Why? Men and women of greater deeds have come before him and are hardly mentioned.
Secondly there is a general mistake that this was a solo battle by the VC. It wasn't. The University council meets regularly and makes resolutions on such matters. The VC has correctly stated that the Council would meet at every turn of events and come up with a position. It is Kinyua who muddied the waters initially by addressing his letters to the VC and making it appear as if the VC had personally decided to stand up to Kinyua's correspondence of questionable uprightness. The VC is a member of the University Council and is also the Secretary to the Council. But what the VC was expressing in this matter were the views of the Council and not the views of the VC. Kinyua unfairly targeted him.
