Coming home to Ireland from Manchester, the LUAS compares well with the Manchester Metrolink trams - my only real criticism of the LUAS is that the line should be extended to the Irish Ferries & Stena Terminals at Dublin Port and there should be a stop at Dublin Docklands Rail Station for the M3 Parkway line - my family live in Dunshaughlin Co Meath so having a link with this for coming home via Holyhead on SailRail would make life so much easier, especially when the M3 Parkway line is extended to Navan, regardless of whether or not the high-speed rail tunnel under the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin is ever built - with the expansion of Dublin Port to take cruise ships, a LUAS line extension is the most cost-effective solution and is the most achievable compared to other infrastructure improvements
