The Teachers' Training College at 1.17, was formal the Domestic Science High School (Girls). It became the KGCAE (Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Education) then the BCAE (Brisbane CAE) and is now QUT (Queensland University of Technology). It still provides teacher education, but the campus covers an enormous area compared with when I attended in the 1960s and 70s.

At 4.08 -House in the suburbs 1954- is a picture of Josh Griffins house on Upfield St Burbank must've been a Courier Mail story of him being a builder and built a lot of homes with his brother. I have this print with the Courier Mail reference number on the back. My parents bought the picture as the Griffens were good friends in Mt Gravatt

These always bring tears to my eyes. Time goes so fast and things were much better in so many ways back then. Truly our lives are but a vapour. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14

Whenever I watch these videos, they are wonderful by the way, I often wonder, if, like the young girls at 5:27, who look to be no more than 7 or 8, if they are still alive.

Excellent; but only after reducing the playback speed to 50%, and then muting the music.

French Rugby Players on a balcony on the Albert Hotel, next to the Tivoli Theatre, opposite City Hall. All those buildings were demolished to make way for King George Square...and the eyesore we see today. No one gives a flying fox about King George, but they killed our heritage buildings anyway. So sad.

The original King George Square had lawns and fountains and was lovely.
The current abomination is a fiasco.

It's now called the frying pan because of the Teflon looking grey slate stone. And there's a huge tv screen permanently on which just seems to play non stop adverts with the sound on loud. What a horrific space our stupid town planners have created.

It looks like McPhail St. Zillmere - where the housing commission homes are.
