your own . You're so lucky to have the support that you have . Take full advantage of the opportunities provided.
She’s speaking it into fruition bc Laura is encouraging her not to go. It seems like she wants too though
I loved all the videos your Mom was in! Her and my mom would be BFF’s! They have that magnetic personalities!!!
Love you both! Such auntie and niece goals
I really loved this 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Hearing it from Eryn is 🤌🏻 and I love you both together - so fun!
College is a great opportunity! Stick it through and get that degree, education is so important to have. I am 30 and going back to school because I have no skills on paper.
I went to community college before I went to 4 year and it was the best idea that I’ve ever made.
