I've also found that counting, once a pitcher begins his windup, helps extremely to time up fastballs. You want to do it in a melodic manner, like you're counting a musical bar. 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and or 1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4. What you will find is that the moment you need to swing will fall on a specific part of your counting cadence. 1 and a 2 and a 3 and a SWING. I highly recommend going into practice and hitting against different pitchers at different difficulty levels to practice this technique. Have the pitcher only throwing 4SFB right down the middle. Sometimes you'll need to speed up or slow down your cadence so that your SWING doesn't fall between 'notes.' Once you have it down, start your count when the pitcher begins their wind-up and then look away from the TV, trusting that you will hit the ball because you know your count is on time. Now, when you recognize fastball, you'll be on it because you already have the timing in your head. If it's not a fastball, maintain your count, but just know that a slight pause needs to be added before SWING.
My teammates and I say this all the time. Don’t have a single player on our DD teams batting over .275. Ranked seasons is the biggest joke of a game mode ever
@@patrickburke1103 yup. By far easier to hit in real life. In this game fucking curveballs that go up and then down, thats not how they look in real life. Degrom 121 pitchea into the game consistently throwing 102mph. Juan Asshole Soto hitting home runs on balls that bounce in the dirt. Fucking fernando tatis pulling balls that are 10 inches away and off the plate for home runs, yes, pulling a ball 10 inches off the plate for 425ft home runs. Every moron pitcher cheesing and throwing 3 balls before a strike. Ball tracking is broken. 90mph fastballs coming in like 125moh and then sometimes like 50mph…. Games fucking bad!
Great video, I suck at hitting, as a former player I wish there was a way you could see how the laces are spinning, be cool if you could see the dot on a slider
Great video. New to the game on Xbox Series X and have a ton to learn. One tip you mentioned really rings true for myself. I find I do better if I actually take my eye off the zone between offerings. In fact, just looking at anything but the TV produces more success for some odd reason?
Great advice. Also, the looking elsewhere works bc now your eyes are simply seeing where the ball is or going. Whereas looking at it dead on your eyes and brain tend to wonder where it's going to go and wants to look in every direction
i practice on hall of fame and play in all star difficulty and have been on a massive slump i still cant seem to get good eye on the plate and my pci is fine but my timing and when im in game is shit
I just seem to not be able to move my PCI and my A button at the right time. My PCI placement is horrible. I am a quadriplegic meaning I have a spinal cord injury. My hands are affected so I usually rest my palms on the joysticks so I guess that's a reason for poor PCI placement. I can still hit somewhat and I've even mastered pin point pitching using my palms. It sure is frustrating but I like your videos. I am having a hard time stealing bases too. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong there... Lol Keep up the great work! Nick
I think Pure Analog is the best then I struggle so I go to Zone. I do well, then struggle so I go back to Pure Analog. I do well, then I struggle. It’s a vicious cycle. I just don’t like using the buttons. I feel using the analog to swing is the only true way to hit. It feels lame using the buttons. Plus, when I do hit HRs I seem to hit bombs compared to using the buttons. I have realized it’s about confidence and wanting to hit! When I focus so much on the ball coming out of the pitcher’s hand and timing my mind gets too occupied with that and I barely hit.
I keep my pci directly in the middle and struggle with my timing of the pitch. Inside pitches and pitches down in the zone with movement are the worst. I’ve changed batting stances so many times to see if that was the problem and it isn’t. I use batting stances of Ken Griffey Jr., Chipper Jones, All Star 63 or 83.
If you're in a 2 strike count, you can keep the PCI in the center with contact and balanced hitters. Use the contact swing, be patient, and lay off anything outside the zone, and swing at anything that comes in or close to the zone.
How do you change both starting pitchers in a exhibition against the cpu? Every time I change mine, the CPU’s pitchers changes and when I change the CPU’s pitcher, my pitcher changes

It's easier to hit in real life than in this game.

This game is frustrating. I make solid contact and if I get it past the infield, it's either a fly ball or a home run
Just wanted to tell you this worked great. Lot of improvement man you helped me significantly. Hitting a lot more homers now

Probably bc in real life there's no visible strike zone. You just know. But when you start focusing on it for video games you over think it
Hopfully this works I strike out like 20 times a game it not even fun at this point
Great advice. Also, the looking elsewhere works bc now your eyes are simply seeing where the ball is or going. Whereas looking at it dead on your eyes and brain tend to wonder where it's going to go and wants to look in every direction
What pitch do you struggle with the most and to where? 🤔
Curveball change up
Outside slurve
12-6 curve and changeup because it feels like the change sinks a little bit
Sinker inside Righty Righty. Just dirty
Edward Cabrera is
100 mile an hour sinker

I’m also horrible at PCI and button timing I found it easier to hit with no PCI at all or a 40 percent transparency

Really appreciate the tips. I really have gotten a lil better hitting since watching this video
Bro this shit got me yelling so damn loud I can't hit the fucking ball worth a shit
I did try the MLB 15 view and it helped a little
Great tips… I love playing on simulation games even with a shitty realistic win loss record lol! But these tips definitely help!

Dang man your really good
Everybody I play does nothing but throw low sliders
Dude i need some actual drills to stop jerking my pci to the edges every single pitch. Help me coach
let your pci remain in the center and use half your thumb on the stick to allow controlled precise movements and stop giving it more than you have to
What camera are you using?
Zoom
Sliders
As soon as I get good at hitting the fucking difficulty increase that shit is on legend and I'm getting my ass kicked
Thank you for not having that little window with your face in it while talking! Your face is fine but its such a distraction!
What Camera Is That?
Zoom
@@sportsgamersonline ... Wow I Was Hitting On That Then After A Few Bad Games I Switched, Gotta Stick Wit It... Thanks Bruh!
This ninja sound like Ray Lewis, minus the intensity of course..
Bs my timing is perfect everytime and I still can't get a hit
I stg i scored 4 runs watching this vid
Why you losing in every single game... 🤔 should I be taking advice from you?
