What happen to Max's shoe stuck in the grab handle? 😀 You had calm sea conditions, I haven't had the confidence to go over to IOW in my little boat, one day I'll do it though.
Haha yes maybe there’s some things that deserve more of an explanation! He got some water in his show while we were launching the boat so was trying to dry it out 😊
In your earlier video you mention loose steering. I have the same boat and had the same problem, 30 year old cable steering. No need to go hydraulic though, I used SSX17713 XTREME Tilt NFB Steering Kit. Worked great.
@@yanafloat The pull was fine. You just tie a rope on when you pull the old one out. Then use that to pull the new one back in. You will want to remove the panel behind the throttle shift lever. It's 13 foot cable, but i'd do both the cable and the helm, I had slop in both. My only problem was the cable hit the engine well when trying to remove it from the engine steering tube. I do not have a cut out for the rigging to pass into the starboard rear compartment like you do. So I had to lift my engine off to get the old cable out. It looks like yours will pass back into that hole to allow removal. Also, I use an OZ hydrofoil on the cavitation plate to control bow rise. Works well, I did not want to add trim tabs.
@@coldstig8293thanks for the info, this is a job I want to try. I’ve got a pair of bennet slt10 self levelling trim tabs sat around waiting to be fitted but I need to clean the back up first from old anti foul and figure out how to install them. It looks like I need to drill some extra holes as I can’t get the angle right under the swim step.
Nice trip, glad you got out whilst you had the time off work

@@coldstig8293 really good to know! How did you swap the cable over? was it easy enough to just pull it through or did you need to lift floors etc?
