Momotarou's father died before he was born.
That's why Momotarou grew up without knowing his father and has never seen an adult male gorilla.
But Momotarou became a good father of two sons.
I think Gentaro and Kintaro, who grew up watching Momotarou, will surely be good fathers.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

Speechless! I could watch this all day long! Amazing how similar they are to humans. The father seems so proud of his little one and the mother is very watchful and nurturing just like us beings. Now we humans should take notes so that we may behave just as civilized and learn to to work together as one unit. Wish it were that simple🤷🏽♀️ Nevertheless, I love seeing this 🦍😘💖👑

Well, if that wasn't the most precious thing I have ever seen in my entire life and I am old watching the big powerful animal so gently touch that baby was just beautiful I am just in awe of him, what a magnificent animal.
Just love how Baby has zero balance, falls over constantly, but never gives up! Momo says, "This one is not too bright. Good thing that he is funny". 😂

To be honest, it actually make me cry. I never knew my dad. He left cuz my mom was crazy. I wished I had a dad as caring as Momotaro...really.
I can kinda relate but my dad lived with us he just wasn't a dad to me I'm 54 and he still isn't so I've learned to accept it. The LORD was and has been my true Father he's the only one who's stuck around through the good and the bad. Psalm 27:10

Now KINTARA is 5, Gentaro, a typical teenager, cantering & sliding everywhere to avoid his Dads wrath. Darling Genki, such a loving mother, they’re the greatest family. And with the zoo, understanding they’re all acrobats , & swinging & climbing is the wonderful life of a Gorilla ❤🎉😅
Definitely a nice video for Father's Day! Momotaro is definitely self-taught since his own dad died before his birth. His parenting style may be different from other silverbacks, but it is his own and his sons respond to him! The only possible way to make this video better was to add some clips from when Gentaro was small. Momotaro was just as gentle and easy with Gentaro as he is with Kintaro. One old video I saw was of the two of them playing, Momotaro laying on his side and Gentaro standing on his shoulder. It was adorable! 🧡

While Kintaro is definitely a spunky & cute young gorilla with many antics, so many of us know that Gentaro was also. From his expressive eyes and face to his heartwarming gestures, he delighted us when he was young with his dancing, drumming, wearing the blue bucket on his head, and his interactions with mom & dad. Both sons are special; and those of us watching Gentaro grow from a small baby gorilla til now know that he is exceptional!🧡🧡
It is my belief that many come to the zoo to see Gentaro - I know I would if I lived in Japan.

Best Dad Ever! Nothing like getting little kisses from dad. Kinny knows he is safe with his dad, but Gentaro and Genki are both watching just to be sure. Genki is a fantastic mom, but she can sometimes be a Nervous Nellie when it comes to Kinny's safety. When I see videos like this one, it makes me so sad that his dad, Biju, died before he was born. He's learning to be a great dad as he goes along. Good for him!

I love how both momo and genki look at gentaro like he had a curfew. The concerned parents when kids stay out late and then go to play with Kintaro to avoid a lecture.

All through the video you see how Momo's love for his Little Prince continued to grow.
Around 13:07, you see Momo stare at Genki. It was as if he were telling her, "We did good again, maybe even better the second time around." And, Genki, looking so proud, "Yes, I know. Isn't he beautiful?" Then around 14:08, Momo lays his hand on her thigh in a very affectionate way. It was heartwarming.
It was obvious all through the video, that Momo so wanted to touch Kintaro, but he was cautious how he did it. He didn't want to frighten Kintaro and at the same time alarm Genki into thinking he was going to harm him. Yet, at the same time Genki was aware that Kintaro might be pestering Momo and she definitely didn't want that.
Kintaro gradually kept getting closer and closer. Finally, Dad and baby exchanged mutual kisses and touches that they both enjoyed. You could almost see the pride on Momo's face as littlest son would stand in front of him drumming on his chest. Even when Kintaro's drumming went from his chest to dad's big forehead, Momo's pride could be seen.
At the final few minutes of the film, when Momo was playing with both his sons, the pride he had in both boys was awesome. But, that littlest one had won a special place in Dad's heart.
Both boys have great respect for Momotaro, but the Little Prince pushes the button sometimes, like when he was swing on the rope and punching Momo in the back to get a reaction out of him.
After all is said and done, Momotaro has turned out to be a wonderful father, even though he never was taught. And, his kids adore and respect him. Genki knows he is good to and for the boys, even if she does get irritated at him at times, but, that's life even in the best of families and this is a great one. One that even humans could learn a few things from.

This is one of my favorite videos of this beautiful family. Genki is such a loving, protective, and affectionate Mother. Momo is a fantastic Dad. When he plays with Gentaro, he is a little rougher because he is older, and bigger. With Kintaro, he is more gentle and cautious in his movements. When Momo looks at Kintaro, you can see that he is absolutely in love with that baby! For a Mother who waited so long to have babies, and a Father who grew up without one, they have made a lovely family. ❤️
