Very helpful. The church is commanded to mission but that command is fulfilled by the church fulfilling an even higher responsibility - which is that it must delight in itself. Note in the verse below that it isn’t by our love for them that people know we are God’s disciples - but for each other.
    John 13:35 ESV
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
Christians loving each other within range of non-Christians is therefore the most powerful evangelistic strategy because only in these relationships is God’s ultimate intention revealed - that being that our sacrificial love will give way to a holy desire for each other - a holy hedonism. Everything God commands us to is in order to set us free.

No, the biblical mandate is to reach souls person by person for Christ. Your concept is unbiblical. Rowan is a modernist heretic.

@@TruthBeTold7 I agree that Rowan WIlliams oversaw the continuing slide of the Church of England into apostasy - instead of seeking to discipline those in the denomination who were committed to immorality. However (possibly unwisely) I chose to support his statements in this video as I don't believe the ideas explained here are well understood.

The church is not commanded to anything. That's Rowan’s point - the quote from the Greek theologian. The church is not an institution, it is just a label we’ve adopted for signifying multiple gathered Christians - it is just how we live out our Christian faith community. However, ‘individuals’ are commanded to mission; we can’t outsource it to our church to do it for us. We are not let off the hook because our church has an Alpha course going. Ask yourself, “how many disciples have I made?” Therein lies the answer to the problem of mission for most of us. Instead of us getting stuck into our mission, we instead like to play church (or religion).

This man does NOT understand at all. I share the Gospel because I love Jesus, He told me to, I love others by His grace, and I would like them to know Him too. I try to share with love and grace. But it is the Holy Spirit who will convict them, not me.
I don't judge success by how many converts. If I am doing the will of God, that is my aim.
Jesus never seemed worried about numbers. Neither am I.

@@ProfYaffle This comment was deliberately dishonest. He argued, that there should be in some circumstances the possibility of religious law, as long as it doesn't conflict with the law of the country. This is something that already happens in Judaism and Christianity were those institutions have an internal law that rules according to their religious framework. Many interpreted Williams words intentionally as if he meant, that there should a parallel system of jurisdiction, but his opinion is hold by many scholars in the field an not even a little bit radical. It is not about a separate system of law, instead it is an extension, that will solve certain cases which are specific to those religions, for example in questions of marriage

All religions teach to love and worship God through self/ego. I love God, I love Jesus means nothing, and how many gave their existence and chose death for the sake of "I love God" thinking it pleases God. When Christian religions understand the truth to Peters denials ( painfully disowned self) and the disciples scattering, they'll be capable to differentiate between "I love God" love through self/ego, and Love through Jesus compassion from heart and soul to save and rescue lives and souls.

no Christianity teaches you come to God though Jesus. You dont earn God's love or favor though self, God loved you before you did anything. Jesus said no one comes to the the Father but though him. Jesus was either God in flesh of a liar. Dont say "All religions teach to love and worship God through self/ego." Jesus does not leave that option open

Jesus Christ may have been the humanistic god man ever created but the fact is he was created out wanting imagination by the people who wanted a god such as that.
Peaceful loving and compassionate to the human experience, that's why this god is still believed and worshiped to this day.
