    • @Sweet-Leaf
      @Sweet-Leaf Год назад +4

      @@shadow_realm47 That's flat-out false. Aldo lost to Conor in 2015 or so, didn't move down to 135 til 2019. First thing he did when he lost was call for a rematch, citing his long-time dominance as a reason he deserved it. But Conor/Dana decided the next fight for Conor was at 155 for that belt. They did offer Aldo a rematch later on, but it was short notice so he turned it down. In fairness, he did previously say "any time, any place" which we all know is just a sound bite for 99% of guys, and technically he did turn it down when it was offered. To say he should have conducted himself differently is an opinion. To say they dicked him around on purpose is a speculative appraisal. But to say he NEVER chased a rematch is a lie.

    Colby Trash Talk didn’t backfire on him.
    His inactivity did. That’s been his issue his whole career. You know the difference on his performances when he takes 4-6 months off versus 1-2 year lay off. Colby has a fight style where he needs to stay active to keep momentum

    • @TheGreenGobshite
      @TheGreenGobshite Год назад +8

      It did backfire. The strike from edwards in the first round, that Colby ‘smiled’ off put him on notice. He realised his trash talk backfired and did little to no effect on Edwards’ superior striking, timing and technique. His trash talk backfired and Colby realised that a KO was imminent if he challenged more; which he did not. For obvious reasons.

    In this way, Joe isn't speaking purely from speculation but rather from evidence of Leon's reaction at the press and his words afterward. I do see Chael's point in a more general realm though but I think Joe was speaking specifically to this situation as opposed to generally.

      @@nickscarla-tl9xpThe only thing keeping Colby relevant is people reaching out to see how he is embarrassing himself. Whether it’s a sad little excuse rant on fox or a pathetic cope on twitter; it’s people looking to see the clown dig a deeper hole for himself; that’s keeping Colby relevant. Colby himself is doing himself no favours; never becoming champ, and never getting a title shot again.

    Chael working overtime as Colby's PR. Even if everyone understood Coblys intentions and were completely onboard with what he said, NO ONE wants to see him headline a show again after such a terrible performance

    You know what Chael, you’re right. I didnt watch it but you made it sound so unbelievably boring that i in fact had to see it to believe it. Once again undefeated and undisputed working even when he’s not working. 🐐

    Pretty sure other fighters analyse trash talk in terms of getting into the opponent’s head. Bisping was talking about Colby doing it to get into Leon’s head…

    Trash talk has never influenced the outcome of a fight. Hence why Jose Aldo is still champ.
